A thousand eyes offer more insight into the internet compared to other products. It has really good network performance monitoring and network mapping capabilities. Alerting and reports are much better and the dashboard visual is great. Customer service is very very responsive.

ThousandEyes is great for monitoring a specific application. AppDynamics is great for monitoring many, many applications and zooming in to troubleshoot. Thousand eyes is more monitoring from the outside as opposed AppDynamics monitoring the actual platform. Dynatrace is great for alerts but does not provide as much detail in the capacity that it is used.

This product is headed to a right direction as compared to others. Quality of support provided is terrific. There is everything I need and hardly any features missing. Delightful user experience. Excellent diagnostic tools and very responsive user interface. Clean and readily understandable design of the software makes it better.

ThousandEyes is able to monitor not only of network downtimes, but also to monitor bandwidth usage, paths, geo-locations and health of applications and platforms. This gives visibility of performance and metrics and flows, besides the alerting for troubleshooting.

We have found ThousandEyes to be more full-featured than many of its competitors. Many of them were more tailored strictly for operating inside a corporate network and weren't flexible enough to adapt to our service provider use case. Other competitors, simply didn't have the breadth of options or were overly complex to implement and use.

Over the competition, ThousandEyes contains all the solutions in one place. They also have a very high price if you buy as an individual. But ThousandEyes bundle pricing is low compared to others, so overall cost effectiveness is a major factor in favor of ThousandEyes.

The cost-benefit rate is good in ThousandEyes compared to some other applications.

ThousandEyes is very oriented to network performance: hop-by-hop network analysis, latency, jitter, packet loss, MOS, QoS mismatch identification, etc. Other applications are more oriented to app performance and the network analysis might not be as deep as with ThousandEyes. They are good in their own area though.

We looked into RIPE Atlas in conjunction with BGPmon. Atlas credits can be generated by nodes hosted on your network for other Atlas users to use to run tests, so testing is essentially free if your local nodes are used a lot. The problem with Atlas is that visualizing that data is entirely on you to implement. BGPmon is a great tool as well, but ThousandEyes allowed us to kill two birds with one stone with less cost in man hours to implement and maintain.

ThousandEyes stands out from its competition on the below points:
1) Their endpoint stability and robustness are better than other tools, which ensures that we detect even minor disruption in our services.
2) Reporting & Alerting in ThousandEyes is far better than its competitors.
3) ThousandEyes' gui is web-based, with an easy to use design.
4) It can integrate well with other interfaces, hence making it adjustable to your current setup.

We selected ThousandEyes because we liked the ease of use of a SaaS platform that was easy to configure and begin collecting data on our network. The price point was also a deciding factor as we saved a lot of money on an annual basis and got improved functionality.

In all cases, each separate solution did OK on their own, but ThousandEyes went deeper and usually wider. They also provide world-class support 24/7. I have never been left stranded or uninformed. They took the time to learn our business, provide excellent thought on how to build our monitors and they include us in their product discussion allowing us to help mold their next feature. I have rarely found a partner as strong as they.
