Mindflash: Track your training and compliance
We use it to deliver client-specific training prior to our employees going on-site—safety training for basic, intermediate, field, etc. We also use it to for training on how to use our internal business system. This includes: entering timesheets and expenses, approving timesheet and expenses, creating proposals, etc. Finally, we use it for HR level training for new hires, and annual ethics, etc. It is more of a company-wide training tool, but we do have department-specific training in use as well. For safety training, it is especially important to be able to provide the completion certificates to our clients outside compliance sites to verify we are training our employees in required safety programs/topics.
- You are able to create groups for your employees so that you can quickly assign groups to training courses rather than grabbing employees individually each time.
- You can import training packs in several formats and create custom quizzes either throughout the training or at the end with multiple question formats.
- You can add surveys to your courses as well, but getting the survey data back out is not as straight forward as it should be. You have to click around to find it because just printing the results in the course does not automatically include the survey results.
- You have no control over the passwords. Yes, the user is able to click a "Forgot Password" link on the login page, but we have had many problems with the user not receiving the email, so then they are stuck, and we have no other alternative to help them get into the system.

- The biggest ROI is being able to provide certificates for safety training. Prior to using Mindflash, this was a very cumbersome process to track employee training status in general, and for specific areas. The previous process didn't cost us anything, but it was admittedly very flawed and inconsistent.
- Since we already have Mindflash available to satisfy necessary internal training, we end up using it more and more for many items that we would have typically just sent in emails for employee consumption. Mindflash allows us to see who actually went through the material, so even in cases where it isn't necessarily "training," we have put these items into Mindflash to help with keeping track of compliance items.
The only other training platform similar to Mindflash that I have used is RedVector. However, we use that platform entirely differently than Mindflash. RedVector has a very large available library for our users to stay current on their PDU/education credits for their PE and PMP licenses. It does have the option to build training within it as well, but we have not used that feature because it is more focused on providing external training for others.

Mindflash is the place to learn.
We use Mindflash to train our employees as well as train our customers as they onboard into our own program.

Glad we made the switch!
Mindflash is being used by our entire organization for all training, learning, and development tracking. We do a lot of compliance training since we are a highly regulated industry and Mindflash has helped immensely due to its simple but very robust reporting capabilities.
- Mindflash is very clean and user-friendly. Very easy for learners to navigate and understand.
- Mindflash’s reporting tool is unmatched. You can pull any type of report you could want or need.
- Customer service is top-notch. From our Sales Executive to our CSM, all the way up to the VP, our experience has been amazing.
- The live event/classroom training functionality is pretty basic. Would like to see options to enter date/times of training.
- Automatic calendar invites sent to registrants for live training would be great. I think they are working on this functionality in the near future.
- Mindflash recently changed from s courses and series structure to modules and courses. I liked it the other way, personally.

The ease of use for both learners and administrators in Mindflash is unbeatable in my opinion. The system may not have all the fancy bells and whistles that Cornerstone or Litmos has but we didn’t need all that and honestly, it was all getting in the way.
This product was selected to first help the Safety group deliver 'safety orientation' training to shop and field workers across several provinces and into the US without involving constant travel or face-to-face interaction. The group needed an online delivery system that was easy to use, easy to administer and easy on the budget. The Safety group likes that the online training can be given to new contractors and permanent employees before they even show up for work. Now that we are seeing its benefits, other groups, such as HR, IT and QC are using it too. HR is using it to offer another option to take Conflict Awareness training and we are rolling out 'new employee orientation' as well. IT is using it to offer simple, focussed, fast courses to the whole company to save trainer resources for sessions that truly justify face-to-face training.
- The user interface is clean and uncomplicated.
- Mindflash isn't bogged down with unnecessary bells and whistles.
- No matter what the source of your content, Mindflash converts it into one seamless presentation.
- Tutorials are built in.
- Their customer service are prompt and friendly.
- The people at Mindflash listen to your suggestions to improve the product and incorporate them when they can.
- The reporting capabilities are pretty decent.
- Adding voiceovers from within Mindflash is easy, but unforgiving. You have to do each slide in one uninterrupted take, or do it over.
- Mindflash doesn't handle animations in PowerPoint well. This is OK though, as animations tend to be a distraction anyway.
- You can't delete or re-order or edit slides once they're in Mindflash. You can hide them. If re-ordering or editing is required, you have to upload a new, polished presentation.
- Mindflash doesn't help you schedule training or re-training.
- [Update: They fixed this! There is a new role that allows for pure read-only viewing!] There is no (non-student) role that can only view tracking information. All roles have access to managing courses.
- The biggest improvement we have seen with Mindflash is better and faster training delivery without having to involve a live trainer or pay to send trainers on the road.
- The ROI on Mindflash is mind boggling, as to hire another trainer just for the Safety group would cost at least 4 times as much.
- When the IT Trainer volunteers to fully support Mindflash and assist content developers with content polishing, uploading and management, you know the product is good.
- HR is now making use of Mindflash to deliver online Conflict Awareness training and new employee orientation.
- During an economic downturn in our industry, Mindflash saved us regarding Safety training when the Safety group lost most of its people. We couldn't have achieved our training objectives without it.
Our priorities are ease of use, economy and flexibility. Skillsoft was too content-heavy. It would have been good had we only been interested in ready-made content. Their content just didn't meet our needs. Cornerstone was too expensive, too complicated and would have required a complex implementation and training period . We asked for a demo and were not shown the content management aspect of the product, nor given access to a trial. Mindflash met all of our needs. The product was easy to use. I had 3 demo courses up and running in one afternoon. I was able to add a lot of users via an import datasheet. There's even an iPad app for both managing Mindflash and taking courses.

You would have to have a decent understanding of databases, because the biggest issues usually involve user duplication or typos and missing data. Aside from that, you need a good understanding of browser problems and SCORM content, as this would be our second biggest issue.
- New hire needs safety training before they can begin work.
- New hire needs technical orientation to familiarize with computer and network resources.
- Employee wants training but cannot afford to spend time away from desk.
- Employees were receiving training outside of Mindflash, but management needed a way to track completion and retention. So we made a course just for testing and tracking.

Sometimes management want you to try using something they are familiar and comfortable with. We had to show them that sometimes simplicity trumps integration. Content developers also had to come to terms with content that might be suitable for face-to-face training is not suitable for unsupervised elearning.

Mindflash - Very useful. Room to improve.
Mindflash is our method of training our entire company. We require people to be on the phones at all hours, and we can't pull everyone off at the same time to conduct the same training. Mindflash helps us to solve that problem with video based training. Everyone gets the same information, and everyone can be held to the higher standards that come from this.
It is being used throughout our whole organization, we publish courses for different departments. We also publish courses for the whole company. It really is an ingenious way to get people trained effectively.

- Organizing courses into series. If you have a set group of courses that you need groups to take (like every new employee) you can just assign these series and let them start at it.
- Reports. It is nice to be able to see the progress people are at in the series or courses, and you can see at a glance, who failed and who passed.
- Add-ins for courses. Their quizzes are simple to add and they help to get critical thinking into the training videos.
- Admin: They only allow one admin account, which can be a headache. Instead of logging into my personal Mindflash I log into a shared user, that makes and assigns all the videos.
- Agent UI: It isn't the prettiest UI and can be hard to navigate for beginners.
- Certificates: The certificates for passing a course are just dumb. I have them all turned off and I could never see that being useful.
- Overall training has improved.
- We are able to grow rapidly and keep training costs down.
- We are able to meet specific customer's needs a lot better
This is an alternate software that we have looked into, right now we don't have the need for the increased flexibility that Lesson.ly provides with learning from your mobile or tablet. We haven't seen a lot of those things as particularly useful for our current training methods, but we see the quality to be similar.
