We are mainly using Teicentis Qtest for Testing and managing defects. For these phases in their project, Qtest has proven to be a very useful tool, and it has also helped us to identify Risks based on defects log so that we have proper Actions during the project. It has built the trust of the QCoe teams among the Business stakeholders, and they believe what has been tested.

Tricentis qTest has revolutionized software testing process in our organization by offering a unified platform for testing activities. By Centralizing test management, it enhances visibility across projects, giving stakeholders a clear snapshot of the testing status, progress, and outcomes. This clarity allows teams to more accurately assess risk coverage, pinpoining areas of software that might be under-tested or prone to defects. The detailed traceability feature is also pivotal in regulatory compliance, by ensuring that every requirement is matched with corresponding test cases and results.

Tricentis qTest is one of the best test case management tool I have used. This actually manage add all the possible test cases into the test library. Once all the test cases were created from all the perspective and respective team such as compliance team and business owner. Once test are performed finalized report can be sent to the signoff team for the final approval.

Tricentis qTest aims to provide a centralized view of software testing activities, and its impact on testing visibility, risk assessment, compliance, and process improvement can be substantial. It offers features like centralized dashboards, custom reports, and requirements traceability to enhance testing visibility and risk coverage assessment. qTest also supports compliance with audit trails and document management. It fosters testing process improvement through Agile and DevOps support, collaboration features, test automation integration, and data-driven decision-making. However, the actual impact depends on effective implementation and utilization within the organization. Success requires a commitment to optimizing testing practices.

It was crucial to manage and store test cases, making it easier to organize and access testing assets across the multiple teams involved.

It has undeniably improved our cross team collaboration between development and QA teams by offering a common workspace for sharing test-related information and tracking defects on the software.

Without it, the timeframe for development would have been much longer and painful for everyone involved.

With this software tricentis qtest, the visibility of the test cases have definitely improved, all the important executions which are happening in a scrum are directly visible on the go and managed accordingly. We can also use same tests sets for different iterations with historical runs data and execution results.

  1. In depth control and monitoring over test cases, while we can create manual and automated cases on the fly.
  2. The folder structure helps to manage the test cases very efficient way such as modules>> test cases>> test runs>> test suite.
  3. The defect lifecycle can also be maintained , while screen shots as evidence can be added to the test execution and defects for reference.
  4. Rapid testing in case of E2E while connected to test automation TOSCA cases with jenkins and DEX execution activated.

That's correct but in my usage we did automated testing suites only and keept other testing in other applications. But of course, if you build it from scratch or plan enough time to move all test activities you can have it in Tricentis but we already had other tool for test scenarios.

With Tricentis qTest we are able to provide visibility of our test execution at the end of each sprint for release sign-off by various stakeholders. By providing this visibility it creates increased confidence into the quality of the release.

Again, we've only been using Tricentis qTest Explorer because we found the test management features it provides too cumbersome for our needs. Tools should support a team's existing workflow, not dictate the tool's own workflow, which is the impression I got when we evaluated the other features.

Because of the challenges we experienced set up the tool, we weren't able to use the tool extensively enough to get an accurate feel for this. Even before we were fully established with the tool, we were regularly receiving emails from Tricentis qTest (incl. directly from our relationship manager) to add their Tosca tool as an extension to Tricentis qTest, so the claim that Tricentis qTest should provide a view of all your software testing activities feels misleading.

I wish I could say that qTest improved visibility into our coverage, but the reporting aspects of qTest have changed so often and so drastically over our time using it that we have never really gotten a strong feeling for how much this visibility has increased. What's more, our internal audit team found it aggravating and confusing that my deliverables to them were frequently changing.

The ability to view aggregate regression testing efforts, including both our manual and automated testing approaches, is improved using qTest. Visibility into the overall progress of said efforts also allows for the necessary discussions to take place in order to reduce delivery delays. For feature coverage and risk assessment, we have had to rely on external data exporting in order to provide additional visibility since qTest does not provide a good solution for this. qTest data retention has allowed us to ensure quarterly and annual compliance is met.

qTest has greatly approved our Quality Management processes and provides visibility to our Business and Technology stakeholders into our Testing activities. Prior to qTest, we did not have standard methods to document and store our Test Cases between our multiple Product teams. Also, it allows QA teams to work with the Business on enhancing our use case coverage.
