Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

The biggest challenges came down to agreeing internally about the priorities, for instance what were our priorities when searching for a new CRM. Once agreed upon, it was much easier to narrow down options. Another challenge was that difficulty evaluating cost when a product/company was not truly forthcoming. Then again, if the latter was the case, we generally went away from that product.

I didn't really face challenges when researching reviews on TrustRadius because it does exactly what I expect: help me narrow up the software list to the top 3, get real-life reviews and get an idea on hidden costs. After this step, we are used to directly contact vendors for POCs or further information. I think it would be challenging to make purchase decisions for software that have very few reviews.

I think the two biggest challenges when evaluating software are first, individuals with pre-chosen tools, and second, individuals that loaf off of the group. On the first challenge, the issue is typically unresolved throughout the evaluation, but one way to help in dealing with it is to require individuals with pro-chosen tools to physically evaluate alternative tools. On the second: the best way to deal with it is to require these individuals to come with suggestions to the meetings.

Initially, we were relying on industry research reports and secondary research but then we came across first-hand user reviews of products and that to users who were using the products on a daily basis and that has helped us choose products based on very informed feedback.

One of the biggest challenges would definitely have to be finding the one product that did everything one wanted! And as a company, we have to go through the trial phase to see if the product is really suitable for us or not. Getting the proper feedback from everyone can be challenging at times, but this a part of the process.

The timing was the largest obstacle that we had to deal with. Due to some unaccounted-for issues, we had to speed up our processes a few months faster than we anticipated. Which really had us go all-in rather quickly on software. Thankfully it worked out for us and we're really happy with our choice. If we weren't and had to plan for a 2nd option things might have gotten very hairy. That just means our research really put us in the drivers seat.

The biggest challenge is the number of similar apps and services that are available today. Simply looking on Google reveals only a the biggest players who can afford the SEO costs so their services float to the top. In TrustRadius when I search for an app category I get dozens or hundreds of results, many of which can be at or above the 8/10+ threshold we use. The huge amount of results means we have more solutions to cull then vet.

The biggest challenge is understanding how well a piece of software really works without going through the entire onboarding process and using a piece of software. This has made us apprehensive to implement software that could have solved a business problem for us. Not knowing can be paralyzing at times.

My biggest challenge when evaluating products and deciding whether to invest time and money is finding reviews by users that own or work in businesses like my own. A product review can be glowing, however that review may have been written by a user working in a business completely different that my own. It may very well be that the product would in fact be a terrible option for my business. It can be hard to figure out if a review of a product is applicable to my business.

The biggest challenge is deciding what will work for everyone in our company. Every user is entitled to their opinion if it's good or bad. Getting everyone on the same page and making sure they are happy can be a struggle. I think that's why it is a great idea to have a good amount of reviews from different industries to cover a broader area. <br>

The quality and qualities of their reviews are the primary differentiators between TrustRadius and other review sites. Each review is divided into numerous sections, such as where you utilised the product, pros and cons, ROI, alternatives, and a recommendation for it or not. I use their reviews to research new tools and determine their merits and disadvantages in comparison to existing tools in the same domain.

I would say having enough information on the product page and not having enough detailed and quality reviews. Since this is a user-generated content platform, having quality reviews at scale is the most important aspect of the site. The more information I have, the easier and faster it is for me to make a decision to consider a partner.

Sometimes a piece of software would only be on G2 with few reviews and was not on TrustRadius. Those make it harder and I have to talk to far more people myself to make good decisions. It slows down the eval process substantially.

I always choose a product following these 5 points:
  • Good Reviews & Ratings
  • Easy to use tool
  • Less Cost
  • Support
  • Quality
I follow these 5 techniques before using any tools. Technical Support is the most important factor in 2021 before choosing any tools.

My biggest obstacle was finding companies/peers/reviewers whose companies were the same size as mine. I needed the input from other small business leaders who need their dollar to go as far as possible. Hearing from larger companies who can afford to spray their money around isn't as relevant to me and my business.

During the pandemic, it was getting a demo scheduled in a timely manner. Second, pricing was not up front for a few vendors. Thirdly, it wasn’t easy to get customer referrals and for those who weren’t willing to share any, it was a red flag that they either didn’t request feedback from their clients or they didn’t know how their clients felt about their software.
