What is TrustRadius for Vendors?

TrustRadius mends the trust gap between technology buyers and providers. Delivering the most credible buyer decisioning platform for software across industries, TrustRadius helps decision-makers confidently choose technology with vetted, peer-based guidance. Providers are empowered to tell their unique story, engage high-intent buyers, improve conversion, and gain customer insights. More than 12 million annual visitors generate and use high-quality content like verified reviews, data, and ratings on TrustRadius.com.

TrustRadius offers a set of vendor solutions aimed to help technology companies harness the authentic voice of their customers, use that content in their own channels, and activate downstream intent to find and convert in-market buyers.

The Ultimate+ package helps vendors drive demand by leveraging category-level intent data, which allows vendors to target visitors to their own product pages as well as competitors’ pages in their category. The Ultimate package offers product-level intent data to deal intelligence on buyers looking at their products, including leveraging our LinkedIn Matched Audiences integration. The Customer Voice package helps product marketers, customer marketers, and analyst relations professionals use TrustRadius content in marketing and sales channels to increase conversion, accelerate sales cycles, and enable sales teams.

I use case studies as well which are more in-depth than a quick review. Depending on the prospect you are reaching out to and how in-depth you want them to understand something, a review might be better or a longer case study might be better. They both work well in my opinion.

TrustRadius review quotes are easier to access due to the integration with Salesforce, and it's easier to find specifically-tailored quotes. However, the excerpts are generally much shorter than something like a testimonial or case study, so it is less likely to tell a complete customer story.

We see customers/prospects going to online content like TrustRadius reviews more before the formal sales cycle begins with them. Generally, the web is their first point of contact when someone in an organization is asked to put together a list of options for technology investment in a particular area of the company, etc. Other third-party and customer validation is generally leveraged further down the sales cycle.

There are a few things that I like about review quotes
  • That the TrustRadius team serves as an extension of my own and actively engages with our clients to secure testimonials
  • The ability to categorize the whole quote as well as take "snippets" and add sub-tags. This makes it very easy to find testimonials to match to prospective customers concerns.
  • The ability to embed these quotes on our website and have them auto-update reduces the backlog on our web-dev team.
  • The fact that the quotes come from a third party (TrustRadius vs. our own site) gives them more legitimacy than if we just added quotes to our website.

Being able to use your LinkedIn account solves soooo many hurdles for us and being able to generate reviews from our customers. No one likes to create another profile with another company with another password you have to remember. This was key and it was so easy for our customers to just login and share their review and then be done. There was no time spent creating a profile you may never use again or getting frustrated and giving up. It was quick, easy and convenient. They were great when it came to being able to validate customers who gave reviews that we could ping to possibly be a reference for a prospect or case study we were needing. It was quick and easy to find.

I love how TrustRadius reviews are long-form. On TrustPilot, a 10-word blurb is enough to get posted. On TrustRadius, they ensure you are a power user by requiring more thorough answers. This is a HUGE plus for this product. This reduces the number of crazy, whimsical irrational reviews you get from upset customers.

Due to the fact that TrustRadius is a 3rd Party review site, many times TrustRadius is the most trusted source, as prospective customers know this was not a customer that was handpicked by the company to talk to you about their experience. Rather, it's a larger sample size that you can search through and find customers that look like you whether that be industry, company size etc. and see how they honestly feel about the product.

We haven't extracted maximum value from the content in TrustRadius, but that's mostly because or our own internal reorganization. We believe validated content on third-party review sites serves an important purpose that is different than what case studies or other marketing content offers. Third-party validated content is more trustworthy and more "human" than anything we could come up with, so we use it to prove the value of our product in ways we cannot.

Your customers are your advocates! It is as simple as that. Having a third party site publish reviews really authenticates your product or service. Case studies and testimonials are great, but at the end of the day they're usually written up by the company itself. To have an outside source prepare that content for you, makes it 10x more credible.

It's helpful, but it would take a determined customer to find what's relevant. Therefore, it gains value when we make its content easier to find on a first party site.

TrustRadius review content is an excellent compliment to other forms of customer proof such as customer references and case studies, and actually over time I think will become more prominently used by Sales and Marketing because of the ability to source review content much more quickly, saving valuable human hours and financial resources. Published review content is also accessible at any time publicly by prospective users, so from a potency standpoint, researchers know that content hasn't been sifted through the company's Marketing department but rather come straight from the user, cutting out the middleman so-to-speak.
