We use IBM Turbonomic , across a number of sites with in access of 2000 VM's , this allows us to manage our applications to get the very best performance , we have a very small IT team , so using IBM Turbonomic saves us a ton of people resources. IBM Turbonomic has reduced our performance issues on applications , help reduce users complaining and has our IT team working better. IBM Turbonomic saves us time, money, and people resources, and makes our applications and VM estate work more effectively.

I would recommend this product for any one , who has a large VM estate , and needs to be able to guarantee 24x7 performance of applications and good resource management . If you have limited IT team this product helps to get the best out of the team , the AI automation is really good helps the team move away from constantly putting out fires or dealing with application issues.

  • Better application performance
  • Better application delivery
  • Better use of server resources
  • Happier application end users
  • Less workload for the IT team
We found that that the support we had from IBM and 3rd party vender on IBM Turbonomic was superb , and was one of deciding factors of why we choose IBM Turbonomic. We like a lot of the automation features , and how it helps our engineers work smarter. Even though the VM ware Aria operations is good , we found it much more complex to use.
I would say the most notable thing is we have less instances where have to do in depth investigations in to application performance issues. This free's up the team to work on new projects and delivering new applications. The automation features are reliable and we trust them to help us manage our application servers and resources.
Yes the automation is highly trusted by our engineering team , and has freed them to work on new projects , instead of always being tied up on long and challenging troubleshooting investigations. Happier engineers , happier end users , and in turn happier managers and directors.
We save time and resources , so yes we have saved on hardware costs as before if we had a application issues , we would just throw more infrastructructure at a issue or more servers or more ram etc. But we have now insights and recommendations of what the route cause is and makes the recommended changes to configurations IBM Turbonomic suggests.

It was not difficult to get working with , Prometheus , Datadog and VMWare V-centre and V-SAN , Amazon Web Services , and Slack and clickup by the webhooks api
We found most of integrations we needed to available and well support. in addition we found in most cases the integrations worked seemsely , and the ones we needed support for , we got excellent support from IBM
We are confident that our systems are managed really efficiently with the help of this product. The AI model manages and balances the allocation of the resources across our on prem and cloud servers. IBM Turbonomic helps us keep things running smoothly by dynamically looking after the CPU utilization and improving the server-down issues, and even it fixes some things without too much engineer involvement.
We have saved on not wasting resources or setups where we have too many servers running , also we use this to sip and spin down servers on demand for payloads that are for DEV or UAT

So overall we have made cost savings as or current platforms run better for longer , the old way would just spin up more servers , but now we have insights and tooling that manages our server estate with Artificial intelligence baked in.
We have less outages and less issues with clusters running out of resources , we have confidence of what our servers are doing and if they need more resources.

So from a IT perspective less end user complains , better use of of our IT staff resources as they anot constantly putting out fires.

  • We use Turbonomic to manage or vmotion
  • monitoring the whole application as well as its allocation of resources, CPU, memory, etc ,
  • The right sizing feature , helps us to size all the vms correctly
  • Reporting and recommendations on capacity
The product saves us do much time , and helps us get the best out of the IT in infra , it give us insights and recommendations that would take a team of engineers weeks to produce . It gives us peace of mind that the software is managing and reporting and making recommendations while we sleep.

We needed a product that is well designed and works out the box. That understands how IT instructure works and what challenges infta teams suffer with
Now we know of this product , is very unlikely we would select anything else for evaluation or POC
We did purchase premium support , as we have deployed on multiple production systems in different time zones , is super important to have always available and responsive support.

This gives us the peace of mind that any of or 24 hour support team can find the support they may need at anytime of day, without having to involve our internal IT.
No
We have not logged many support cases , we have found the product is pretty stable
fast response , and tickets are dealt with promptly and the support engineers we have spoken to seem to understand the product very well, so we find we always get useful and correct information , without having to chase down the tickets.

VMTurbo Operations Manager is being used to monitor 10 hosts and ~150 virtual machines; along with three storage architectures used as a back-end. This software is only used at my department level, and is not deployed on a large scale in my institution. VMTurbo Operations Manager is used from time to time to troubleshoot VMware infrastructure issues.
  • Easy to navigate the interface.
  • Easy to install.
  • Constantly being updated.
  • My biggest complaint is that the sales team is very pushy to make a sale and to renew software maintenance very early.
VMTurbo Operations Manager is probably not suitable for small businesses.
  • VMTurbo Operations Manager is a useful tool to use when troubleshooting complex virtualization issues.
None.
  • Vmware
It was not difficult to integrate into my VMware environment. However, we no longer use Tubonomic because we did not find the tool useful.
Easy to integrate
Performance is fine
our group never found this tool useful. The interface as not intuitive.
No opinion.

Turbonomic helps with supporting application resource management and network performance data incorporating machine learning to help create a microservices architecture where AIOps is addressing the need to remove legacy applications. It's been able to allow to monitor across multiple service lines as storage and database capabilities while automating many tasks. It also supports virtual machine setup.
  • Automation.
  • Scaling VM's.
  • Data analytics.
  • Turning off some features at times may take some work, but feasible.
  • More ways for targeting resources to make it more GUI-friendly.
  • Reporting to be customized views (for some).
Turbonomic helps to bring AIOps in the mix where a lot of applications may not have that embedded with Network Monitoring as well. In addition, Turobonomic helps with fast deployment and is beneficial in supporting AWS and Azure applications especially. Less appropriate if the goal is just to specialize only in reporting. The platform has that but it is not a visualization platform.
  • Automation/saving time.
  • Storage level forecasting option.
  • Reduce MTTR.
Turbonomic has provided the ability to query out on business-critical applications and made it possible with AIOps. It's allowed us to monitor quickly, improve on the MTTR and extend this to the VM functionality. It has also allowed us to monitor data across multiple applications without any misconfiguring for the data to flow.
Yes - we could perform more data analysis and bring that towards customizable scripts which can help with automation, monitoring, and deployment. It has brought great unity between multiple teams in allowing for further collaboration. Also, Turbonomic has done this since application metrics can be compared much easier than before.
It has reduced our cloud spending and made our dependency less on the data center and more on the investment in AWS and Azure. The amount of savings is reflected based on the applications our team has been able to work through on new assignments through this capability from Turbonomic.
  • Azure
  • Microsoft
There is a target type and then an application-driven architecture in Azure for insights on the data almost for monitoring and utilization metrics. The integration wasn't difficult in that an Azure SQL Database Managed Instance could be created and then brought together with an SSO option in Azure and searching for Turbonomic.
A lot of the integrations were being able to focus very much on pulling out resources on an APM front with computing, storage and other metrics where the ability to work with the configuration environment (global environment) to focus on costs by account, with budget, facilitate migration planning, and set up details on automation and Virtual Data Center also.
It allocates resources among applications by showing more on the cost breakdown by cloud service, with metrics on cloud provider information like Azure Management, Identity, Networking, Storage with costs per day, and total services costs. This then could facilitate and show the corresponding actions thereafter upon scaling.
It's helped for these cost savings since with the cost breakdown it is real-time costs and can be then used for scaling cloud instances accordingly in meeting the application demand. And migration planning is also part of the plan on determining which to execute and why.
It has been able to help with improving on migration to the public cloud, workload migration, and ability to add workloads easily. All of these core functions have helped to see how we can check which corresponding data regions and which VM's to use. And a place to compare with and without Turbonomic the differences.
