Ubiquiti WLAN is a versatile solution that has been widely used in various industries to address the need for reliable and cost-effective wireless network solutions. Organizations, both internally and externally, have turned to Ubiquiti WLAN to provide enterprise-level WiFi coverage while keeping costs in check. The cloud-based Unifi network controller has proven invaluable in allowing users to easily monitor, configure, and manage WLANs from a centralized location. This remote management capability enables quick response times to support requests and the ability to identify potential issues promptly.

One particular group that highly values Ubiquiti WLAN is managed service providers. They appreciate the multi-tenant management controller feature, which streamlines operations by allowing them to manage multiple WLANs for different clients from a single interface. In addition, Ubiquiti AirMax WLAN devices have been instrumental in connecting remote buildings on client networks, especially when existing WiFi coverage is inadequate or running fiber optics cables is not feasible. These devices offer stable connections, internal roaming, and easy network management through an intuitive control panel.

The versatility of Ubiquiti WLAN extends to various sectors such as education and business. In schools, offices, and remote sites, it has proven to be a reliable tool for providing seamless WiFi connectivity. Moreover, organizations with multiple branches favor Ubiquiti WLAN as it allows them to establish a unified wireless network across all their locations. The centralized controller not only facilitates remote changes but also ensures robust WiFi coverage throughout the entire network. With features like seamless handover, support for multiple SSIDs, guest networks, and VLANs, Ubiquiti access points offer a comprehensive solution for building a reliable WiFi infrastructure.

Furthermore, the flexibility and ease of deployment make Ubiquiti WLAN an ideal choice for connecting two buildings without the need for trenching or disrupting existing structures like parking lots. Customers appreciate the enterprise-ready features of Ubiquiti WLAN along with its user-friendly management capabilities.

Overall, Ubiquiti WLAN has gained popularity for its ability to provide reliable and cost-effective wireless network solutions to a wide range of industries. Its cloud-based management, stability, and easy deployment make it an attractive choice for organizations seeking efficient WiFi connectivity across multiple locations while keeping costs manageable.

A to Z Insurance is a growing insurance and tax services company located in Delaware with several branches all over the state. As part of their IT overhaul, we needed a common wireless network across all the sites that was easily manageable in order to provide guest wifi access.

With a centralized Ubiquiti AWS controller, and deployed Access Points in all the offices we have been able to achieve this with great results. Any time changes are needed even at specific office locations these changes can be done remotely in under 30 minutes. Additionally, the hardware itself provides robust wifi coverage wherever deployed, easily replacing the old consumer-grade wireless routers.
  • Remote management
  • Remote reporting
  • Easy to use web interface.
  • Mobile app access for all the above features.
  • Centralized location for network infrastructure visibility.
  • Ubiquiti does not directly provide support for their products, and they perhaps should consider adding it to their catalog.
I would easily recommend Ubiquiti wireless products to anyone with one caveat. Either you must already have networking knowledge in order to set up your infrastructure properly or hire someone who will be able to help you.

For small businesses in my opinion there is no competition in price to performance. If you need to set up a properly structured network but are not a large enterprise that can justify the hardware and SMA of larger vendors, Ubiquiti will easily solve all your networking needs without recurring costs and complexity.

For more complex and large infrastructures I suggest you look at vendors who provide support so that you are not dependant on having advanced networking knowledge in-house unless your business model calls for it.
  • It used to take about an hour or two of labor for network changes to happen between a tech driving to an office and making configuration changes. Now all network infrastructure updates can be mostly done remotely within 30 minutes saving A to Z less in operating costs.
Meraki is a great product providing many of the same remote management features that Ubiquiti offers for network solutions. The main difference is Meraki licensing costs. Each device must be licensed in order to work. After a licensing period expires the device will stop functioning until re-licensed. For the price of the licensing, you get Cisco Meraki remote support and assistance in troubleshooting issues and network configuration problems.

Ultimately we decided to go with Ubiquiti due to the simplicity of the network infrastructure not warranting advanced support. The network configuration will largely stay static unless there are major office changes every few years.
Ubiquiti makes great Access points at various tiers provided far better coverage and throughput than consumer-grade wireless repeaters and routers. We have not had any performance complaints from guests or from the administration who use the wifi on a daily basis.
Ubiquiti's support is basically non-existent by design. However, their forums are a great resource if you are willing to do the research and ask questions. Keep in mind Ubiquiti sells hardware, not support so the responses will be from the community of professionals also using Ubiquiti just like you.
