We do understand that we are going to have to change Time management because it's no longer supported. We also need to add a scheduling tool.
  • Good source of Employee data;
  • Reports are fairly wasy to use
  • Our Executive Account Manager is great to work with
  • Time to respond to cases
  • The buck being passed to other areas of the business
  • Lack of personal attention, feel like your request go to AI or a black hole
Again, the tool is good, user friendly but its the support that is lacking.

  • I like the flexibility BI gives for reporting
  • I like the "payroll processing" functionality compared to Namely or ADP
  • Even though the amendment process can be lengthy, I like how easy UKG makes it to make payroll adjustments
  • More reporting around payroll adjustments. Once the amendment case is done and they provide the AAF report, it's hard to reconcile the additional amounts due. I log each payroll adjustment and I still find it hard to follow once we receive the AAF report
  • The GL set up in UKG is not flexible. It would be nice to have more flexibility to how we are able to code items in the GL Rules
  • In standard reporting, have the option to download more reports in either excel or csv format. Such as the Tax Liability Grand Total Report
Overall I am very happy with UKG. I do not have a ton of experience to compare it to. We used Namely before implementing to UKG and UKG is a lot more robust. I have a little experience with ADP. I prefer the payroll processing to either one of those other systems.

It would be a great system if you're a larger company, with multiple state/country payroll and have a do-it youself mindset. If you are smaller, or don't have the bandwidth, UKG Pro might not be the best fit

I have every platform with UKG except for Learning and People Assist. I use all things UKG Pro for my everyday job, from hire to retirement and timekeeping to payroll. Our latest implementation, UKG Dimensions, helped us to get our managers off of their PCs and back on the floor with their teammates.
  • UKG Employee Portal is very user friendly.
  • Payroll is seamless.
  • Timekeeping can handle complex rules.
  • I wish payroll had a batch process where we could store upcoming payments months out.
  • I wish they would give admins more "keys to the kingdom," and we would not have to put so many tickets in for simple changes.
  • I wish they would not nickle and dime us for every little change we need to make.
UKG Pro is great for our employees. It is easy to use and has everything they need. It is less user-friendly for the Admins. We have to place tickets for everything we need to do, and they charge us $4,000 or more for each SR we create.

Superior Grocers uses UKG Core, Pro Workforce Management, Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits Admin, Performance Review, Attestation, Schedule & Forecasting, and Document Management. Our biggest challenge has been the separation between Core, Benefits Admin, and Plan Source. It seems that we are dealing with three different worlds, especially between Benefit Admin and Plan Source. To be more specific, Plan Source picks up the detection date when a change has been made in UKG Core instead of the effective date. Another item is with UKG Pro Workforce Management and employees being able to modify their punches. I think it is a great feature to allow our employees to add their missing punches using their mobile or PC, but we have discovered that our employees are modifying their existing punches. The Function Access Profile does not allow you the option to select whether you want your employees to add, delete, or modify. I am a big fan of UKG products, and I believe with a little attention to these items, UKG customers like myself will be highly satisfied.
  • The job code, salary change and address/email workflows work great.
  • Payroll Gateway is a wonderful products that has made finalizing payroll easy.
  • Approval of Timecards.
  • Allowing the ability to add documents during some workflows. For example, Termination.
  • Instant Synchronization. We transitioned from Kronos WFC, where synchronization from Kronos HR/Payroll to Timekeeping was instant, and it was a big surprise to find out that in UKG Pro, we have to wait 15 to 30 minutes and, in some cases, even longer.
  • Better communication between UKG Pro, Benefit Admin and Plan Source.
This scenario is related to implementation. During implementation, I had to create over 1,500 rules to later discover that I could have used the import tool and saved myself hours and hours of labor if someone had only taken the time to show me how to upload one rule.

UKG Pro is the HRIS platform that manages our people data across the organization. We were seeking a unified solution to eliminate issues with disparate systems. UKG Pro helped simplify processes, allowed the HR team to become more strategic, automated workflow to reduce data errors and introduced self-service to our associates.
  • Training is offered at no additional cost. You have 24/7 access to webinars, quick tours, documentation, etc. which really helps you become more invested in UKG Pro.
  • Customer support is superior. You have access to knowledge experts who are interested in your successful use of UKG Pro.
  • The UKG Pro user interface is intuitive allowing for ease of use by both managers and associates.
  • UKG Pro has an amazing user resource called UKG Community that offers a wealth of information.
  • Tax Filing can be tricky. Be sure to understand the process and keep on top of any action on your part.
  • Using a new system can be intimidating. Take as much training as possible to fully understand how to best leverage all of the features of UKG Pro.
  • Try to plan for the possibility of future growth upfront. Think about where you are trying to be in 10 years - will your HRIS platform sustain your growth plan?

UKG Pro is currently being used across the whole organization as an HRMS platform to house employee personnel data. We use it to process payroll and also use their Payment Tax Services as well as Onboarding and Recruiting.

Our company setup is not overly complicated and follows basic needs for payroll, HR management, and timekeeping. We have used Ultimate Software since 2007. The merger with Kronos in 2020 was a bit rocky in the areas of tax payment services and customer service, but we are hoping for better things as they iron out the tasks and responsibilities for former Ultimate Software products. Newer clients should not have that issue, however, because they are joining post merger and will not have to seek assistance on pre merger products. As a whole, the product offering is great and has most features that you would expect to have available in 2023.

UKG is our Payroll System, used on a daily basis to process Payroll for over 18000 active employees. In my role, I create and process Payroll Reports in BI and standard Reporting (both the Web and BackOffice). I like some of the standard reports because they are easy to use for daily audits but I have also created several reports in BI that are specific for my auditing purposes.

I am a user of UKG Pro on the Employee side. I have utilized this for onboarding, pay stubs/pay requests, annual and semi-annual review periods, and getting tax documents. This product addresses onboarding and payroll problems within my current company, as well as manages our review process. My scope is mainly surface level and utilizing the gathering of documents and entering my reviews and working with my manager on submitting reviews.

I think UKG Pro is great for all size organizations due to the user friendly nature of the program. It is fairly easy to navigate and doesn't require much training for someone not as familiar with technology. It may lack some additional steps needed for highly complex organizations with large networks, but I think overall it would be a great contribution to manage payroll and annual reviews.

UKG Pro is a our HRIS system which is used for Payroll and Benefits management. We have several of the modules to address workforce management, learning, performance and document management. UKG Pro assists us with the various facets of managing our employees and the HR functions.

The company uses UKG Pro for payroll and time tracking. I am only involved in using their Cognos reporting engine and the associated API to extract data from UKG Pro.

  • In my opinion, integration of payroll with timekeeping is difficult
  • In my opinion, API support is weak, one one tab of a report can be exported and the API is not at all flexible...
My experience is only in integrating it into our data infrastructure and it has been a nightmare. In my opinion, their reporting engine is terrible, I have worked in IT for decades and worked with many reporting engines and in my opinion, theirs is literally the worst I have ever seen. I believe that is followed up by awkward integration of their payroll and timekeeping systems. Finally their API to automate export of data from their systems is extremely limited, in my opinion.

We use the core system as well as UTM (UKG Time Management) and Onboarding. We use it for onboarding, process hires, workflows, performance reviews, timekeeping, payroll, reporting, dashboarding as well as many other HR functions. We use it to help our processes in HR become more efficient and accurate.
  • Cognos Analytics provides live data reporting with 1000s of reportable fields.
  • The product is aesthetically pleasing allowing for users to learn more efficiently.
  • You can create processes either extremely high level or with more granularity, depending on company needs.
  • More fields in the onboarding BI package would be great.
  • Salary/Performance planning should be included in the base package in my opinion, not as an additional cost, this is a basic HR function everyone needs.
  • More consistency in support teams, we are constantly getting a new account manager and they have to re-learn our company needs, it gets exhausting.
I enjoy the look and feel of UKG. UKG also does a good job with the R1/Spring and R2/Fall releases, usually they listen to customer needs and try to make updates based off of some of those needs. I don't like that not everyone has BackOffice, the web is still nowhere close to where it needs to be to have the same access and abilities as backoffice.

I mainly use UKG in recruitment, onboarding and Performance Management.
My Company has high volume of hiring across Canada, UKG recruitment and onboarding is able to facilitate the process in a simple and efficient way. We involved many hiring managers and sections, but HR can monitor the process in an integrated platform.
  • Easy to understand, and straight forward
  • Ultimate Community is fantastic, knowledge sharing is powerful
  • In recruiting gateway, the use email should be verified during account registration. We sometimes found some candidates they put a wrong or invalid email address in the last stage, and we have to start over the whole process from the beginning.
  • Work location should be one of the field can be added in the offer letter.
The recruiting gateway is not well suited for internal candidates. Once we hire the internal candidate, the candidate's name will appear in the process hire and treat them as a new hire. Then we have to delete them in the process hire.
Is the system can move them in a change process (like promotion, or change title) when they identify this is an internal candidate?

I was part of the original project team that implemented UKG Pro (then UltiPro) for our company in 2017 to 2018. We were also a beta customer for the Benefits Prime (now Benefits Administration) system. We have since added additional modules to our platform, including Performance Management, Compensation Management, LMS (integrated with LinkedIn Learning), and UKG Dimensions (in progress now). We have integrated UKG Pro with our SuccessFactors succession planning system and our iCIMS Recruiting and Onboarding system.
UKG Pro manages all of our associate HR, Payroll and Benefits data seamlessly and integrates our multiple platforms that I support as part of the IT Corporate Applications department. We have found that the system is easy to navigate and use for our business customers, and also provides excellent training and documentation materials for customers.

  • Difficulty in configuring security for managers who require visibility to more than one Org Level hierarchy in UKG Pro
  • Platform configuration fields are difficult to add to queries and do not interface to other modules/systems
Prior to working with UKG Pro (UltiPro), I was a software developer and analyst for the PeopleSoft suite of HCM products and thought that they were the best on the market. UltiPro (now UKG Pro) was my first exposure to SaaS (cloud-based) HCM systems, and I must say that I now prefer this platform since I no longer need to handle never-ending tax and regulatory updates, but just receive the bulletins of changes as they are applied, as well as receiving 2 major releases per year, which are much easier to handle. I also like the frequent Newswires and Customer Community which provide ongoing information regarding system updates and great ideas shared by other UKG customers for creative ways to utilize the system. I have been a big fan of the online training and targeted webinars (especially for BI reporting, payroll functionality, etc.) that have been provided in the past and hope to see that continue under the UKG Pro merger.

We use UKG Pro for payroll, tax payments and wage garnishments, HR record-keeping, recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, benefits, surveys, timekeeping, performance reviews, reporting. We currently have 13 component companies on [the] UKG Pro Platform and three different payroll frequencies. We also use UKG Pro as the system to feed employee status and employment information to our active directory, IT set-ups in Service Now, and other 3rd party systems the business units use to manage employee user access.

  • Include SSO links in notification emails for users that work in the field that use the mobile app, as well as the standard links that route back to the desktop. e.g. PTO request approvals, job requisition approvals, people assist notifications
  • Service requests in Ultimate Community have a serious lag. Provide more resources to get projects completed in a more timely manner. Most steps are stalled in our internal projects that require data feeds, UDES, or interface builds waiting for a UKG resource assignment.
I love that UKG [Pro] is open to new ideas and implementing changes based on client feedback. UKG [Pro] has a very robust reporting and analytic database with BI reporting. [The] platform is setup to handle the full life cycle of employees and is very user-friendly. UKG [Pro] is always upgrading and coming up with new products to enhance [the] user and admin experience.

For a non-complex workforce that doesn't have job changes (different pay rates based upon job duties like X rate when operating this machine but Y rate when operating that machine), it's very good. Not as good when the workforce gets a little more complex.

I use UKG Pro to process payroll for our employees and independent contractors. We use UKG Pro for our HR systems to store our employee information. We use WFM to log in employee hours and use Time off system. In 2023 we will begin to use the Performance tool, for our annual reviews. This feature also includes goal, and goal setting to monitor progress. We also UKG to post company bulletins and handbooks, any information that is useful to the employee. We also use reporting system to pull reports needed each day to assist us with Payroll or HR needs.

  • Recent server issues has cause slow time in using the system. Better and faster access to UKG Pro is helpful.

  • Unable to have our employees access 1099 NEC forms on their UKG accounts as well as t4A for our Canada contractors
UKG Pro is user friendly and mostly reliable, its a better system than ADP previously used. Its not 100% the best but its user friendly and easy to learn. The system may not be suitable for 1099 NEC payroll/reporting and Canadian Businesses that we were able to use in ADP to pay our businesses.

My company currently uses quite a few of the UKG modules. UKG addresses our recruiting issues by seamlessly taking the candidate from the first point of contact all the way through the employment stage. We have implemented the performance evaluation module which helped our company go from an old excel spreadsheet review to a streamlined review process in UKG. We have leveraged the ability to configure fields to meet our unique company needs.

I use it to do my timecard, any pay inquiries including paystubs and to handle administrative tasks like changing bank accounts for direct deposits.

Furthermore, we use the site to carry out mandatory trainings per quarter and keep track on all trainings. This helps the company to be able to handle most HR inquiries and trainings in one consolidated website that is very easy to use.

The reason I say that, is for the cost if your under 2,500 employees there are a lot of software options that companies can use that are definitely cheaper and can provide the same amount of functionality that UKGPro does. However if your company is more than 2,500 employees this is definitely the way to go because of its easy to use UI, its mobile application, and other top notch features.

We use UKG Pro for onboarding, electronic document acknowledgement and tracking, timekeeping, payroll, paid time off tracking and ACA tracking. It has helped us cut down on the paper since everything is electronic and everything is centralized so information is available to anyone in the organization who needs it. The security set up allows us to control who is able to see what in the system. The self service functionality allows us to have the employees and/or managers enter information into the system instead of sending it to payroll to enter for them which helps with accountability and workload for the payroll department. We are able to set up workflow so that we can monitor changes that are made in the system to ensure accuracy.
  • Keeping up to date with federal and state laws related to data retention and other rules
  • UKG Pro is constantly moving forward and changing the system to up with the latest technology and strives to improve the system for the users
  • The reporting functionality within the system is top notch
  • There are a few issues with the tax payment functionality. The system does not always match payment services which causes discrepancies in reporting.
  • Customer Support takes a long time to respond when a case is opened for assistance.
UKG Pro is user friendly and modernized that has helped us centralize all documentation related to payroll and Human Resources within the company. We use the timekeeping system as our system of record and it helps keeps us compliant in the states like California, Nevada and New York where they have special calculations related to overtime or spread of hours.

We use UKG Pro as an HCM for payroll, recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews, and benefits adminstration. By using UKG Pro as the system of record for all aspects of employment, it streamlines processes and reduces duplication of data.
  • Streamlines candidates through recruiting, onboarding and into payroll
  • Provides analytics regarding employee retention/satisfaction
  • Manages multiple jobs/pay, deductions, benefits
  • UKG Pro is so customizable that it can be overwhelming
  • Cognos Analytics provides great reporting but creating new customized reports is not easy for the average user
  • Recruiting could be more up-to-date to include text to apply and automated text responses.
UKG Pro is the only third party payroll provider I have experience with, however I had demos with many providers before making the decision to go with UKG Pro. We previously processed payroll internally and used different vendors for recruiting/onboarding and benefits administration. UKG Pro has simplified the entire employee experience by having all functions under one platform.
