Veeam Backup for AWS, the best solution for us!
Our evaluation was fast an easy.
I don't change anythings of the process. But, we have a little trouble with the AWS support when we ask some cost information about the use of S3 repsoitory.
We resolved this situation whith a partner of AWS.

DR and Backup for AWS with added benefits!
If we needed to do the evaluation or selection of a cloud backup solution again, we would have probably started with Veeam Backup for AWS at the beginning. When we first needed a solution, Veeam Backup for AWS was not an offering but since we have been using their on-premise solution it would only make the most sense to start the search with Veeam.

State of Art Back up for AWS
If I were to go through the process of evaluating and selecting a backup and disaster recovery solution such as Veeam Backup for AWS, there are a few things they might consider doing differently if they were to do it again: Involve a broader range of stakeholders in the evaluation and selection process. This might include IT staff, business leaders, and other relevant parties in order to ensure that the needs and priorities of all relevant groups are taken into account.
We also evaluated Zerto when we were looking at new backup platforms, as it was recommended by the Vendor that we worked with to replace our Hyperconverged environment. I think we may have invested some time in looking into one other platform as well, and spent less time evaluating Zerto.

Solid Solution for VM Backups
Our evaluation and selection process was relatively robust in that we've analyzed the market with their advertised back up solutions through various feedback loops. Any solutions that did not manage to meet our selection criteria or had information which was hard to receive was cut out from the selection process. However, if there was one thing we had to change, we would have loved to bring in an SME on Veeam (and other various products) for a more thorough comparison.

Veeam - efficient recovery solution for operational data
If the evaluation needs to be performed again we now know
the benchmark about features, cost, geographic locations of storage, user
interface, support, upgrades etc. in addition to this, we will have to evaluate
based on on Prem versus cloud, network latency, and most important the security
aspect. These details needs to be looked
after once the inversion process starts and more research is performed.
We might compare it to other products this time around, when we choose Veeam it was only the real choice we Proof of Concepted on and because it worked we never really bothered trying any other products. We may look at it to compare with Datto as well as Backbox.

Really great product!
No, I would not change anything. I would ask more questions earlier on. We want to know that our potential solutions are useful. It'll only happen if we can ask to find out. Bringing these questions up earlier in the procurement process is helpful for everyone involved. This is not a solutions issue but a procurement process one
