We used Vendavo PA for our sales and marketing department. It is used to analyze the effectiveness of sales, our freight expenses, margins, etc.
  • Graphical interfaces.
  • It provides the ability to drag and drop analyzing items (dimensions, measures).
  • Getting an integration with ERP is not easy.
  • It's not very flexible in adding dimensions.
Vendavo is expensive, and other competitors are gaining on the analytics offerings.

Salesforce Analytics is better for our current needs. We discontinued using Vendavo.

We used Vendavo to evaluate the margin of deals based on a wide variety of criteria. Working in a sales organization, it was imperative to understand the market, both in general and within the specific vertical that you are selling to. Vendavo allowed us to quickly and easily compare how a deal stacked up against other similar deals based on vertical, geographic location, etc.
  • The charts and graphs that you can pull from Vendavo are easy to read, and easy to work with.
  • Reporting - You can save individual reports and run them consistently. They are also easy to tweak for a more specific application.
  • Export capabilities were great, it was easy to grab data from Vendavo.
  • Not a fault of Vendavo, but management needs to clearly align how they want to have things set up, or there will be headaches during set up.
  • Data inconsistencies from the end user company were common, again not the fault of the Vendavo software but also didn't solve the issue.
  • No Oracle version.
I work in pricing for a business to business sales company. Vendavo was great for this application because it allowed us to easily run reports based on a wide variety of different specifications. The ease of use, coupled with the graphs, charts and export functionality of Vendavo was overall a great asset to the company.

Vendavo is used as a pricing tool to determine average price paid by customers, and to determine average price at which we sell our products to all customers.

  • Determining names of customers... i.e. Does Conoco own Conoco Phillips....
Vendavo is better suited for product specific details as opposed to customer detail.

I preferred Vendavo, but my price manager migrated to Tableau. I think because of the licencing costs of vendavo?
