In both cases, I was responsible for developing the business case, evaluating prospective vendors, and making the "buy" decision with Visier. Currently, it is being used by both HR and accounting. For HR, it is the primary means to track workforce key performance metrics (headcount, hires, terminations, hiring process efficiencies, compensation, and key personnel expense trends over time). Accounting's use is primarily related to variable personnel expense analysis. Business issues addressed have included identifying high turnover roles and locations, as well as the impact of interventions to improve retention. Another has been to enable the organization to better understand how management decisions affect variable personnel costs. In my prior role, we used Visier as both an enterprise analytics solution (with access for HR, Accounting, and Operations) as well as to automate and support enterprise workforce planning. Business issues were the same as above. Most significant opportunity Visier enabled? Providing HR with real-time insights to help the business optimize their investments in people.,Allows organizations to easily access, aggregate, and analyze disparate information. HR data often resides in multiple systems. Visier's service model & technology enables their clients to more easily gain access to this data, aggregate it efficiently, and analyze it effectively. Visier provides the means for HR organizations to bypass the reporting "bottlenecks" common in most organizations and "democratize" the data for anyone who has need to have access. Visier provides a truly superior visualization tool for data exploration and analysis. Their workforce analytics solution provides users with a variety of different ways to visualize data as well as allowing customization in configuration to parse data in highly detailed ways not common with most analytics solutions of its type. Visier's service model - with clients paying an annual fee for service based on headcount - ensures that organizations face what they experience with many vendors, the dreaded, "We can do that (make a necessary change or modification), but it will cost you an additional $_____". Because of this, as organizations increase in their level of analytics sophistication, they have assurance that they will be able to adapt Visier's solution to meet new use cases without incurring additional incremental costs. Visier's customer support team is truly exceptional. In both organizations where I led analytics, they were our "shadow partner" - virtual members of our team who worked closely with us, crafting innovative solutions to unique data or analysis issues.,I don't know what it would be - except to give their services away! I've been a customer twice because I'm very satisfied with their solution.,10,In one case, we were able to realize a 25% reduction in turnover in a key job group by leveraging the insights we derived from Visier workforce analytics. In one case, we were able to identify key turnover trends that would place a business' strategy at risk (due to the fact that turnover was in revenue-generating roles). In both businesses I've used Visier, we were able to significantly reduce manual reporting (by more than 80%), enabling our data analysts to do more consultative work (vs. query generating work) with HR business partners.,Visier's product - relative to other business analytics platforms I have used - is far easier to navigate with a highly intuitive user interface. Users with strong knowledge about the origin and structure of their data are able to leverage their knowledge by using Visier's custom groupings and filters - alone or in combination. Product "uptime" has been significantly better with Visier; in the last two years of use, we had no more than 3 system outages, none of which last more than 2 hours.,,12,1,Self-service and on-demand analytics (in lieu of using reports). Creation of custom metrics. The team is amazing at creating new metrics that we want to track ....converting from a very manual process to a more efficient process. Amazing customer service. Very helpful in our re-on-boarding process of our data.,The main thing we would love to see is the ability to extract history for the data. So, if I wanted to see all the jobs a group of people have been in, I could download the history of those employees for that specific field. Control the fields that come through in the extract. More control and double aggregation when it comes to graphs.,10,We have identified issues in the bank in an exponential amount of time. We are now using this an another system to look at side by side turnover data with exit interviews. Drilling down to specific regions to add factors to our analysis.,It is MUCH more dynamic as well as intuitive if users actually dedicate time to build some familiarity with the tool. Our HRIS has a front end that is not as user friendly and causes for some intense training/ learning curve. Outside of our HRIS, visier still provides some of the best visuals I have seen but there are also some limitations. I have been a client of Visier with two companies. In both cases, I was responsible for developing the business case, evaluating prospective vendors, and making the "buy" decision with Visier.

Currently, it is being used by both HR and accounting.   • I don't know what it would be - except to give their services away! I've been a customer twice because I'm very satisfied with their solution.
Best suited: Clearly, it is the best workforce analytics solution on the market for self-service or on-demand analytics delivery. Why anyone would seek to build an "in-house" solution (we did this, only to scuttle a year's work because we would never be able to build something with the combination of simplicity and sophistication Visier provides). Second, it is the superior cost-based workforce planning solution on the market. The ability to generate multiple plans, build complex scenarios, and model different dynamics make it a powerful solution for planning.

Less appropriate: Their capabilities - as a predictive or inferential solution - are relatively new. For organizations seeking to leverage predictive analytics with data other than "conventional" workforce analytics data, I would not look to use Visier. However, this is not a "fault", but rather it's not an area where - historically - they have focused.

We currently use visier as a very user friendly way to visualize our HRIS for our users. It is used pretty much across the entire bank (select users in each line of business) and it is one of the quickest ways to look at trends across data.
  • Trends data very well, super easy to load new data and any corrections at any point in time.
  • Creation of custom metrics. The team is amazing at creating new metrics that we want to track ....converting from a very manual process to a more efficient process.
  • Amazing customer service. Very helpful in our re-on-boarding process of our data.
  • The main thing we would love to see is the ability to extract history for the data. So, if I wanted to see all the jobs a group of people have been in, I could download the history of those employees for that specific field.
  • Control the fields that come through in the extract.
  • More control and double aggregation when it comes to graphs.
It is very well suited for trending turnover, headcount, calculated metrics, creating reports, analyzing data and many many other things since it is all based off the data we send. It is not good for groups of historical data and also struggles slightly when it comes to calculating last twelve months when it is a mid month of data.

Visier is deployed selectively in the HR Function. The intent of Visier is to provide a single source of truth in workforce analytics across the enterprise. While still early in adoption, Visier has been used to answer workforce questions since implementation.
  • Intuitive array of visualizations.

  • Internal and external benchmark capability
  • Incredibly supportive on-boarding, project management and technical support.
  • Well defined and customer-informed product enhancement roadmap
  • Ability to customize output.
  • Lack of a spell-checker in-bedded in the application.
Visier has a very well-defined process and strategy for integrating workforce and business outcome data. Providing clients with the ability to understand potential correlations between workforce attributes and business results nets HR increased visibility and credibility.

Certainly, for People Analytics, you need a certain company size to be able to drive meaningful actions out of the insights you generate. This holds true for all technologies. Due to the pricing model that Visier offers, it is suitable both for smaller, but also enterprise companies.



Visier is the ideal technology if you have various data sources that you would like to unify and correlate, as there is no limit to the amount of data sources. Results in Visier are presented in appealing visualizations that can easily be adapted to specific context. This makes it a great tool for manager’s self-service.

Visier Workforce Analytics is an extremely powerful tool, but will function better for larger organizations. While we have had success with the provided metrics and analytics, the size of our company can over-emphasize specific attributes as statistically significant due to smaller populations. This product is best used by larger companies.
