  • Negative in terms of speed of response coming from IDE.

  • One of the most important components of Visual Studio IDE is team collaboration, which improves team productivity.
  • It supports a wide range of languages. It's simple to add a library and have the IDE display autocomplete, suggestions, and errors while you code.
  • Visual Studio has a lot of shortcuts, which helps me a lot by saving a lot of time. Its dark theme appeals to me. Intellisense has been quite beneficial.

  • Without Visual Studio, we'd be juggling a multitude of third-party IDEs and tools. The convenience of having all the tools we need wrapped up in a single IDE makes for an efficient development environment.
  • If you're a Microsoft development shop, and your back-end is SQL Server, Visual Studio lets you install a free package called SQL Server Development Tools. This Microsoft add-in gives you the ability to walk-through debugging stored procedures. The process could certainly be better documented or made seamless, but debugging stored procedures can take a lot of time and using the add-ins such as this one can save your team time and frustration.
  • The only negative point with Visual Studio is that we need administrative rights to change our installation of features. At our firm admin rights are removed from our machines so whenever wee need to upgrade or change Visual Studio we always have to contact our support staff to temporary elevate our rights to add or remove features in Visual Studio.

  • IntelliSense helped to overcome the syntax errors, which reduced the time consumed in development and checking.
  • It helped to standardize the development environment among team to allow them on same page.
  • Being heavy, it makes it a must to have upgraded machines for smooth operations.
  • Being huge, it requires you to have larger storage space.

  • The Visual Studio IDE has a very flexible system. We can write applications and services using the applications we have developed on the desktop, the web, and mobile platforms.
  • Linux environments do not provide as much performance as windows systems. In addition to this, we need to check the configuration at the beginning of the manual need to do

  • Slowness legitimately impacted performance and ultimately led us to purchase another product.
  • Being .NET developers however we still keep it installed for those corner cases, so it still has a use.

  • Developers largely using a single tool simplifies understanding.
  • A subscription is relatively costly, so maybe cost-prohibitive for a small shop.
  • For larger shops, the subscriptions come with quite a few additional training services, free Azure time, etc.
