WatchGuard AuthPoint

We reviewed and tested Duo, but having already WatchGuard products, and WatchGuard AuthPoint also having more capabilities, we ended up with them. One less vendor to deal with and also knowing them for a long time and having a great relationship was the key factor to move forward with them.

The main reason why we selected WatchGuard AuthPoint is first of all the obvious one. We also have Firebox firewalls from WatchGuard. Aside form that they have very competitive pricing compared to the other available alternatives. Also they offer the online push notification that is way more secure than all those offline tokens.

We like the integration with the WatchGuard suite of other products

We have chosen WatchGuard AuthPoint because we are gold partner and we know very well all their products. In the past we have used Safenet but we think that with Watchguard we can get a better solution to protect devices and network. End users don't need to learn difficult procedures to work from home or outside the company

Only one app tu manage password a MFA functionlity

AuthPoint integrates with our WatchGuard driven security stack, and is therefor the obvious choice. Competitive pricing. One vendor means streamlined implementation and management, streamlined support.

Watchguard integrates easily into active directory which makes it very versatile. There are a lot more options inside of watchguard Authpoint versus DUO mobile authentication. It also works a lot better on end user devices in my opinion. The reliability of both products are top notch. The pricing is also much better on Authpoint

We investigated Fortinet IAM but found it costly and complex. Atuthpoint was less expensive, the mobile client was preferred by staff. The cloud console was also easier to use.

We chose authpoint because we are already familiar with Watchguard and implementation was easy.

The nature of OpenVPN is that the passwords are stored on the firewall and are static. With Single Sign-On, the passwords change on schedule and complexity, length and time are set by Active Directory policy

The ease of use AuthPoint offers is nearly unmatched, with all of the same (if not more!) security benefits.

While SonicWall worked ok for a while, ultimately, the WatchGuard VPN (Firebox SSL) proved to be a far superior and more reliable product. The Authpoint addition has made authentication of all services that much more secure. Every new layer of security helps to minimize attack vectors. Adding in the single sign on has made it easier for endpoint users as well so that they don't feel overwhelmed by the need for multiple authentications.

We didn't compare other products. We chose WatchGuard AuthPoint because we are a silver partner and already have knowledge about WatchGuard Cloud and other WatchGuard products.

Watchguard has better management tools for MSP's and is cheaper.

Compared to WatchGuard AuthPoint , the Gate Keeper software was not as user friendly or easy to use for end users.

I would slot Authpoint as better than ESET but not Duo. ESET has the same limitations as Watchguard in the OTP support. It also is an on-prem installed console rather than a cloud, which increases cost and maintenance requirements. The duo now supports standard OTP for admin accounts, so it can be managed by a team.

Maybe Kerio was more easy to configure and for some feature is easy to view some dashboard. But it is an old product, no more update, so we don't trust anymore Kerio.

Duo was a great product, but us having already Watchguard endpoints deployed was the reason with went with Authpoint. Simple as that.

WatchGuard AuthPoint has a simpler and clearer licensing system

We have been using Watchguard equipment for years and it was a natural choice.

Microsoft has a logic that defies logic at times. Authenticator is obtuse in operation. AuthPoint is so simple to operate, it runs much better.

Maybe Kerio was more easy to configure and for some feature is easy to view some dashboard. But it is an old product, no more update, so we don't trust anymore Kerio.

The biggest gain for us using AuthPoint vs Microsoft's Authenticator is that we could protect employee logins on their local computer systems, regardless of location. With such a large portion of our computer equipment residing in homes or in storefront locations, there was a very real concern with data protection. The Logon App's ability to protect devices in any location with any network connectivity state resolved a major objective for our security footprint.
