Duo Authentication. It replaced DUO because we were looking for something with an easier interface and better pricing. Watchguard Authpoint was an easy choice because it for all of the check marks we were looking to cross off. DUO also had some reliability issues, so we needed to move onto something else.

In the past we used to use the SwivelSecure solution, in the Appliance solution. The Authpoint solution has the great advantage of being cloud-based, which means we don't have to maintain the equipment and its maintenance. It also adds the added value of simplicity in its management, and the multi-cliente solution.

Fortitoken was replaced due to being locked into the Firewall itself. Although there are updates stating that the tokens is available on Forticloud. However, there were not guides found on how to migrate on-prem tokens to Forticloud. Additionally, Fortitokens can only be use for Fortigate products only, whereas Authpoint can be integrated into many other products.

Direct remote desktop, and SSLVPN on it's own. We wanted more finite control over what devices and who could gain access. Many of the remtoe devices would be in family settings where unknown access by unknown actors could occur. the authpoint was being targeted to a users mobile handset so much more limited in who could enable it.
