WatchGuard AuthPoint

Most users did like the extra security the mobile token offered, as they are aware of the fact that similar solutions were used by all external partner employees that have visited us. So most of our users recognize that this is a standard way of authentication these days. There were of course a few users that complained about the extra steps needed, but this is really to be expected on any such change. Overall we would consider the reception by our users to be more than positive.

The activation process of tokens is very easy. For activating third-party tokens, you only need to scan a QR code and the token is connected. For activating a smartphone, you receive an email and follow the activation link. There you receive an QR code that is scanned by the app. And that's it! You can now start to implement tokens.

Very easy for users when they receive the activation mail. Easy to download and activate the app with a few simple clicks.

Well-Received due to the adoptability rate with users that aren't very tech-savvy. As the users may travel often, and are not connected to our internal network, they can still access our resources to complete any tasks. The reset timer of the code is also helpful for users that aren't fast typers.

The ability to have an app that users can easily access helps tremendously. I myself have sent instructions to users on how to install and how to register the app for Watchguard AuthPoint and haven't had users come back to me complaining that it doesn't work. Only thing is that if someone is away the registration may time out.

Well received by our staffs

It has been well received. Occasionally we'll run into a user that doesnt want to use their phone at which point we've issued hardware tokens.

This has been one of the easiest setups and rollouts of MFA I have ever experienced. We have doctors and lawyers who do not understand technology who were able to setup their own MFA by following the simple on screen instructions sent to each email.

It wasn't well received because users don't want company apps on phones. Also, they think they are tracked if they have these apps

The AuthPoint app on iPhone and Android is really easy for our users. Once notifications for the app are enabled, the push notification from AuthPoint comes quickly. If needed, the one-time passcode is also available in the app.

Activation of the mobile application was completed without difficulty by most employees of the companies we work with, including non-technical users, who usually struggle with technological changes.

Users of AuthPoint have been very happy with the ability to use their smartphone for MFA and the push-based system makes it very easy to use. They don't even need to have the app running, when a push it sent it pops up right in front of every other app, making it super quick and easy to authenticate.

The only issue I see is when users don't connect to the network in certain time frames and have to get a net configuration or a new certificate.

As I experienced, it is easy to understand on how we can set up the WatchGuard Authpoint, using an android or OIS phones.

With so much of what we do interacting with smartphones, having the MFA managed their is just a no brainer. For the most part there is no need for training end users as it is so easy to implement and use.

It is easy for knowledgeable users. Some complaints about it draining battery. Sometimes end up being IT for every users phone (multiple types and OS)

The ease of installation, activation and ongoing authentication has been very welcome by us and our clients.

All users have been really impressed and have mentioned how easy it is to use.

During the process of assigning a token to a user, an email is automatically sent via Watchguard Cloud with all the necessary steps on how to install the mobile application and how to activate the token. It's quite intuitive and easy and the users can validate the token without support.

AuthPoint's Activation email and setup have been the first MFA solution where I have had users be able to set up their MFA app on their own. There are some that still need help but its simple activation help relieve the burden and walk each user through that process. With other products, the activation process always involved more steps and/or having to click on specific options to access the MFA setup menu.

We are technicians and so for us, the access method is easy. In my opinion, end users are easy too because today is normal to have installed almost one authenticator on own smartphone for internet banking access. WatchGuard AuthPoint has the same simplicity.

Sometimes users are reluctant to allow their personal smartphone and not any company provides a smartphone to employees.

Rollout of the WatchGuard AuthPoint app was easy, and most of our users had very few questions. Since WatchGuard AuthPoint does require the installation onto their phone, we did have some users that were not exactly comfortable with have work software on their personal phones. There does not appear to be an alternative for users to authenticate other than the app on the mobile device.

It is really a lifesaver. Push authentification is so much easier to use than our previous solution which required pins to be synchronized and entered. This saves a lot of time in training and support. Our users can focus on their work and less time is spent on support.
