What is WatchGuard Network Security?
The WatchGuard Firebox family of firewalls offers critical network security solutions for businesses of all types and sizes, including tabletop and 1U rack-mounted appliances to Cloud and virtual firewalls. Firebox appliances deliver critical security services from standard IPS, URL filtering, gateway AV, application control, and antispam, to advanced protections such as file sandboxing, and DNS filtering. High-performance deep packet inspection (DPI) means users can leverage these security services against attacks attempting to hide in encrypted channels like HTTPS. - User accountability and verification
- Flagging potential risks to security

- It would be nice to have a quick override, for situations where we know the flagged risk and can easily dismiss it based on our knowledge.

- Traffic analysis.
- Branch Office VPN.
- Network routing.
Cons
- Sometimes, it is not very intuitive. You'll not know how to use certain features unless you read the documentation.
- Some settings in the firebox are not visible unless you enter edit mode. This can cause inadvertent issues if you make a change when you just want to review the settings.
- The use of blocks in the design of the Firewatch interface can be confusing. A better design could have been used.
WatchGuard can be expensive but It's Worth It!

- The security services provided with the paid subscriptions is worth it!
- I've blocked major countries where most malicious traffic originates. With traffic monitor and WG Cloud detailed logs I know it's working.
- Setting up multiple VLANS via different ethernet interfaces helps give more control.
- WG provides extensive help guides to understand what each setting means and gives best practice tips. This has helped me rely less on a 3rd party tech support.
- The ability to migrate settings, etc. to a newer model is much better than what it used to be.
Cons
- There is a learning curve for setting up networks and creating firewall policies. Be patient and don't give up.
- Would LOVE to see SpamBlocker use the Geolocation services to give the ability to block emails originating from certain countries. This would block at least 90% of phishing and spam received. The originating IP address is right in the email header, this could be a no-brainer feature to add.

- Some of the Watchguard Cloud Local management can be a little confusing to get to the right place (yet it will sort of guide you)

- Alot of things are constantly improved no other complaints at this time.
