We find the platform to be very usable overall for asset management, and creation of templates that can also be managed for end users decreasing the need for additional design staff to create one off marketing materials. We find it to be valuable as the one source of truth for approved assets and for tracking use and licensing information. Users need to remember it's an image based system. It can be challenging to explain that it's not "storage" for all back up and is challenging for non image based assets (Excel or Word document). The system is only as good as your maintenance of it - images that are not tagged will never be found. We find it valuable to have an assigned manager for the system who can ensure hygiene happens and can troubleshoot issues.

It's all about scale. WebDAM is designed to handle multitudes of assets while still being, technically, an out-of-the-box DAM solution. For smaller firms (which mine is), it might not be ideal. Our situation is probably borderline whether it's worth the money being paid for it.

  • Great images
  • Folders

  • More images
I think many different organizations can use WebDam. Whether it's creating a job aid, to scenarios, to a brochure, the images provided are excellent.

Through our marketing department and corporate communications group, I access high-resolution images to use when creating graphics and developing web-based trainings for the entire company. WebDAM has been a great resource for sharing content between multiple departments. The navigation of the site itself is user-friendly as well, I like being able to search keywords and sort through related folder options.
  • Navigation of the site is user-friendly.
  • Organization of content into folders and categories.
  • Keyword search and advanced search options.
  • The site has crashed when attempting to download larger files.
It is easier to use than Dropbox, where you assign permission to individual folders. Being able to have a shared login for our team allows us to access all content available at once.
