Cisco Webex Review.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used email. After switching to Cisco Webex, many things can be handled much faster and more efficiently. Many of our clients have also found that they communicate better with us using Cisco Webex. We have numerous client project rooms and rooms for reporting breakdowns there. We can easily set up video meetings, use chat, and share files.

Pros

  • Chat, voice and video calls, file exchange.
  • Convenient creation of teams, project rooms and special-purpose rooms and teams.
  • Integration and support of physical devices such as telephones and video terminals.
  • Creating chat threads, forwarding messages, referencing messages, and searching
  • Central definition of security policies for the entire organization and end-to-end encryption.

Cons

  • I miss integration with some products offered by the competition, such as Wazuh or Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Sometimes, when you paste the URL, editing it is problematic, and you have to delete the message and create it again.
  • A function that knows better what I want to write or how to format, but it can be turned off, and I have it turned off. It really irritated me at first.
  • I miss the chat clearing function; sometimes you have a confidential conversation, and it would be nice to delete everything, specifying, e.g., the date from when, instead of deleting each subsequent message.

Return on Investment

  • Faster ability to determine who should do what or what needs to be done, including specifying details.
  • Easier work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Easy and quick option to establish a voice and video meeting.
  • An easy and secure way to exchange files.

Webex App is Great

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In our organization we use the Webex App for IM, Phone calls and meetings. We heavily use it to collaborate with internal staff as well as partners and vendors. We like that Webex App has many collaboration tools in one place (phone, IM, meeting). We no longer have to guess if an employee is available or not. We appreciate that Webex app is available on mobile devices thus making our workforce reachable at any time.

Pros

  • Meetings
  • Collaboration with internal and external staff
  • Spaces makes it easier for large teams to collaborate and if needed receive specific info and alerts

Cons

  • The integration with other Collab tools such as MS office products and share point could be better
  • it seems like it should be easier to integrate a "bot" in a space via control hub. the process in control hub is cumbersome.

Return on Investment

  • Webex app has allowed us to get rid of duplicate tools and save cost

Usability

Webex Teams: Why everyone needs it!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It started as a single branch that has now been added to more and more, helps integrate them all together, adds more functionality with the collaboration tools, messaging, screen sharing, etc, yet also saving on total cost for the whole company. The fact that most of the exact same functions that work in the mobile app mirror the desktop phone and desktop application.

Pros

  • Collaboration
  • Messaging
  • Cost savings

Cons

  • Provide Webex Teams 2.0 to 1.0 users.
  • Provide training for end users as the app updates and adds features.

Return on Investment

  • Massive ROI compared to legacy PBX.
  • Added functionality but still lowered cost.
  • Pushback from business who are not used to collaboration tools.
