We've used WebPT as our EMR with good success. It's a great company with great product and very pro PT. Improvements to EBV would be helpful for us, we tried it for a few months however the benefits sheet was very lengthy, not only related to PT, and not correct for some patients.
  • Pro PT
  • User Friendly
  • Always advancing
  • EBV did not work well for us
WebPT is best EMR we've used yet and is a very pro PT company. The software is very user friendly, simply, compliant, etc. Again the WebPT conference is always great, helpful info, good relationship building, and great for our company and the profession. We're very happy with using WebPT and have no intentions of any changes.

We use this company's EMR. I would definitely not recommend this product. In my experience, the Zoom feature is inconsistently not working (and not included in the base price), and I feel they do not follow requests made for integrating billing clearinghouse. They turn off billing access to one company and I believe then piecemeal you other tasks that prevent you from billing. If you don't intend to use Therabill as your clearinghouse in perpetuity, I would absolutely avoid this product.
  • Login is easy
  • Documentation templates are somewhat customizable
  • They have a scheduling feature.
  • The connection between their partner software (Theraplatform) often omits superbills, so unless you're comparing both websites daily, you won't end up submitting all of your claims.
  • When you try to switch clearinghouse companies, they turn off your connection to the original clearinghouse prematurely and then piecemeal tasks you need to do before they will start a nre connection.
  • Their Zoom platform often won't let clients enter the meeting. In my experience, when you complain about it, they send you the instructions for how to use Zoom rather than investigate the problem.
I feel that if your company is smaller and depends on monthly income to stay afloat, this is not compatible.

We use WebPT to generate home exercise programs for our patients. This solves the issue of patient compliance compared to verbalizing instructions or giving them a printout. WebPT allows us to send patients videos with written and verbal instructions to ensure proper performance of the exercises. WebPT also will enable us to adjust the programming with a few clicks easily.
  • Automatically creates patient profiles from our EMR system.
  • Allows quick and easy customization of home exercise programs.
  • Allows PT to check on patient compliance with HEP.
  • Needs more exercises in the database.
  • Exercises need better verbiage for searchability.
  • Lacks higher level exercises.
  • Some exercise videos are not performed 100% properly.
I only use it as a HEP generator, but compared to other systems I have used, WebPT makes it easy to create programs (2 minutes on average) and adjust.

I am a physical therapist and have been using WebPT to document notes, schedule patients, and create Home Exercise Programs. We utilize the reminder portion to remind patients which has really been a game changer for patients showing up at the right time and on the right days.
  • Home Exercise Programs
  • Easy of daily notes
  • Knowing when a PN is needed
  • Transition with MIPS
  • More exercises for HEP
  • Duality in notes
WebPT has made doing daily notes, progress notes, and evaluations a breeze. I am easily and quickly able to get a detailed note done in a matter of minutes. I do with there was a way to easily link up the Flowsheet to the HEP program so that an HEP can get quickly generated.

Their customer service needs a lot of improvement. They overcharged me and they refused to repay me. They advised me to put my massage therapists as providers in the system and then they charged me as licensed providers. My assigned specialist stopped communicating with me when I started complaining. Very disappointing. And on top of that, their uploading time is very slow.
  • Their format and drop down options are convenient
  • The layout of the Eval is clear
  • The notes are catered for physical therapists.
  • Loading time needs to be faster. Its too slow.
  • Customer service should be clear and concise.
  • Training system needs to be more simple and more efficient.
If you have a low caseload and you have time to do notes, WebPT is good for you. But if you have a lot of patients, don't use it. Loading time is just too slow. Takes too long.

Customer service is not great. Very bad.

WebPT is currently our documentation system for my cash-based Physical Therapy company. The documenting section is very easy to learn. They make it easy to customize evaluation templates and add or subtract things for each individual patient. I stopped using the home exercise program because I was having difficulty finding the exercises I wanted. The customer service is very helpful and easy to get ahold of, and in my experience, they have been able to resolve any issues quickly.
  • Customize evaluation form.
  • Easy to learn system.
  • Customer service.
  • Ability to customize from the home exercise program.
  • Easier searching for exercises.
  • Maybe adding an email customer service option for non urgent questions.
WebPT is very well suited for companies that have frequent interns since it is so easy to use. It is very easy to use in the outpatient orthopedic setting, I do not know if there are any drawbacks to inpatient or neuro settings.

WebPT is used for client/patient intake, scheduling and EMR documentation.
  • Scheduling
  • Support with chat, phone with person not automated system
  • integration with billing
  • Carryover of appointment time to documentation/note
It is well suited for fast-paced clinical environment as able to personalize documentation by adding content, free narrative areas. Less appropriate for more complex client demographics.

We use WebPT as an EMR for physical therapy clinic. Checking in checking out patience, taking patient payments, documentation by the therapist, and billing claims. Biggest problem we encounter is switching between clinics for scheduling some boots us out regularly.
  • Ease of use
  • Great customer service/support
  • No room for pop-up alerts if something is needed for a patient
  • Technical issues switching between clinics
If you have multiple clinic locations, expect issues switching between clinics

WEBPT ESSENTIALLY RUNS THE WHOLE OFFICE - FROM SCHEDULING AND ENTERING PATIENT INFO; TO DOCUMENTATION, HEP, BILLING, AND EVEN SOME MARKETING/PATIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT.
  • EASE OF SCHEDULING AND PATIENT REMINDERS.
  • DOCUMENTATION IS USER-FRIENDLY.
  • SENDS DIRECTLY TO BILLING AND HELPS COMPLIANCE WITH ALL THE RULES.
  • I wish the patient reminders didn't cost as much to send, and it would be great to be able to send text messages for any other reason.
  • WebPT adds on extras that always seem to cost more - overall, it is kind of expensive.
  • I always wish the documentation was quicker - but I'm not sure what else that would take.
WebPT fits perfectly with our outpatient PT practice; it covers all or most of the admin issues that come up. I suspect practice would be a lot more challenging without it. I have limited experience with other EMRs.

We use WebPT as our physical therapy EMR as well as for our patient scheduling tool and for our revenue management cycle. We also use WebPT to process credit card transactions, send invoices for non-insurance based services, and maintain our staff admin and support tasks via the scheduler. WebPT also provides analytics that we use for monthly reports and performance reviews.
  • Customizable EMR
  • Insurance Billing
  • Easy scheduling
  • All encompassing system
  • Pre-authorization management
  • Lack of communication with changes/updates/bugs
  • Timeliness of RCM with denials
The EMR can be used for nearly any PT for any type of patient but you can get caught up in all the drop-down boxes that may not be relevant—these do not show up on the note if not used so skip the ones you don’t need.
The RCM is priceless with the way you bill straight from the EMR and easily apply modifier, time codes, and flag denials/mistakes. I would like to see management of some denials come back to us faster, though as our >180 A/R gets fairly high and corrections/addendums are required in this bucket so far down the road.
The scheduling tool is amazing and very easy to use!

Notes and billing we don’t really have business problems and our cases are physical therapy
  • Answers questions over the phone well
  • Moves from Webb PT to Therabill easily
  • Does not work well on my cell phone
  • At times as a very long waiting time to get somebody on the phone
What PT is easy to use in my car with my iPad. However, when I try to use my cell phone, it’s hard to sign in because the whole page does not fit on the cell phone.

We use WebPT to schedule, document and bill clients for speech therapy.
  • Easy to use
  • Great support team
  • Adequate detail
  • Too many details on notes pages that don’t apply to one specific therapy
  • Unused drop down menus/items on evaluation
  • Varying scale of pay for smaller companies
WebPT contains all the aspects for my clinic to enroll, schedule, document and bill clients for speech therapy.

We are a busy physical therapy/chiropractic office and we utilize WebPT for all our scheduling needs, medical record documentation and storage. Prior to WebPT we were still using paper charts and scheduling on a calendar. The EMR system has really made scheduling a breeze and it is much easier to access patients' charts versus digging through a ton of old papers.
  • Scheduling
  • Documentation
  • Document storage
  • Editing credit card payments
  • Being able to delete a duplicate chart
  • Issue with the text reminders
WebPT is a great tool for our business the only time we have issues is when the website crashes in the middle of the business day. It can really affect everything cause we are unable to schedule patients, input payments, document in cases, and so on.

WebPT is easy to use and has fantastic customer support. I use it for EMR for my PT practice. I also use Therabill, which is wonderful. My billing information automatically overflows from WebPT into Therabill. Both programs have checks to make sure my bills are clean and I get maximum reimbursement.
  • Ease of use
  • Thorough training provided
  • Syncs well with Therabill
  • I'd like there to be more ability to customize pelvic health templates
  • I wish there was a way to customize templates for my Pilates clients
WebPT is easy to use and provides excellent training and customer support. Documentation is easy and I love that the system checks my notes to ensure I've entered all necessary information to maximize reimbursement.

WebPT is used daily by clinical staff for documentation and reporting. We use the scheduling platform at the front desk to organize therapists' schedules, and we are integrated with their RCM software for our billing to insurance companies. WebPT allows the clinic director to focus their energy on growing the business and not dealing with the day to day of billing. In addition, it allows our front office staff to effectively and efficiently schedule patients without confusion or time-consuming processes.
  • Customer service.
  • Support.
  • Clinical Documentation Templates.
  • Canceling future appointments in the series without deleting previous appointments.
  • Pediatric testing measures in clinical documentation.
WebPT is best used in an outpatient setting where Occupational, physical, or speech therapy services are performed. It might not be appropriate in another rehabilitation setting (i.e., chiro).

We use WebPT to schedule and keep patient information and bills. The good is that it streamlines your scheduling and billing. I use it every day. Cons: Statements sent to patients aren't the same we at the clinic can print out. We should be able to see what is sent to the patient. Billing to the Clinic should be on one statement instead of 2.
  • Notifies patients of appointments.
  • Keep scheduling of patients.
  • Remind of outstanding tasks-notes need to be finished.
  • The billing statement that is sent to the patient is different than the one we can print out.
  • The invoice sent to the clinic for payment of EMR and other services should be on one statement instead of two.
The scheduling is easy to do. The tutorials are a great tool for finding answers to questions. Customer service, either through chat or email, is responsive. Bills for patients and clinics should be the same.

We use PT for both documentation, home, exercise program, billing, and scheduling for our physical therapy clients. It also allows us to communicate with clients through-the home exercise program and also text or email reminders. We also use the digital intake which helps save time in the office.

  • Allowing patients to confirm or cancel PT via text reminder
  • Mobile abilities
I think what PT is well-suited for practices. I will admit that I think it is quite expensive, but it’s a very small office and allows me not to have an office manager so that saves me a great deal of money because it does have many great features. I do wish that for very small office is like me. They had a better pricing option.

I use the product primarily for documentation but there are also great ways to track productivity. I can easily send notes to the doctors and communicate easily with my billers and schedulers. I also use the billing software that integrates with the product and that has reduced the number of steps I have to take to get my claims paid.
  • I can find patient charts very easily.
  • I can leave notes for my billing department and receive notes from them wherever they work from.
  • Pt program makes sure my documents are complete before I can finalize the notes.
  • If I lose my internet connection I am stuck without the ability to document.
WebPT helps me keep all of the information I need in one place. Obviously, I can access it from anywhere, but my documentation, billing, and scheduling are all linked. It has also been very helpful in making sure by documents are complete and up to standards before I can finish them.

WebPT is used to create health record, develop and assign HEP, and translates services rendered into billable charges and helps with sending charges out to the appropriate clearinghouses and insurances.
  • Smart text allows for shortcuts in typing into medical records
  • CPT used for daily documentation are easily transferred to billing component of software and easily sent out.
  • The system has a whole has frequent down times for updates and fixes that are not always conducive to being able to keep up with charting as you work through your day.
  • Getting customer service to help often times results in being transferred from one department to another as with different modules there it can be difficult to get a hold of a person to actually help with your issue with the particular module you are using (i.e. therabill, versus HEP, versus EMR.)
  • Getting any help with HEP component is almost impossible. You can not call in to talk with someone in that department for help. Most recently it took a rep 4 days to respond to an email regarding an issue I had been having with a major error in their HEP module. And even after establishing contact with someone in that department they seemed more eager to find a way to close the case unresolved than to help fix the issue I was having. When I asked for a call back they declined to do so and wanted to continue to have communication via email which at this point had slowed to a snails pace as far as response time. It's been almost 3 weeks and I still am having same issue and may change my entire EMR even though I have been using this system for years since I can not seem to find a resolution to the error, but even more frustrating I can not get anyone from that department on the phone.
Good for straight EMR and Billing. But if having a ther ex module that is integral part of overall charting process is important this software is falling short by large margin.

Our company uses WebPT as our EMR, scheduling, and documentation platform. WebPT is very user friendly and is very easy to train new staff members with. Most PT's right out of school have already used WebPT in some form, as well as the front office staff members.
  • Scheduling
  • Patient payment collection
  • Keeping practices up to date with insurance billing guidelines
  • The amount of times that WebPT goes down or has server issues in a week
  • Frequent scheduling issues; "changes not saved"
  • Drag and drop file upload in e-docs
Most therapists and front office staff have already had WebPT experience and doesn't require a lot of training for new hires. Very user friendly.

I use it to document my PT notes. It is easy to use, easy to customize my notes for both my pediatric and adult neurology and orthopedic Physical Therapy case load. It was the first system I wanted to buy when I got my company because I remember how great it was to use when I was a student.
  • Easy notes
  • Customize the notes
  • Has all of the special tests
  • System doesn’t always save work
  • Loses connection a lot
  • Too many details, takes too long
It is well suited for PT’s that have their own mobile company or a big company. It is easy to work with and you can learn the system intuitively. There are many easy to use options and I like how convenient it is. Also, you can fax right on webpt to the doctor.

In my role within my organization, I use WebPT mostly for viewing the patient's medical records or eDocs. I also use the calendar within the software and sometimes use the electronic benefit verification and analytic tools. I like the integration between WebPT and Therabill. I also find it very user-friendly especially with the option to batch print multiple records at the same time. It's also nice to be able to send faxes through WebPT. The missing notes report is also a nice function & helps us catch any charges that were not entered for appointments that did occur.
  • Great customer support whenever there are system issues or outages
  • Listens to user's feedback to make products more efficient
  • User-friendly software, easy to navigate
  • Navigation between patient and clinic accounts could be smoother
  • Could be more affordable for the nature of the software
  • Can sometimes be glitchy
WebPT is well suited for providers with smaller practices, and for patients who have simple cases. The note templates are very easy to follow, but the eDocs can be slightly unorganized if a patient has multiple documents that need to be scanned into their account. The batch print function is great for sending large files to a worker's compensation payer, but it can be glitchy at times. The practices I work with who use WebPT have little to no issues with the software, and working in the billing department, I typically don't encounter many issues either and find that I can complete my job duties easily.

When I decided to open my own physical therapy business, I evaluated several EHR, scheduling, and billing options. I ultimately chose to go with WebPT and Therabill as I felt they were the best fit for our needs. As a physical therapist myself, I felt confident in choosing a product that was initially developed by a physical therapist. I knew the software would tailor to our specific needs. Their platform is user-friendly and addresses the majority of our needs to run a business efficiently. The "add on" decision to purchase Therabill has helped tremendously with the billing and collections process as the information easily transfers over between systems.
  • The scheduler is easy to use and allows for a clear view of each clinical day, week, and month.
  • The authorization/visit limit functions really help in managing each case and assist in minimizing insurance denials.
  • The documentation is comprehensive and specific to physical therapy documentation. The ICD-10 lookup function is very helpful.
  • Transfer of claim information to Therabill really helps with timely claim submission.
  • Currently, patient appointment reminders are free via email but text message reminders are limited to a certain allotment per month. Given our current volume and the typical visits per patient case, the cost of text reminders for ALL patients is excessive.
  • Turnaround time on "help desk tickets" is slower than we would like.
  • The patient electronic intake form does not transfer much information into the EMR. Our PTs end up having to manually document most of this information, which takes additional time.
I would say that most PT companies should consider using WebPT as their EMR/scheduler and Therabill as their billing system, as their overall function is very good. The downside to WebPT is the cost compared to other EMRs out there, and it may be too much for smaller practices.
