Webroot's security awareness training program has proven to be highly effective in improving employee knowledge and progress monitoring. Users have reported that the program has successfully made the topic of cybersecurity more engaging and beneficial, overcoming the challenge of educating others on a potentially dry subject. The software has been valuable in meeting compliance requirements for PCI and GDPR, providing awareness training to ensure adherence to these regulations. Additionally, customers have experienced improved PC performance and better antivirus protection after switching to Webroot's product. The software has been instrumental in determining the level of cybersecurity competency among clients, helping them address the problem of system downtime and compromised data due to user error. By reducing support costs and enhancing overall security solutions, users have found that the Webroot product has made their job more lucrative. The software has effectively educated clients and users about cyber threats, vigilance, and safe online practices, making them more cautious about harmful links and suspicious content. Overall, the product has successfully addressed the lack of security awareness among end users, managers, and IT personnel, preventing security breaches and increasing organizational security.

Helpful Training Resources: Many users have found the training resources provided by Webroot to be extremely helpful for small to medium-sized businesses, with an interactive format that makes it easy for employees to learn and retain information. The HR department also appreciates the ability to monitor progress.

Ease of Use: Users praise the pure ease of use of the Webroot product, noting that it is simple to roll out and enforce throughout their organizations. The ability to pull reports on the status of the training was also appreciated.

Useful for Sales Roles: Some users have found the training particularly useful for their roles in sales, as it provides them with a solid understanding of the basics.

  1. Compatibility Issues: Some users have experienced difficulties with Webroot DNS enabled or the Webroot Web Plugin, which has led to web browsers blocking links from being opened, contradicting the purpose of the software.

  2. Lack of Customization: Users have mentioned that the available categories for finding specific resources to train on are not very specific. Additionally, they expressed a desire for more interactive sessions or projects that simulate real-life security breaches, allowing them to actively participate in preventing such breaches.

  3. Reporting Limitations: One user noted that they find it challenging to interpret and present data in a usable format due to the immaturity of the reporting feature. Similarly, another user expressed dissatisfaction with having to regularly review reports in order to determine who has clicked on links.

We use it just in our department. We have utilized it for testing and actual use within the company as well. We mostly use it to resell to clients. We arrange a time to send out the phishing emails, and then see what the results are. This is followed by sending out the training.
  • There is great personalization with email format.
  • Great reporting to view participant progress.
  • The licensing model is not as geared toward temporary usage. Licenses are encouraged to be paid for constantly.
It's perfect for helping train people on the dangers of phishing and what to look for. We've definitely seen a positive impact from before compared to after the training. I honestly can't think of a scenario where it wouldn't be appropriate. Phishing is dangerous to all employees of a company.
  • Our objective is to protect our clients, and it most definitely helps with that.
  • The platform allows you to measure who does what within the system. We've seen decreases in interaction with the test emails.
Webroot has always been very responsive and helpful with any questions. I can't recall ever having a negative support experience. We've never had to wait long to talk for a reason. Every person we have spoken to has been extremely knowledgeable and gotten us quick solutions and guidance.

We have implemented Webroot Security Awareness Training (SAT) across the entire firm, and also implement it for our clients. It has been an excellent product to determine the vulnerability of our/client staff members to phishing and other malware intrusion attempts, and has excellent training guides which has reduced recurrence by over 70%.
  • Test staff members with simulated phishing and malware emails/landing pages. Product has a very realistic payload.
  • Records detailed test results (delivered, read, click-thru's, etc) providing solid metrics to evaluate staff knowledge and track improvement over time.
  • Solid training videos that can be incorporated into landing pages explaining what the end user did incorrectly, and how to guard against such attempts in the future.
  • Other training collateral (posters, infographics, etc) that can be used by the client as teaching aids.
  • More industry-specific training modules, particularly those covered by federal and state data regulations.
  • Compact, graphic client/site reporting overview page (classic "Green-Yellow-Red" style) showing major areas for improvement, etc.
We have found that it works well across many industries and platforms. I recommend that time be allocated for in-person training on an annual or semi-annual basis with staff to reinforce the lessons given online. Randomized followup tests scheduled monthly or quarterly are important to keep staff apprised of latest threat models and be looking for those who may need more intense personal training.
  • As our clients IT dept, we have seen a precipitous drop (over 70%) in the number of "is this email bad?" service tickets, as their staff is better trained and equipped to self-evaluate these types of intrusions.
  • Likewise, the number if incidents related to malware/phishing has dropped by almost 90% when this was rolled out in addition to Webroot DNS filtering services.
We found that the Webroot Security Awareness Training product is easier to set up and deploy, and rolling out campaigns to our client base is a matter of minutes across all of our enrolled clients. Creating customized tests and campaigns is easy, and the whole product is integrated into the Webroot SecureAnywhere Global Sight Manager portal which allows us to manage and report on Endpoint Security, DNS Protection, and the SAT in one place.
