Wix: a simple and easy way to develop a website yourself
Wix gave me the easiest solution for building a website. The layout and designs were simple and effective. It helped increase my credibility by being able to exist as an artist on more than just social media. It also gave fans another way to feel connected to my brand and shop for merch.

They’re about the same in terms of quality except I get more for my buck using Squarespace which is why I have chosen to stick with Squarespace and stopped using Wix recently. I get the same deal with Squarespace, but for a lot less and that’s really important to me.

It seemed like the best choice at the time and the easiest simultaneously. I was transferring my site from someone who made it for me. I think the single most important factor was its usability was simple and easy to navigate as a beginner in designing and maintaining my own website.
I think I would raise more questions in reviewing the product purchase and explore the feature more thoroughly. That’s one thing I didn’t know to do since I had no prior experience. I would also hire a web developer to review it with me. That way they can show me exactly what it offers and if it would be a good fit verses other sites.

It was pretty Easy to learn without training. Any questions I had, I looked at any tutorials they had available on the web. I’d recommend it to those who are fairly savvy with technology, but not to someone who struggles with that. They might need more hands on training and help.

I cannot as I didn’t use their support really. I used this product over five years ago, so it’s difficult to remember too much about their support system and how often I used it. I mostly did everything on my own and then used google and Wix tutorials, since I didn’t have most of those features in my budget.

The domain connection for me to the host on Wix was confusing and overwhelming. I had little to no experience so I didn’t really know how it worked or what I needed ti do to to get it going. Paypal was fairly easy and so was SoundCloud. The step by step directions where pretty straightforward.
I haven’t used any of the above. I used Youtube, soundcoud, Paypal, Go daddy and a Spotify. I didn’t really use too much more. My needs were fairly simple at the time of purchasing and using Wix. I had not the knowledge nor the encouragement to use more than what I already knew.
One thing at a time and definitely take the time to get familiar and each thing you want to integrate before actually doing it. Look up tutorials if necessary and get help if you can’t figure things out solely on your own. Also take your time in general with the integration.

It was super smooth, all I did was update my payment and the plan and it was instant access to my Wix account website options. I updated from basic to a commerce store option. It was a very simple and efficient process to gain access. No issues or down time. No unexpected impacts.

Complete customization from start to finish
We have transferred over several of our business needs into Wix such as payment processing, email management, domain name hosting, and website building. Previously, we were using GoDaddy for our domain name, email management, and website hosting. Wix has helped us become more self-sufficient with more control over what we are publishing.
- Love the drag and drop system! It is completely customizable and helps you decide what you want so you do not have to have all the answers. Truly is a great option for nonprofits and businesses alike.
- Easy SEO management and clear reporting options. This helps us to have all of our website and external marketing on one platform WHILE understanding how it is working. We are able to make adjustments based on what visitors are responding to.
- Love all the widget options. Wix has several applications and add-ons to meet any needs you might have. We utilize this such as video publishing, blog, and several customizable button options.
- Since the website builder utilizes a drag and drop system, it can take a bit longer to load your page. It's a good idea to adjust the size of any photos or media that is inserted to help alleviate this problem.
- We signed up during a promotional period. Our contract has not expired yet but I am nervous that the prices take quite a jump after the initial contract period.
- There is great customer service but not a lot of help available online. I would like to see better help manuals.

GoDaddy was not user-friendly enough for our needs. Unfortunately, we did not have control over direct editing as we had no coding experience. Additionally, it was much more expensive and we found loopholes and additional fees at every turn. Wix's ease and transparency have really helped us improve in this area.

Mostly editing and testing. I am responsible for page creation and content creation whereas other employees are responsible for page management and updates. All users report that the platform is simple and responsive. Unfortunately, only one user can be on at a time or else changes will not save. The mobile site is great too!

As the administrator, I am responsible for support of Wix within the office. Customer service is available for any situation that arises that we can't figure out. I learned how to use the platform by myself through exploration and testing. It was very easy to learn, however, with several options, it is important to spend time consistently in the system to keep your skills up to date.

I had low expectations, but Wix is great for bloggers
It was used to redesign our website, which involved not only a design change but also migrating content that was scattered across a previous website and a blog. It is used by the whole organization to publish posts. I didn't expect much from Wix, but found it to be very user-friendly for those without coding experience. Each person in the organization has an account, and some have editing and/or publishing permissions.
- Easy to set fonts and color schemes.
- Various permission levels that can be implemented across the organization.
- Offers lots of app integrations.
- The drag-and-drop is a slow process.
- Bloggr integration would have been a huge asset.
- The Wix blog does not have an RSS feed.

We were initially going to use WordPress because we were skeptical of the SEO performance of a Wix site. However, WordPress is far from perfect on the SEO front, so we decided to give Wix a shot. In terms of SEO, there is no substantial difference between the capabilities of Wix, WordPress, and Weebly.

WordPress is much more involved and has a lot more tools. This is better for someone with more computer savvy, or who wants to have complete control of their design. Wix is similar to Squarespace in that its strength is in its templates that are simple to work with. You could get a very simple website up in an hour if you wanted to. I find Squarespace and Wix to be about on par with each other.
