Connect is being used to reprocess our credit and commissions data every night. It is used in the Sales/Finance department and allows us to keep the results consistent regardless of the changes made to it throughout the day. It also automates the 5 steps per calculation period to save time that would otherwise be needed to manage the reprocess.
  • Scheduled automation.
  • Data integration.
  • Process notifications.
  • Quality Assurance and reporting.
  • SQL isn't the same syntax in Connect as it is in Sequal Server Management Studio, making it difficult for communities outside of Xactly to help with certain issues.
  • Sometimes the scheduling part of the tool does not work as expected, but over all it is consistent.
Connect is well suited to pull data that you cannot easily pull from Incent or Analytics. It is also great for automating calculations and steps that you would otherwise need to manage manually.

We use Xactly Connect to help clients integrate various data sources (Salesforce, Workday, Netsuite, Microsoft, flat files) into Xactly for use in sales commissions calculations. It addresses the business problem of having to manually export data from these sources and do your commission calcs in Excel. It is typically only used in one department, which would be Sales Operations.
  • Direct integration into Salesforce. Which the majority of companies use for sales CRM.
  • Uses standard SQL and SOQL so any programmer with this skillset can pick it up easily.
  • The code is easily accessible through the Xactly UI. So anyone with an Admin login can look at and modify the code.
  • Constantly adding new features.
  • More direct integrations.
  • More extensive AI library.
  • Ability to pull from lookup tables in Incent and write back to lookup tables.
When the client has source data in Salesforce, Workday or flat files, it works really well. If the client has too much data, it can be really slow or require lots of preprocessing. It's often better to do as much of the calculations as you can in the configuration rather than on the Xactly Connect side. So that regular comp admins with Incent Connect training but no Xactly Connect are able to make changes.

Xaclty has simplified our compensation process. The implementation cost has paid back with dividends and continues to drive value within the Sales team. We have amazing support from the Xactly partners and trust them completely to provide best practices and solutions. All sales reps who interact with the software have praised the increase in visibility.
  • Flawless data integration
  • Helpful data checkpoints
  • Not intuitive
  • Difficult to 'self teach'
Xactly connect is well suited for any direct data feed, such as Salesforce, Workday, or any payroll function. It is not well suited for any manual data transfer or 'scrubbing.' It is also not well suited for small companies, as the upfront cost can be prohibitive. Additionally, it is necessary to have someone in-house to keep up the maintenance.
