We currently use Xactly for our whole Sales organization. We have just launched the system at the beginning of our fiscal year and we have successfully added 3 out of our 7 Sales departments into the tool. It's been the best thing to happen to our organization regarding compensation. Our success rate is high and our Sales teams love the interface. Previously, I was calculating commissions out of a Google spreadsheet; and while working on numbers manually can be easier to adjust, it was costing me my time to work on other tasks. Xactly helped me better my time management and prevented mistakes that I would make on a spreadsheet. I would always recommend Xactly to anyone who is dealing with complex compensation models. It's no wonder they are a top leader in their field.

  • Adjustments to orders can be a little complex (should be as easy as manually adjusting an order in a spreadsheet)
It has everything you need in a commission tool (and more). You get detailed reports that you can share to payroll and accounting, Sales Reps and managers can see all their closed deals in one window, and you can sleep at night knowing you do not need to provide over 50+ commission statements to people. Talk about getting your time back.
Although it's a great tool, it can always use improvements. It needs to be more modernized to how competitors are dishing out their compensation tools. It's really the tool you need for simple and accurate commissions for your organization.
We are constantly analyzing the trends on payments released and sending this data to stakeholders to better improve our sales organization. If we notice payments are usually higher in one team compared to others, it gives us an idea on how we can improve on these areas for future months and quarters.

We have used and implemented Xactly Incent internally and at customers to calculate and report on sales activity as well as revenue for our sales team, and Professional Services. [Xactly] Incent was used to manage scorecards and rankings for our sales leaders, and project teams. Professional Services and Sales use it to understand their pay requirements, while finance and sales ops use the analytics to drive better decisions for our leadership and customers alike. In most cases sales ops, sales and finance teams all use Xactly Incent because of the sharing of unified data. Customers have gone from inaccurate disjointed spreadsheets to global views providing the insight to better manage their business.

Xactly Incent does a great job when it comes to calculating commissions and the attainment of goals. Xactly [Incent] is by far the most comprehensive based on my years of experience deploying and using the product. It is so much easier to use than others we have deployed. Xactly [Incent] is great for larger companies or companies that have complex sales plans that require customization for your company's specific needs. It may not be well suited for smaller companies that don't have sales plan complexities or that can be handled by Excel spreadsheets or a simpler software.
Data insights is by far superior with Xactly Incent as it exposes details for analysis of the Sales plan, what's working or what requires adjustment. It can help identify where an team member may be need help to drive and improve the results. Very helpful to make the right decision when dealing and balancing sales and compensation requirements.

We use Xactly Incent to calculate and report on sales commissions for our sales team. We also use it for scorecards and rankings for our sales leaders. The finance, sales ops, and sales teams all use Xactly Incent since it pertains to their areas. Sales uses it to understand their pay and finance and sales ops use the analytics to provide information to our leadership to drive better decisions.

It's well suited for a company that wants a user-friendly and accurate commissions software to support their sales team. In my current company we don't use the Connect functionality to automatically get the data, but that ability to get information directly from Salesforce and other sources is great. I think if you have very one-off exception heavy plans, you won't get as much benefit from Incent (or any other commissions system).
We track types of sales, cost of sales, trends in companies, payouts etc. This year we have really built out the Analytics functionality to better understand trends etc. We also have been able to layer in some of our future sales forecasts to better forecast commission payments - even more relevant during Covid uncertainty.
It is a difficult system with more like back and forth messaging. I can't see tickets that others on my team have logged. It can be hard to get a real human answer or help.
It's easy to use and administrate. Our sales people like it.

Xactly Incent offers many programmable options required to design complicated and unique commission plans and calculate commissions automatically. The customer service team responds promptly to inquiries, and the case portal used to contact their team helps you track any issue from beginning to resolution. It is time-saving and helps us to reduce manual calculations for commission bonuses and other incentives. With Xactly Incent our team can be more productive and mitigate any risks or human error. Xactly Incent also helps sales reps to have visibility of their monthly commissions earned through their incentive statement.

The only complaint I would have about Xactly Incent is the unavailable feature to edit the address in a user's profile. Also, the capability of exporting all of the user profiles to excel would be a huge win, but it is not currently available.
Accounting uses the calculations from Xactly Incent to accrue and book commission expenses for the company. Payroll uses the commission calculation from Xactly Incent to pay the Salesforce.

We use Xactly Incent to calculate commission & bonus payments for our US sales team. The sales team logs in to view their monthly & quarterly details via their incentive statement. The accounting team uses it to produce monthly accruals and to send final payout amounts to payroll for processing. The finance team logs in to download the monthly data to update an attainment reporting dashboard (in PowerBI).
  • Incent is very user friendly. It is easy to navigate and find the information you want even if you have never logged in before or have had no official training.
  • Calculations are able to run quickly, even when data sets are large and plans are complicated with multiple criteria/rules. This is extremely important when in a time crunch and needing details ASAP!
  • It is very easy to customize Incent to fit any need or want for an organization.
  • My biggest issue with Incent is that I am unable to download the same details that I upload. My company has 27 additional, custom columns, that are uploaded each month. When I navigate to Results > Commissions or Credits, I am only able to download the 'standard' fields. There is no option to download the additional custom fields that were loaded.
  • The Named Relationships section can be difficult to work with. It is easy to accidently load a new version of data that deletes what was previously there.
  • When loading orders, there is no error that pops up if the 'Batch Name' is accidently unique for each row. Each upload should have one batch name but I have mad the mistake of accidently dragging down a number that increases with each row making each line it's own batch and making it a nightmare to delete the mistake (you must delete one by one).
I feel that Xactly Incent is great for calculations and showing in a 'statement' like view for individuals but does not provide many options for viewing or reporting at a higher level. It's difficult to see attainment between two or more groups/positions.
We are currently using the credit detail from Xactly Incent to populate a dashboard in our company's PowerBI system. Originally we built the details into Xactly Analytics but the sales team wanted additional details that were not easily provided through Analytics and the decision was made to move everything to PowerBI due to the increased flexibility.

Xactly Incent is used throughout our sales department to measure our progress within quarters and throughout the year vs targets/quotas. Xactly Incent gives us more clarity and transparency in our progress throughout the quarters and years to hit our targets and payouts (quarterly, annually, bonuses and other incentives). Access to Xactly Incent allows us to manage and adjust our day to day to align with the Purolator's targets.

I have been at my company for three years now and love having the Xactly Incent tool. Overall, Xactly Incent does exactly what it is intended to do. It helps communicate plan performance and also provides transparency to view up to date results so [that the] sales team can adjust and align goals throughout the year to be compensated even with complex compensation plans. It would be nice if Xactly Incent was updated in real-time. At the moment for our company, it is updated once a week (this could be an internal issue reflecting numbers from our other software that needs to be export to Xactly).
This is handled at a higher level by a different team.

Xactly Incent addresses the automation of commission calculations, along with the ease of accessibility for performance for the sales reps. It also helps managers understand where their sales reps are individually and as a team. We accomplish error free calculations and transparency to end users.

Analytics report writing is not the cumbersome. Getting a pay to performance all in one report is difficult. Stack Ranking report should be easy as it is a report that is built into dashboards, this should not have to be a report that needs to be built with formulas. There should be some standard pay to performance metric reports out of the box that should have to be paid for with Insights. Insights could be a great product but does not allow for the granularity that is needed for our organization.
Performance Analytics allow us to see how the comp plan is performing vs sales results. It also allows us to see where we may be paying too much or too little.

It gives transparency to the sales team and allows us to easily calculate their commissions.
  • Easy and straightforward for the sales team to look at their deals and payout.
  • There is functionality for every single aspect of a sales plan that your org needs.
  • It's very customizable.
  • User interface has been improved but could still use some work.
  • A little over-complicated at times-- lots of steps to accomplish a small goal.
  • Sandbox instance is more trouble than it's worth to use.
Xactly is great for larger companies or companies with complex sales plans since it's easy to customize for your specific needs. It would probably be harder to use for smaller companies that don't have as many sales plans than it would be for them to just work out of Excel or a simpler software.
We haven't been able to get any Xactly analysis up and running so we usually work in excel out of Xactly downloads and salesforce reports. We use this to inform sales planning and details about how much we are paying per dollar made or how much we are paying certain people, etc.

We are currently using Xactly Incent within our Sales organization to calculate attainment to goal and commissions earned. We also use it to route the yearly Plan Acknowledgement Forms to the teams for approval. Using Xactly Incent eliminated the need of processing commissions manually in Excel spreadsheets and then needing to email out to all the individual users for approval. Now everything is uploaded into one area and the individuals can go in at any time to view their current, past and estimated future commissions. It's a huge time saver and there is less room for errors using Xactly Incent.

Xactly Incent does the job when it comes to calculating commissions and the attainment of goals. Our leaders are extremely pleased that they can go into Incent at any time and review their team's performance as well as their own. I love that we can create monthly guarantees and it Incent will automatically generate the amount due on the monthly commission files. I no longer need to remember to add those in. Since Xactly Incent is integrated with Salesforce that's a huge plus for our teams as they can use Single Sign-On to log in and view their commission statements.
Creating new plans, using a pay curve, assigning target incentives and appropriate goals that align with the territory they are reps assigned to has improved the way we've calculated compensation and in return, helps us to retain high-performing employees.

Since we started using Xactly, our data is very stable and no more inquiries from the sales team regarding their incorrect attainment and commissions. I also like the fact that everything sits in one place like the signed sales plan. This makes it easy when it comes to audit time.
  • Xactly is constantly improving their products. I like the fact that they now have Connect for us to use. That way, we don't have to depend on their DELTA team if we need to make any changes on our end.
  • The new user interface navigation looks really clean and user friendly
  • It will be nice if we can make versioning steps easier if someone moves from one role to another.
  • Calculated quotas cannot be accessed from analytics.
  • If we can have the uploading word doc for sales plan into text section keeps the formatting the same as the word doc. Currently, when we upload, I have to go in and reformat the whole doc in Xactly.
Xactly by far is the best product/tool based on my years of experience using it. It is so much easier to use compared to Callidus. In Xactly, you can view detailed credits and commissions and Callidus is not able to and Callidus does not have the YTD Attainment view compared to Xactly.
We are working with AGI to do some benchmarking. As for sales performance analytics, I do use the Analytics module.
This is because after using Xactly for more than 10 years and my experience with their service is phenomenal.
I think there are still room for improving on some features. In technology things revolve all the time. There is always room to improve.

At Alight Solutions, we use Xactly Incent to administer the majority of our North American Sales Incentive Plans for our Sales Executives, as well as our first line Sales Managers and Sales Leaders. Using Xactly Incent has improved transparency and decreased calculations errors by more than 50%.
  • User-friendly for the sales team and administrators.
  • Support has become top notch, very responsive, and helpful.
  • Ease of being able to drill down into the detail.
  • Customized and flexible configuration.
  • Analytics reporting refresh upon reprocessing incentives. The time has been improved, but it is still lengthy.
  • The analytics data connection between source data. Many data source tables don't work well together.
  • Setting the time for processes to run can be tricky when you are processing incentives for multiple times/zones.
I have been in compensation for many years. For commissions based on transactional data, [Xactly Incent] is an amazing tool. However, this is not a tool for calculating incentives on aggregated sales data, which oftentimes our company does when implementing SPIFFs.
Comparing performances amongst our sales teams has enabled our sales leaders to gauge the effectiveness of our plans. [We ask the questions] is it driving the right behaviors and do we have the right colleagues in the correct sales roles?

Xactly Incent is being used in Financial Services Business Unit in HPE. Incent makes the sales compensation process auditable, stable, and consistent. It's cloud-based so all data is synced and all administrators see the same data. Updates are pushed to all users, and there is just one cloud-based instance. Rules and Formulae are easily maintained and updated in Incent. It's also easy to tell how the credits are generated for a salesperson.
  • Customer Portal is a great platform for Xactly users to come together to discuss new ideas and methods.
  • Release of new features regularly.
  • Clear and repeated communication for key updates.
  • More documentation (text or video) would be good. Some features are not intuitive. For example, quota relationship and pay curves.
  • Formula creation [could be] made easier. It's not always easy to find out what's wrong with the formula.
  • Allow items in queue to be rearranged by dragging (as opposed to arrows currently).
  • Allow more customization of Incentive Statements. For example, transaction details, the look of it (colour, arrangement, gauges).
  • Incentive statements reflect results immediately (no 15min lag).
Xactly Incent works okay for us. Incent might be less appropriate for customers with very huge data sets. It will simply take too long for calculations to take place. Incent might also be less suitable for customers with frequent and a lot of data changes in past periods. We find updating past periods to be a very time-consuming and laborious process.
We have commission forecasts to try to manage the commission costs. Also, before we roll out new sales plans, we model what the commission costs will look like using the proposed sales plans.

Xactly was introduced to Schindler Elevator Corporate in 2018 and we used it as a platform to build the incentive system for the sales team (both New Installations and Existing Installations).
  • It is a friendly user interface.
  • It is linked to the company database.
  • It is a dynamic system.
  • When adding more triggers to evaluate the eligibility, it shows that the system has challenges to adapt to the changes.
  • For example, if adding the DBA (collection status) as a trigger, the system cannot automate the calculation.
  • The system also does not clarify if the sales orders are being paid by the customers or not as a trigger to pay the sales rep. The customer needs to pay 50/50 even if the sales order is being canceled.
Incentives are being calculated manually by Excel.

Xactly Incent is being used to calculate Sales Representatives' Commissions payout worldwide. It also helps us to generate all the Compensation Plans, such that the Sales Reps can access them and their managers can approve them through the system.
  • It's really easy for all sales employees to check their Incentives Statement, even manager can check all the information about their team.
  • It's great for generating compensation plans and managers can easily approve them in the system.
  • It's really easy to make any quota or other personal information updates when needed.
  • Visually it doesn't look so good, looks a bit outdated, so I really hope that the coming update makes it better.
  • About the compensation plans, it would be good to have an option to download all the available plans, right now you can just download them one by one.
It's great for any company who want to have a better control on their commissions payouts.
I'm not really in charge of that, but I assume this is being used by Revenue Ops and FP&A.

We started to use Incent in 2012 and replaced older system to meet business needs. It is used by Sales Operations department, Human Resources and Finance for Sales Compensation purposes and performance. It really eliminates all manual work that would be done by the old style. It addresses the in real time results as it provides information up to date. It is flexible on changes minor and major changes in your comp calculations. Great tool overall.

Data insights is a good addition to the Xactly Incent as it shows valuable details for analysis of the Sales plan, if it works well or require adjustment. Where person may be needs help and directions to improve the results. Very considerable and helpful to make the right decision when dealing with sales and compensation balance.

It is currently being used as the commission payout system. It is being used by Sales and Finance. It automates a lot of our processes in order to allow accurate quarterly payouts.
  • Quarterly commission payout.

  • The new left hand menu is not as user friendly due to how the eyes generally look at the system.
  • The layout is archaic; should revamp completely or go back to what was previously there.

If your organization goes through constant changes such as mid quarter changes, Xactly is perfect if you have an admin that understands how the system works and can do updates on the go. If your company is currently using Excel as a commission system, Xactly is the perfect transition because it allows you to reduce the amount of time you use to spend creating reports; now you can sit back and analyze.
By looking at the payments per segments and region, we can understand how the plans for the same titles have a different impact on the sales rep. From there, it allows us to accurately adjust plans and variables to be more competitive in the industry while still still keeping a balanced approach to the overall comp plan.

We use it for sales, sale engineer, SDR, PS, and CS commissions. Our comp plans can be complicated and there are several components to keep track of for each. We're solving for paying commissions accurately and providing visibility into how commissions are calculated. We also have spiffs added in the middle of the year.

It's well suited if for medium complexity, finance or ops driven commission calculation. It works well when customers have a Salesforce admin as well to create the fields and formulas needed in SFDC to make the xactly implementation easier for the admin.
We do monte carlo analysis every year to make sure we arent coming up with any crazy incentives and stick to industry benchmarks for overall commission rates. The majority of the work goes into the account executives as that is where the largest quantity is and where the biggest risks are.

Our company uses Incent across two departments - Commissions and Sales. Commissions uses Incent as a tool to help make complicated commission rules and processes more automated. The sales department uses Incent as their main hub for all things commission and quota attainment related. We also use Incent's messaging feature [to] send out important documents like comp plans and terms and conditions for approvals.
  • Simplified, easy to access and use UI for sales reps.
  • The ability to make mid-period changes to objects.
  • Mobile App and Salesforce integration experiences are both very fluid and feel native to each platform.
  • Would like to see more automated functionality around calculating annual quota attainment for sales reps that span multiple roles/quotas in a year period.
  • More functionality with the Incentive estimator.
  • Some sort of notification system for sales reps when new orders have been processed.
For companies with a simple business model and straightforward sales org, it is a very useful tool. If your sales org has multiple divisions, teams, plan types, etc. it’s hard to keep things standardized across all divisions, especially when there is lateral movement of reps amongst and between different teams.
We have multiple different sales teams and product types at our company, and within each team there are several unique comp/quota levers and rules for when and how you make a sale. With Xactly, we’ve been able to quickly isolate something as basic as accelerators and determine if we are applying them too early or not early enough across the sales org.

Xactly is a top-notch system that can handle all kinds of incentive scenarios. However, it also requires a lot of maintenance to keep running effectively post-implementation. I would not recommend this system for a company that is looking to achieve cost savings through automation and the reduction of compensation specialist headcount. In all likelihood, you will need to increase your staffing on the HR side to effectively maintain the system. However, Xactly can provide cost savings in terms of its ability to accurately calculate commissions for a large organization. Cost savings can be achieved through the reduction of calculation errors, miscommunication of results to employees, etc.
We regularly use data from Xactly Incent to monitor compensation expenses across a wide variety of metrics. Xactly Incent proved very useful to us in identifying business units that were overpaying employees and reducing profitability. It also allows us to easily calculate average payouts for individual roles/job bands, etc.

We use Xactly to calculate commission earnings and payments, for sales reps in the US. Commissions are earned upon booking the sale and paid upon invoicing and cash collections. Xactly is able to manage the phases of payment. Unfortunately, it does not handle the foreign currency requirements for our foreign sales reps.
  • The ability to break up the opportunity to pay commissions in stages saves significant time that would otherwise be spent updating spreadsheets.
  • Once you get through the first year of set-up, tracking and duplicating commission plans across reps and rolling plans from year to year is easy!
  • The visibility of results against quota gives reps and managers real time status.
  • We have never been able to build a direct interface to our G/L. Therefore, we upload opportunities and release information each month. This is the reason I have never highly recommended the tool. It helps tremendously with the calculations, which is why we use it. But the first few manual steps are frustrating.
There is not a direct interface with MS Dynamics/Great Plains. The second issue is foreign currency. Therefore, we enter opportunities and releases in USD at the date it closed. So when the payment is made the converted USD never matches exactly. Therefore, Xactly can't match the release. The other scenario where a payment won't match exactly is a wire fee.

[Xactly] Incent is extensively used by our Sales Organization to manage all details of the monthly commissions. It provides targets, information on the sales activity being measured and the commission due to the Salesperson for the measured activity. Each month I provide each Salesperson their a download of their Sales activity and they in turn compare the detail to their own sales records for accuracy. After all adjustments are completed and submitted, I then provide a monthly summary of the commissions earned by person and forward to the General and Sales Manager for final review. Then if everything is approved, we upload an approval document.
  • The best part of Incent is the "drill down". I need to see the detail to be able to review the sales activity. I find the drill down feature easy to use and fast.
  • Next, I like that I can see the commission that is being paid out by each component of sales. Often times a salesperson is confused or unsure of what their commission should add up to be and this provides a good detailed explanation.
  • The "on-line" approval is easy to complete and the review summary is also convenient.
  • Honestly, I find the program very easy to use and also easy to train others to use. Our internal procedures are sometimes less convenient, but this is no fault of Incent.
Where Xactly Incent is best suited, is for helping the Salesperson see the details of how their commission is calculated. For our company, there are a number of different components to calculate commissions and I find it an excellent program. I also like that the all our Sales team members can also access Incent and conduct their own initial review anytime.
I often like to review the detail of the Lost Business. Our organization does it's best to divide the reason for losses and I can see some detail on the reason when I drill down. A good example is the "change of owner" category included in lost business. <br><br>The same goes for New Business. I am able to quickly look at prior months and put together a trend of new sales if needed for a review of a Salespersons results.

Xactly is used by our US and International sales team members. We also warehouse bonuses which are calculated externally to have a one source location.
  • Easy to upload batches.
  • The admin can perform certain processes without waiting until process cycles occur.
  • User can easily access the system.
  • Setting up calendars so that they appear on the Analytics reporting needs to be improved, There are entirely too many steps in this process and I always have to have the Support team assist with this process.
  • Needs to have a method so if one rep in a batch has an error, you do not have to remove, re-upload, and process the entire batch.
  • It would be great if actions taken would have immediate updating to the various reports, so you are not waiting on the 2 hour processing to occur to see the results.
If an organization does smaller batch processing and there transactions are not complex, I think Xactly would be the perfect choice, however the more complex the compensation plans are, I seem to run into issues setting them up in Xactly.

Xactly Incent is currently being used by our company to manage our global commissions process. There is one central team that maintains the people records, and a few individual teams across the globe that process the commissions portion. On a monthly basis, these teams upload the company's results and utilize Incent to calculate commission payments for our sales employees. Because of Incent, we are able to customize plans for our individual sales teams, which makes processing these commission payments a lot easier.

Xactly Incent is a great tool for large companies with complex sales plans, large amounts of data, and companies with a large populations of sales employees. Once a sales plan is established in Incent, the tool makes is easy to process commissions on a routine basis.
We rely on data extractions from Xactly Incent, as well as their Analytics platform in order to create monthly analyses of how the company performed.
