- Xactly Analytics reports are easy to use and help deep dive into sales numbers and financials for the company.
- Xactly Administrators are able to easily set up the incent tool and allow for greater automation of the company's sales commissions process. Extremely user-friendly for admins.

- PPP (prior period processing) is pain staking and takes up a lot of time.
- Currently, only the Sales Management and Executives are easily able to build reports and view team results. Sales Reps should also be given the ability to build advanced-level reports.
Xactly Incent is great, but...
I have used Xactly Incent for over 7 years and it does have its pros and cons.
Pros: One place to view incentive statement for quotas, revenues, attainments, and payments. Easy to route and approve plan documents.
Cons: The system has so many limitations. Xactly engineers tend to focuse on non-important enhancements instead of tackling real system bug issues.
- Can configure sales plan calculations for even the most complex of plans.
- One central place for record keeping of quotas, revenues, payments, and plan documents.
- Once data is updated, sales reps can view it instantly.
- Easy to route and approve sales plans.
- Although Xactly Incent is a great tool, it has so many challenges. It does not have drill-in features for all the data that is uploaded to the system.
- Finalizing a monthly calculated period is quite cumbersome, and un-finalizing can be a nightmare.
- Xactly Incent engineers focus more on aesthetic enhancements instead of day to day challenges that users face.
- In order to un-finalize one business group, you need to reopen and unfinalize ALL business groups. This can cause issues and errors.
- In the incentive statement, can't drill in to see what the actual draws were for. Would be helpful to see if the draw was recoverable, non-recoverable, etc.
- Would be great if can enter bonus or payment adjustments directly similar to a draw payment.
- When a payment amount is drilled into to see the details, there is no "close" button.
- I wish the system would calculate final payment amount for review without having to close out the period.
Where it is less useful is the reporting capabilities. It has lots of room for improvement. Also, calculations in the system can be streamlined to make them less complex. In addition, Xactly engineers tend to focus on non-important enhancements that don't have much value instead of fixing the small issues that can make a huge difference.

- Economies of Scale - With Incent a plan is built once, and then it does not matter if you have 1 or 1,000 employees running on the plan. If the underlying calculations are accurate for one individual they will be for the rest as well.
- Plan Customization - In a global environment where a sales organization can have very different goals, approaches, and methodologies depending on region, product, or team, it is important to have a range of compensation plans available to motivate in different ways. Incent provides the means to create almost any type of plan imaginable as long as it can be defined by specific rules of operation.
- Troubleshooting - Incent is very good at crunching numbers, however when those numbers do not add up to what you are expecting, the troubleshooting process can be cumbersome.
- Plan Administration - Once a plan is fully built there is almost no ongoing maintenance, however the initial buildout is not always intuitive. This is something that Xactly is actively working on improving, so, looking forward to the new process.
Where Incent does not work well is for subjective commissions. This would be in cases where every deal sold by a rep needs to be treated differently, or every rep has their own compensation scheme, or compensations schemes are subject to multiple changes throughout the year.

- Reporting for the individual salesperson to review their account.
- Search functionality to look across the business for managers.

- Not great for Channel Partners - they want multiple logins for one account.
- Cannot push out statements in an automated way to external partners.
- Integration with other systems is not easy.
It is not as suited when paying large partners who want access to the system for multiple users. Each partner account can only be set up with one login email. We cannot automate pushing out of statements to partners using the email set up and have to manually email the statements. The Channel partner programs change quite often and not easy to update the system easily and a lot of work gets done outside of Xactly.

- Inconsistent updates. Sometimes numbers are different over multiple refresh of the same page in the same time frame.
- Dashboard feature not enough customizable.

- Looking for specific transaction/record is not straightforward.
Not "Xactly" a flexible tool
- Modern user interface.
- Simple system configuration interface.
- Document builder (example: Comp plan agreement form).
- Workflows (to route documents from manager to rep for approval).
- Very informative Xactly community forum (extremely helpful in learning Xactly config rules).
- Not flexible (cannot handle very complex comp plans. We end up entering the final commission amount to the system).
- Limited automation (daily data import/calculation require custom Xactly Connect Code).
- No proration built in (requires admin to type in the prorated variable pay amount).
- Built in draw functionality does not meet business needs.
- Does not display negative balances until you finalize (lock) the period.
- Incentive Statements updates (every 15 mins) as you are running calculations which will display partial/wrong results to the sales reps. This limits how many calculations you can do during work hours, often requiring the admin to calculate outside of work hours. Our previous ICM product would only update statements once the calculation is done.
- Everything is case sensitive (even your email) and orders table does not accept symbols.
- A lot of annoying requirements when importing Excel files to the system. (A lot of trial an error until the file gets imported.)
- Hidden settings that are not taught during training.
- Person record errors can be very time consuming to fix as there are a lot of parts the system you have to go into to correct.
- No multi select delete functionality (you have to delete things one by one, but you can import as much as you want).
- IT has to rely on Xactly Support for most issues such as issues in Xactly connect integration (this has increased our time to resolve issues).
- If your business only wants to feed Xactly Incent the final results (answers) and have it display them.
- If your business does not want automation.
- if your business wants to do everything manually.

- There are a lot of options in Xactly, so you are usually able to accomplish anything you need.
- They have had pretty regular updates so there are always improvements being made.
- They have a community portal that allows you to provide ideas and vote on other people's ideas for things that aren't currently accessible in Incent.
- They could have the ability to download more data easier. For example, you can only export a few things in Excel, it would be nice if they would expand that in more areas.
- The formula and rule writing could be more user-friendly, maybe provide a more basic formula writing experience.
- I would like to see more customizability on the incentive statement. There are fairly limited options and it seems like adding more options would make it more useful.
