Xactly Incent is great for taking care of Sales Commissions

Basically Finance is who takes care about anything related to Xactly and we also have IT to help us in case we need it. The skills required for supporting Incent were basically acquired with the initial training provided.

To support Xactly requires minimum 1 person as business administrator with knowledge of Sales Compensation, Finance skills, Analytical skills, Technical skills, It could vary from the complexity and changes if need to be completed. IT developers with SQL code knowledge to support to implement the required changes as they occur for instance once a year, may be more often, may be random once in 2 -3 years.

Xactly Incent, The Right Solution For Our Organization

Full disclosure, we love Excel and we love spreadsheets. Incent doesn't eliminate spreadsheets and everyone on our team would be considered Advanced Excel users. That being said, Excel is a tool and not a solution. Administering comp out of Excel is not nearly productive, effective, and efficient as Incent.
Incent allows all of our Admins to engage with sales leadership and be an active partner instead of someone who is disconnected from the sales process and "behind the curtain".

Xactly is very easy to use and lots of training is available. Anyone can learn to support Xactly.
Helpful skills include, understanding of commissions and sales processes, understanding compensation plans, general software knowledge, analytical, detail orientated, math skills, and understanding of who formulas work

trainable, strong analytical skills. When I went for my initial training in 2011, I had no prior experience with Incent. Because of the support I received from Customer Service Support and the professional development team, I was able to pick it up fairly quickly.

No one has IT skills that actually support or are "real" users. Most are just loading data to FTP and click the Delta run jobs on the site. There is one person (me) for the Indirect sales commissions that actually have experience making plan, rule and formula changes. I learned on my own with some guidance from the Xactly person that coded our plans, and mostly because I enjoyed the challenge.
