Paylocity provides 24/7 access to your online payroll and human resource data management. Paylocity offers highly customizable payroll functionality, as well as HR, benefits administration, and time and talent management programs.
We ultimately chose Paycom over Paylocity because we felt the user experience (both administrative and employee) was more intuitive. And we also felt an authenticity from all individuals at Paycom who met with us prior to our decision.
Paylocity is more visually appealing but Paycom is far superior in every other way! Paycom has better reporting features, makes payroll super easy, makes it easier for employees to see their payroll information and file, and has better customer service. I have enjoyed my time …
ADP and Paylocity are terrible, especially in comparison to Paycom! Both are piece-milled systems that are archaic. I had a terrible experience with both systems and, in all honesty, when I look for another job if they are using either of these systems it will be a deal-breaker …
After using all the big-name platforms when I was doing HR consulting, Paycom is my favorite. The only one that comes close is Paylocity, but I choose Paycom due to the better customer service and ease of use of the platform.

I like how much more user friendly Paycom was than Paylocity.
Paycom seems to be more robust than Paylocity and offers more of the features we need and could use. Paychex Flex didn't offer all the areas we were looking for and doesn't have the features we want. We were looking for a system that could perform well in several areas of HR, …

In my opinion, UKG and ADP our the worst products, customer service is terrible. They could literally pay me to use their product and I would still choose Paycom over them. Paylocity was our number 2 pick. They seemed like they could have done an ok job, but Paycoms ease …
Paycom is very similar to ADP but better. ADP was more rigid in certain areas. I did not have issues with ADP. Paylocity... their system was falling apart. I would get kicked out of the time card system, holiday pay would remove itself from an employees time card and I was …
In my opinion, ADP is a clunky system that has many positives, but overall I think it is not user friendly and doesn't have the majority of the tools we want as we continued pushing our company forward. I believe Paycom has many more tools, is more user friendly and our …
ADP's customer service was not what we expected, and its platform did not always work as it should. Paylocity offered many great features, but we were looking for a more efficient way to process payroll.
As a whole we were able to get everything we needed in one place from Paycom. The others were not necessarily awful, we just could do more of what we needed with Paycom. And, honestly, the customer service (Brandon) sold us as much as anything. Paycom worked with us on costs, …

We selected Paycom for its functional, user-friendly platform. They continue to make improvements and add features that are beneficial to HR and Payroll professionals.
Paycom offers better customer service and account management, better overall communication, more efficient services; implementation was outstanding, the people who handled our account and implementation were always so helpful, knowledgeable, available and made us feel heard and …
We selected Paycom because of the user-friendly features for HR staff and all employees. It has been easy to implement, learn, and utilize. We also are saving significant money by switching to Paycom.
Paycom was the service that met all of our needs at the best value. Others are more expensive or lacked all of the operational items that we wanted to cover.
Paycom is head and shoulders above the above mentioned products. Other products over promise and under deliver, are not as user friendly or do not have as many modules as Paycom.
Paycom has greater functionality than the other companies, plus their application is owned/managed by Paycom and does not include external third-party software plug-ins, which is something that was very important to our company.
Paycom was better suited to our needs at the time. The cost, both initial setup and annual cost, were less than both of the other companies we interviewed.
We ended up selecting Paycom as we thought it was the best match for our organization. We were looking at a few factors: service, communication, technology, functions/capabilities, reporting and of course financials. While Paycom wasn't the cheapest option, in fact, one of the …
Paycom looked very dated but had decent functionality. BambooHR is for smaller companies. Paylocity was a great price and platform switching from ADP TotalSource. Used Paycor at another company I worked for an did not have great customer service experience.
From what I have used, Paycom is the one closest but I still prefer Paylocity because is way more user-friendly with Payroll processing, timesheets, accruals, and reporting. Paycom is cumbersome, the customer service is just okay and the platform is "rigid", employees don't …
The reason we went with Paylocity over Paycom was we received better reviews on their customer support. I have used Paycom with other companies and found that it is decent software. Of course, any HRIS software is going to beat out QBs. QBs do not do well with groups of …
Gusto is horrible, and Paylocity blows it out of the water. Paycom and Paycor and comparable, but for us it came down to the price, and the relationship that we established with our account manager and sales representative. Mike Vezzoli was excellent and was incredibly genuine …
Paycom and Paylocity were very close in offerings and cost. We used ADP previously and we were not satisfied. Paylocity fit our needs and seemed to be priced competitively.
Pretty well, HOWEVER, Paycom has committed that if we switch over to their product, they commit to a $12,000 Event Sponsorship over the next three years. I have NOT found where I can even ask for this in Paylocity.
This is much better than Paycom, and much simpler than Dayforce. Paylocity does have some limitations, and as we grow bigger we may run into some issues with it. For now, it works well. Some things don't make sense but I eventually figure it out. We will see scalable it is and …
Friendlier user interphase. It is easier to automate manual, time-consuming tasks and customize workflows to streamline all the areas of the organization. It keeps employees connected Effortlessly, with communication and collaboration tools they actually enjoy using. Paylocity …
ADP did not have the ease of use when it came to submittal of travel and expenses and tracking. Paylocity has been a game changer for me in this process allowing employees to enter the information and uploading the necessary paperwork, thus less room for errors. Employees are …
The employee interface is easier for employees to use and understand. Provides them with the access needed to edit their information. Encourages employees and managers to participate in different areas, such as performance reviews and time keeping. The ability to track …
I think that Paylocity offers better UI (User Interface), better Payroll services and Report pickups. Although employee records and onboarding process all really seem similar, I think Paylocity stands out because of the attention to detail that agents really help us out. I love …
Paycom has really helped us to configure our timecards and payroll to fit our unique pay structure. The system made it easy for staff to understand and not just the payroll/HR department. We use paper pay checks, and the system uses the "home location" for delivery which is not necessarily where the employee works, just where they pick up their check. If we used direct deposit, I am sure that would not be an issue.
I've been a Paylocity user for the last 6 years therefore I am proficient at Paylocity. Paylocity has helped me recently get 3 policies per person (261 * 3) signed off on by using the workflows dashboard. I think they can improve how the workflows are set up on their homepage when they log into the app. So whereas its helped get the employees to sign on their own time, it also would make it easier if it was easier to find on the mobile app.
Customer Support- Jaco Lau and Jeff Sullins have been highly responsive to all of our needs and customizations
Customization capabilities - we have had to build an End-To-End performance management system that now fits and meets our needs
Functionality - the tools and intuitive use of Paycom makes for a great user-experience. Our employees are already embracing it and have expressed gratitude for moving to this new platform.
A candidate being able to save progress on their application is really a must as they can't leave and come back to their application without having to restart, i.e. if they need to get a phone number for a reference for example.
Could use more room in entering the job for internal notes.
Quirky when doing cut and paste of job details that leaves spaces that aren't in the document being pasted.
We've made the mistake of moving away from Paycom to a PEO which had made a lot of promises, that they could not keep. Less than a year after that transition, we returned to Paycom and are happier than ever.
We have had many issues with the way our platform was set up at implementation that still continue to plague us. In addition, our benefits, in particular our FSA, have been mis-managed causing a balance due from an employee (and also a lot of work for our accounting and HR team, as well as stress for the employee). Our service rep continues to answer incorrectly on many fronts (original response is usually check out this paylocity article, vs. helping) and recently our COBRA management was mishandled (not adding Dental to a person on Cobra who had requested it). So- all in all...we are not particularly happy w/ Paylocity
The system is very user friendly. Once you navigate where your information is stored under the forms you are golden. While the training amplified my capabilities and knowledge, I could have jumped into the system without and training and managed just fine. This probably one of my favorite parts about Paycom!
Overall, in my experience, Paylocity has been easy to use for both staff and administrators. First, the staff has an application and inputting Paid Time Off is easy to do. I then get an alert on my app and I am able to approve it on the spot from my app that gives me access as an employee and an administrator without having to use multiple apps or logins. As an administrator I think the portal is easy to use, Paylocity did a great job showing me tools and rolling out training classes before rollout.
Paylocity support is always available and I never have to wait endlessly on hold. If our dedicated account manage is not available, there is an entire team assigned to our account. Every one of them is knowledgeable about our organization and Paylocity's process.
Our TSR has been wonderful to work with. Every step of the way he was quick to respond and answer any questions we had. I knew I could reach him at any time (day or night) and he would be available to assist. Implementing a new HRIS system is obviously a huge task and I contribute all our success to our rep Kurt! Of course, with any implementation, there were bumps along the way and issues. But I always knew we would work as a team to get those issues figured out. Working in the Paycom system has been smooth and easy to learn and I enjoy the employee self-service interface. Our managers have had positive things to say and are all excited about the changes we have been able to make to our organization due to Paycom being implemented.
Everyone wants immediate assistance. Awaiting a response from an email only to ask 2-3 more questions is time consuming. Within the first six months of setup, I would rather respond back to the instructors who provided me the training in each category of my contract.
I didn't have in-person training, but I'm sure it was just as great as any other training/assistance Paylocity provides. Paylocity customer service is always available. You never have to be on hold and their answers are always accurate and timely. Documents in the help section are helpful as well.
All the online training modules were short and straight to the point. Every module teach you how to use the system. If there is one thing they know how to do is training. We did implementation during the pandemic so all had to be done online or via zoom meetings.
The training was live online, but was with a group of other companies. We did not receive any personalized training with our team. Whenever we would ask for training, we would be sent a peak article link or a video. It felt like the reps we dealt with didn't know the answer to the questions.
Not at all satisfied it was a nightmare we spent over 8 months with the implementation team having issues after issues all related to the Puerto Rico regulations (half my employees are in Puerto Rico) and at the end we were moved over from the implementation team to the production team without all the issues being resolved
I had gone through an implementation process of another HR platform (Paycom) in my previous job and was traumatized, it was painful. I was surprised how easy and fast it was with Paylocity, the team was very helpful and set us up for success
ADP is too complex, too many people to go through to get what you need, as you need it. I can only say that I don't want to ever have to go back to using ADP again., Wherever my career leads me - I will lead them to PAYCOM!!
We honestly had a program that only kept track of our Demographics, salaries, etc. then all of our Payroll was done on paper with paper leave slips etc. When I saw Paylocity, I was very excited about how easy it is/would be to use. [...] Our Paylocity rep that I spoke to was super GREAT in the explanation of Paylocity and I didn't even shop around much.
We started with approximately 100 employees and have grown to over 500. Paylocity is able to handle an organization's growth in terms of headcount as well as level of benefits offered.
