Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)
We use SolarWinds IP Address Manager to manage our entire corporate network. It's incredibly useful in seeing what is on our network as well as identifying conflicts.
- IP address conflicts--instantly identifies conflicts on the network
- Managing our various scopes
- Setting up reservations for various devices
- One portal to view all the devices along with easy to read descriptions of what the devices are
- I can't really complain about the current implementation. It just works brilliantly.
- We spend less time trying to resolve conflicts.
- We spend less time doing daily admin tasks.
We haven't evaluated any other software like SolarWinds IP Address Manager.

In the past we made use of a number of free monitoring tools, whether they were just basic scripts all the way to commercial paid products such as Nagios, PRTG Network Monitor, to ManageEngine OpManager.
Whilst all these tools have their strengths, the issue boiled down to having multiple monitoring systems all with their own portals and only monitoring a specific part of our infrastructure.

- Product Features
- Product Usability
- Prior Experience with the Product
The single most important factor in our decision to implement Solarwinds IP Address Manager was the fact it integrated into our existing Solarwinds platform. This allows us to have all our monitoring in one single location, all integrated with each other. Whilst price was a contributing factor, it was not our main reason for choosing IPAM.
