Overall Satisfaction with Zapier
Zapier is the Swiss Knife every tech company should have. We use it particularly in the marketing department where we implement a lot of growth experiments and marketing automations. Before using Zapier we needed to wait until the developers team had time to implement our proposals, but nowadays we just run MVPs with Zapier for basic backend functions. If the growth or automation MVP is successful we can do 2 things: 1st it can keep running with Zapier, 2nd we ask the developers team to implement the feature that we already know is a successful feature. We use it from simple tasks like activating welcome emails, to almost building a mini CRM for certain apartments just with Zapier.
- Zapier can integrate perfectly with almost every single app or service out there
- Even if an integration is not developed you can always use the global integrations to connect with webhooks, emails, parsing, and build from zero your own custom integrations (you need more tech knowledge)
- Zapier can run as fast as real-time, and with one of the paid options it gives you more than 75,000 tasks which is really good. They also have the free version which runs I think every 15 minutes and it has 100 tasks which is not bad for testing purposes. Actually, a few companies nowadays offer this kind of free tier.
- The builder nowadays is really easy and friendly to use, they have implemented advanced features as paths and decision points and they continuously improve the platform.
- Sometimes 75,000 tasks are not enough (believe it or not), and after that point, you start to pay per task it would be nice if they would offer more tasks under the same plan price.
- It's supposed to work in collaboration with your team, but I feel there is plenty of opportunities here.
- They have user communities for advanced and new users, but I think it could be done better
- Really positive now we can run experiments wihout the need of the developer team so we are a faster team who can show faster results and it reflects in more users and more sales for the company
- Since we could built a feature from Mention that we needed and a single CRM we are saving month to month the cost of notion and the CRM and is exactly what we needed
- You can also automate several task for social media, customer service, etc. Which means your employees can use their time in productive activities and not just in repetitive activities (if something is repetitive just pay zapier)
In case of IFTTT at the very begining you could use any of them to solve the same problem but with the time IFTTT became more hardware automation and Zapier more software services automation so eventually I end up moving 100% to Zapier and I still think IFTTT has its own use cases but at this moment Zapier is what we need.
In case of Google I wanted to point out Google Apps Script is a very popular console for task automation and sometimes it can be used in combination with zapier and that's fine they work good but for most of the times since Google apps script 100% of the time you need coding skills is definetely a complex solution to use, while Zapier is well suited. But in some other scenarios where all the services are from google well using Google App Script makes more sense.
