We selected BlueJeans because of COVID-19 we needed a tool to broadcast large events. I work in high education industry and we needed to broadcast graduation ceremony. It was easy and convienent to assign the roles, presenters and moderators, previously to the event by sending and email invite. This is more secure and you don´t have to worry to assign permission during the event, or let presentes to wait on the waiting room.

Webex, gotomeeting and Zoom are all about the same - we use BlueJeans over them because of the conference room integration - we have Crestron panels that connect to BlueJeans with single push of a button....this has changed over time however and Teams easily integrates now and BYOM has become quite popular.

BlueJeans worked just as well as the other platforms. Again, I don't utilize the programs for all of the capabilities that it has. We selected BlueJeans because my organization has a contract with Verizon. I do think that the name isn't ideal. Everyone has heard of Google Meets, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom. Their brand recognition is in the name, where some people looked at me sideways when I asked them to join my BlueJeans meeting. Then I had to educate them and let them know it is through Verizon.

It's best to use features like a whiteboard and break-out rooms. That makes it great for meetings where collaboration and distribution are needed. Others have these features but are not as comfortable as BlueJeans.

We do use Zoom Events in some instances, such as smaller to medium scale events where on-camera student-to-presenter interaction is the bulk of the event, such as focus groups and communications training. The Zoom Events/meetings interface is just a bit cleaner and easier to navigate in that situation where you may have several people unmuting and unmixing to speak at the same time as part of a group discussion.

I use BlueJeans at school because that is what my college uses. Every student automatically has access and it is integrated with Canvas. Google Meet is worse for screen sharing and breakout rooms. Zoom and BlueJeans are fairly comparable with most features.

Blue Jeans events are typically on par or exceed the competition. Teams and Zoom edge it out slightly in terms of call and audio quality, and Webex is about the same. However, Events beats Teams and Zoom in terms of ability to handle large-scale audience participation and even edges out Webex events in terms of ease of use. Blue Jeans events are also the easiest to use in terms of scheduling.

BlueJeans Events is an all-in-one platform that works well when used as a moderator and as part of the audience. The feature that was useful was the practice session it allowed us to do for our tech check. Made the day of our event less stressful.

BlueJeans Events has been less “buggy” than the others. Professors sometimes struggle learning new technologies, but BlueJeans [Events] has caused the fewest problems. It’s also easy to start meetings with the simple link-sharing feature. This link can be posted to our class board and easily accessed at any point. Also, the recordings are easy to access and share, which is vital to professors.
