Disco is used primarily by certain teams, or within certain cases where there is known to be a high volume of documents that will be collected or used. It provides for easier access and organization for these files. It also assists in production, quick research, and general storage for certain cases where the volume of documents would be a burden on our system.
  • Organizes documents
  • Assists in production of documents
  • Makes searching within database easier
  • Ordering documents into a specific manner
  • Quick review from document to document
  • Organizing one matter into separate sub-files
Disco is ideal for lawsuits with a large number of documents that need to be stored and searched. It assists in reviewing and producing these documents, and generally categorizing documents that are significant or not. It does not help as much for matters where there is relatively few documents or in trying to review all documents from a large grouping.
  • Made storage easier
  • Saved time in management of files
The tags are very useful for organizing and categorizing documents. So is the overall view of an entire case matter. Also, searching within DISCO has been helpful.
The biggest help DISCO has had in terms of total cost is storage and review for large matters. It has been important for storing extremely large files in one convenient place. It has also helped in being able to quickly assess what is in said files and what needs to be reviewed or already has been.
It has made viewing large matters much quicker and sped up our review and production of documents in these cases. It has assisted with being able to quickly do privilege review and redaction of key documents based on searching and reviewing within DISCO. It has also helped our storage burdens.
I have had experience requesting professional assistance for both uploading documents and production. For uploading, it took some additional time, but it was a much easier experience than uploading myself. For document production, the experts were very helpful and immediately produced all the documents in the exact manner that I had requested.
That was a decision made by our organization.

Typically litigation or other legal roles including large discovery projects for significant projects or related to significant incidents. Both attorneys and paralegals utilize the software as a means of organizing files and allowing for quick production or other responses from requests made by other parties. There is also some internal review of these documents.

These are generally technical individuals or those who have exposure to organization and large document software. Many of these are paralegals or other legal support roles. Most of them have exposure to similar programs, or just a general familiarity with large document collections. They assist with these functions in a variety of ways.
  • Document organization
  • Storage of large files
  • Quick review in complicated matters
  • Organizing for production
  • Quick search through voluminous documents
  • Direct production of documents
There were some customer service issues in closing a project, but generally the service has been helpful to our needs.
