InVision Freehand has proven to be a valuable tool for various use cases, as reported by users, reviewers, and customers. Its low learning curve and real-time collaboration capabilities make it ideal for running UX workshops and collaborating with different teams. The software serves as a hub for UI/UX designers, developers, project and product managers, and key stakeholders to access visual design assets and details. It bridges the collaboration gap for remote teams, providing a space to add to the pool of meaning and align stakeholders. Additionally, InVision Freehand is frequently used in the early brainstorming and prototype phases to quickly collaborate and share ideas with the team. It facilitates clear communication of requirements between clients and the development team, reducing the scope for misunderstanding. Moreover, it serves as a centralized place for collecting and archiving documents and assets, collecting product requirements, and delivering annotated design specs. With its virtual whiteboard feature, InVision Freehand is valuable for remote brainstorming sessions and documenting business problems. Users appreciate the wireframe elements provided by InVision Freehand for customizing and building products efficiently. The software has been praised for its regular updates and enhanced functionality that brings value to designers' work. Overall, InVision Freehand is widely used across disciplines for collaboration, ideation activities, wireframing, project planning, design critiques, and much more.
Users commonly recommend using InVision Freehand for collaborative creative projects and suggest utilizing it alongside other InVision products for a smoother experience. InVision Freehand is praised for facilitating brainstorming, real-time idea sharing, desktop and mobile responsive design, team collaboration, conversations and critiques of work, and post wireframes and screen mockups. Users also highlight its usefulness in sharing work between teams, creating specs with easy-to-attach comments, promoting teamwork, enhancing contact with consumers, collecting feedback and suggestions, improving the workflow of design teams, and working with collaborators.
Additionally, InVision is highly regarded as a great tool for collaboration and communication with customers. It is useful for UI/UX developers to test designs and maintain a consistent aesthetic for their brand. Users also find it valuable for project management and collaboration with stakeholders. InVision is recommended for designers working on website redesign projects, collaborating with external creative agencies, and individuals in the web and mobile design fields. Users advise exploring the trial period to assess if InVision aligns well with the team's needs and encourage team members to provide design feedback directly in the tool.
Craft by InVision is suggested as a companion tool for faster prototyping and importing graphic assets. However, users caution that understanding the pricing structure and permissions for different features is important when using InVision. They also remind others to archive screenshots locally, as projects need to be deleted to start new ones.
Invision Freehand is recommended for various purposes from design workflow to high fidelity prototypes, allowing collaboration between members and improving team designs.

Reviews
(1-25 of 102)Great feature set that can be used with multiple teams
- Positive Impact as we use Invision Daily to review designs with our developers and PM/POs
- Helped achieve collaboration goals for wireframes
- Basic functionality of toolbar
- Like the fact that others without InVision Freehand accounts can still see links to wireframes
InVision Freehand Review for Design Managers
- Positive impact is the easy link that allows me to view the designs in seconds without taking up storage on my mac.
- It is easy to provide feedback and makes more visual space in my project management doc.
Good tool for team collaborations!
- It makes it easier to collaborate
- A person who was absent during the call can also revisit to get idea quickly
Research needs more colors for sticky notes.
- It enables us to collaborate, that is invaluable.
Scratching many itches—some areas better than others
- Figma is the internal design tool of choice, and the limited integration with Figma makes it rather difficult to justify the usage of InVision. Many of the design process features—e.g. prototyping, comment threading, freehand whiteboarding, etc—are already baked in in Figma, while certain InVision-specific features can also be accessed via another tooling (e.g Google Drive, Google Doc, etc).
InVision Freehand is the Best Way to Collaborate
- Using InVision Freehand has enabled us to promote our ability for workshopping client meetings and even use it for new business opportunities.
- By using InVision Freehand we can quickly and easily create wireframes and project workflows.
- We couldn't really be working as quickly these days without being able to use InVision Freehand every day in one way or another.
- The positive impact we've felt across agency disciplines has been just what we'd hoped it would be. Everyone is easily able to join in a working session and participate freely and easily.
- Adding Freehand has been one of those head shaking moments where we thought "why haven't we done this sooner!" and happy that now we have it.
My Favorite White Board Tool in a Fully Remote Environment!
- It allows us to ensure everyone is participating in user sessions and feels heard when we put on screen what they are saying versus telling them we are writing it down.
- It definitely helps speed up the process so we can use our time elsewhere.
- We've been able to identify and challenge use cases better with everyone's collaboration.
- Understandably, as with anything, my company sees it as another thing to pay for, so they question it a lot. Still, since I use it so much, I tell them we need it because it truly is helpful, especially when working remotely.
Great tool for designers!
- Increased collaboration between Product Owners & Designers.
- Increased participation during design reviews: The collaborative whiteboard allows people to annotate designs w/ their own feedback.
Rapidly iterate and collaborate remotely
- Allowed us to quickly iterate through ideas to come up with a best-case MVP, gather customer feedback, and achieve organizational buy-in faster than ever before.
Plenty of room to grow
- It has certainly given us a space to lead collaboration sessions we'd usually have to hire a consultant for.
- Me being able to create multiple templates has saved my organization a ton of time when leading similar activities
- We've been able to lead competitive review sessions we'd usually hire a third party firm for
Freehand makes a PMs life easier!
- Speeds up the feedback cycle.
- Allows PMs to tackle more projects.
- Allows PMs to design without the help of designers (if bandwidth constrained)
InVision Freehand does it all
- Time saver for remote users
- Work at own pace with ability to collaborate
- Share ideas and concepts with team mates and get fast feedback
InVision Freehand Review
- Allows the company to brainstorm in a new and engaging way.
- Allows company to bounce ideas of one another in real-time.
- Encourages collaboration and free flowing of ideas.
InVision Freehand makes collaborating with UX a lot easier for us!
- Makes going back and forth faster, saving time and money
- Makes relationship with UX stronger, resulting in better designs
- Makes it quick to collaborate with engineering, which makes them more effective
InVision Freehand is a great tool for collaboration
- It is nice not to have to go buy a separate piece of collaboration software when we already have InVision Freehand. So in that way, it saves us money since it allows us to use what we already have.
Connectivity, Collaboration and New Design Paradigms
- InVision Freehand has reduced the time of feedback cycles with outside teams dramatically by allowing marketing, sales and non-product people to easily leave comments, copy and other relevant feedback into our designs EARLY in the process.
- Having an online tool where our global design team can collaborate in real-time and have a very similar experience to being in the same room during a brainstorm session is incredible for morale, productivity and team dynamics. We are able to get things done and enjoy the process.
Hope this will be helpful.
Like a magic whiteboard that nobody can accidentally erase
- Allowed us to keep working collaboratively after the pandemic hit
- Allows us to save ideas in a safer location than a whiteboard that might get erased
A good option for large teams
- Productivity
- Accessibility
Helps remote work tremendously
- Enhances remote work
- Saves time
- Great collaboration tool
Freehand versus Miro
- Positive - We use it for collaboration when we can't physically be in a room "white boarding"
- Positive - It has allowed us more creative ways to share complex concepts with other stakeholders across the business
- Positive - Ease of getting more non-verbal people to participate in meetings by contribution
- Negative - Waste time during meetings trying to "get the damn thing to work"
- Negative - Hard to use for those stakeholders who are not in the tool every day (perception)
It's the virtual whiteboard that works better than the real life in-person whiteboard!
- It's definitely had a positive ROI, especially in a remote-first workplace
- It's decreased discussion times by enabling something visual to help get everyone aligned
- It's a fast Sketch platform and has decreased cycle times, especially early in the iterative process/research phase.
I have been a Freehand user for a while
- Productivity
- Collaboration
- Cloud based
Welcome to the collaboration party!
- Freehand has had a positive impact on WHO can collaborate on our designs. It's not just for designers. Anyone can pop in and contribute.
- Freehand is a great value when included within everything else InVision has to offer. Really helps to bridge the gap between the "pretty picture" (prototypes) and the "deep thinking" behind why everything is how it is.
- The only negative is that not everyone is on InVision. People use all sorts of collaboration platforms, and InVision is a bit of a barrier to entry when working with lots of people at lots of different organizations.
