Miro has been widely employed for various purposes, including brainstorming and facilitating team discussions. Its use extends to enhancing presentations with visual cues instead of traditional slides. The platform aids in efficient sprint planning and project management while aligning teams effectively. Users have harnessed its GenAI features for creating diagrams, compiling meeting notes, and conducting design tasks such as mapping user flows and journeys. Miro also serves as a crucial tool for customer research activities, from initial planning and note-taking to the final synthesis. Moreover, it caters to virtual collaboration needs by supporting design reviews, workshops with external customers, and fostering knowledge sharing within design teams.

Template Variety: Users have expressed appreciation for Miro's diverse range of template layouts tailored to different project needs, enhancing creativity and organization. The platform's extensive template options cater to various preferences and requirements, offering a wide selection to suit diverse project scopes and styles.

Real-time Collaboration: Reviewers have highlighted the platform's real-time engagement and updates as beneficial for fostering teamwork across different time zones, facilitating efficient collaboration and communication among team members. This feature ensures that all stakeholders stay updated with the latest developments promptly.

Effective Tools: Many users find the AI delete background tools effective for sketch uploads, significantly improving the overall user experience by simplifying tasks like image editing. The tool streamlines workflows and enhances productivity when working on visual content within the platform.

Performance Issues: Reviewers have frequently reported significant performance problems with large boards taking a long time to load, negatively impacting the user experience. This issue hampers productivity and frustrates users trying to work efficiently.

Limited Drawing Capabilities: Users find the drawing capabilities, especially for shapes, to be restrictive and have requested more variety in shapes and the ability to save brand colors. The current limitations hinder creativity and design flexibility on the platform.

Difficulty in Board Organization: Some users express confusion when organizing boards by department, struggling with determining the correct placement for new boards. This lack of clarity disrupts workflow efficiency and makes it challenging to maintain an organized workspace.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

It happened organically at Klue. We were a remote-first company even before COVID, so tried a lot of tools and training.

People just kept showing up with Miro boards. With the whiteboard mental map and the earlier UI's ... it just worked as people expected. Easy to jump in and participate. Miro just ended up outlasting a lot of other choices vs. being pedantically implementated.

A Great Whiteboard Tool!

It is easy to create boards and invite guests to each board. The invitation can be easily confused with team members which is additional cost. I did make that mistake once (by inviting someone to be a team member instead of a guest) but it was easy to rectify the situation before additional charges were incurred.

Getting Miro up and running for our business was straight-forward. However, how users and permissions are managed remains confusing and it took some time to understand it. The concept of different teams and projects within an organisation can take some getting used to.

I do have issues with my private account conflicting occassionally with my corporate account for some reason. Sometimes I find myself on other boards or other areas, so I guess I use it too often in too many overlapping use cases? But besides that, the implementation was great and successful.

Great stuff

We started on a lower-tier plan and then upgraded to an enterprise plan based on user acceptance. I would recommend not launching the product to widely till you get an idea of acceptance. Keep in mind, the business owner or 'champion' of the product will have to evangelize it to their org in some way.

The configuration of the Miro workspaces was very quick within the company. When onboarding other organizations there were some access restrictions that reduced the collaboration progress, but they could be overcome. Adding new internal employees is seamless and does not leave a lot of room for improvement. The integration with Slack also worked very quickly.

Miro has transformed my effectiveness.

I wasn't part of an official implementation of Miro, but I was the first teacher in my district to start using Miro (back when it was called Realtime Board); bringing it into our school and teaching teachers how it can be used has been relatively painless. I think it was easier for me as Miro was growing and improving while I was sharing Miro with others. Now, there are a lot of features and uses to cover that I've been able to learn and master in smaller pieces over time.

I have used Miro from the start of my business and was able to directly implement and develop my workshop and coaching overviews and templates in the tool. The only thing that I have not yet fully settled is the sorting/structuring of the various boards in my space (right now, it's just a long list that I scroll through to find the respective board).

In the beginning, I used Mural for about two years. I started using Miro out of curiosity and later as a viable alternative, but I fell in love with it—its power and interoperability with other tools.
The look and feel of the boards are more appealing than with other electronic blackboards. The widgets, the templates, the apps (internal and third party), and the Miroverse make Miro a strong player in the universe of "similar" tools.

I stumbled upon Miro on my own, and I was the person responsible for onboarding my team and implementing Miro as part of our regular work. I would say implementation and uptake have been lackluster at best - which could be my fault. However, I do wish that there were more intuitive videos, tips, tricks, or pop-ups that you could interact with to learn more as you go. I feel like we are underutilizing the features due to a lack of knowledge.
