Miro has been widely employed for various purposes, including brainstorming and facilitating team discussions. Its use extends to enhancing presentations with visual cues instead of traditional slides. The platform aids in efficient sprint planning and project management while aligning teams effectively. Users have harnessed its GenAI features for creating diagrams, compiling meeting notes, and conducting design tasks such as mapping user flows and journeys. Miro also serves as a crucial tool for customer research activities, from initial planning and note-taking to the final synthesis. Moreover, it caters to virtual collaboration needs by supporting design reviews, workshops with external customers, and fostering knowledge sharing within design teams.

Template Variety: Users have expressed appreciation for Miro's diverse range of template layouts tailored to different project needs, enhancing creativity and organization. The platform's extensive template options cater to various preferences and requirements, offering a wide selection to suit diverse project scopes and styles.

Real-time Collaboration: Reviewers have highlighted the platform's real-time engagement and updates as beneficial for fostering teamwork across different time zones, facilitating efficient collaboration and communication among team members. This feature ensures that all stakeholders stay updated with the latest developments promptly.

Effective Tools: Many users find the AI delete background tools effective for sketch uploads, significantly improving the overall user experience by simplifying tasks like image editing. The tool streamlines workflows and enhances productivity when working on visual content within the platform.

Performance Issues: Reviewers have frequently reported significant performance problems with large boards taking a long time to load, negatively impacting the user experience. This issue hampers productivity and frustrates users trying to work efficiently. Limited Drawing Capabilities: Users find the drawing capabilities, especially for shapes, to be restrictive and have requested more variety in shapes and the ability to save brand colors. The current limitations hinder creativity and design flexibility on the platform. Difficulty in Board Organization: Some users express confusion when organizing boards by department, struggling with determining the correct placement for new boards. This lack of clarity disrupts workflow efficiency and makes it challenging to maintain an organized workspace.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

The evaluation and selection process was not necessarily a tough one for us. Our entire company was moving to Miro board and so we followed suit in doing so.

I would potentially explore other options and talk to the team to see what they might deem as the easiest to use and best for our team and office.

Now I would look at competitors AI capabilities and how flexible or how many functionalities the programs have. I think the programs that can be used for more then just one specific use case are more desirable. Also the ease of use and learning curve required as well as the ability for multiple people to work together in the program.

The evaluation and selection process was not the typical vendor selection because we already had several groups using the tool. We haven't had any issues with it after selecting it and implementing across the organization. However, if someone asks "why" Miro was selected, we would not have any specific evidence to show the reasons. A change would be to use the vendor selection template and put in writing all the features and scores to show it was the better option.

I wasn't that involved in the evaluation and selection process since I'm only a key user, however, I would like to think that we could demo and deploy Miro in our organization before making a more full, long-term commitment. I would have also taken this strategy with other virtual collaboration tools so that we could gather feedback from the organization on a variety of tools.

Perform a cost-benefit analysis to understand the overall value that MIRO brings to your organization. Consider not only the initial investment but also ongoing costs, such as subscription fees and potential customization requirements.

In hindsight, I would enhance the evaluation process by conducting more extensive user trials and seeking direct feedback from various teams within the organization. Additionally, a thorough assessment of specific integration capabilities with existing tools would have been beneficial. Understanding the scalability and long-term support of the platform would also be a critical aspect to consider. Furthermore, involving end-users early in the decision-making process to gauge their specific needs and preferences would provide a more holistic perspective. Continuous communication with Miro's support and development teams for insight into upcoming features and improvements could further inform the decision-making process. Overall, a more collaborative and iterative evaluation approach would ensure a better alignment of the chosen platform with the diverse needs of our organization.

The business users had already started using the free version of Miro, which isn't ideal, we would have preferred to have a selection process and understood requirements before them self picking a tool.

We did a full fledged evaluation and it was the voices of a few that tipped the scales. I don't think we understood the cult like adoption or impact of considering removing Miro at the beginning of our evaluation. Cost or feature parity mattered little to that audience. Since then, our runner up has merged licenses (Lucidchart and Lucidspark) so there is now overlapping capabilities and increased cost driving a re-evaluation. I don't know that we can pre-vet the adoption impact, but it's front of mind.

I was not involved in the overall evaluation and selection process. I only made the choice to install Miro as an OKTA app on my work PC after seeing it's benefits.
