When working with remote teams, or with flexible locations, eg. hybrid, work from home, etc, having a shared whiteboard and kanban that is always accessible to everyone on the team is invaluable.
  • Kanban project management
  • Planning and scheduling
  • Shared board for Zoom brainstorming workshops
  • Sticky notes only have two available fonts--please enable more fonts
  • Interface can still be fiddly when trying to select particular items within a frame, instead of selecting the frame.
  • Being able to easily cut and paste boards from one project to another would be very handy
Miro is well suited to being a whiteboard for online workshops or online classes. It is also extremely well suited to being a Kanban management tool for teams that work in many locations. It is also quite decent as a calendar, surprisingly
  • reduces the mental load of conveying tasks to be done to a team, and following up
  • allows seeing priorities clearly, and moving them around, thus increasing productivity
Please include more fonts for sticky notes. Please have an option for font size in sticky notes to be fixed i.e. it does not autosize. Please make it easier to copy and paste boards to other projects. Please work with some users and see the specific minor difficulties they have when trying to select multiple items, particularly when they're inside frames. More general note: some users such as me, use Sticky notes a lot: it would be great to be able to Bold, Italicise, and do a lot inside a sticky note
This is not a functionality I have tried to use much, and not something I think about very much.
Miro feels much more flexible than other whiteboard-like products or collaboration tools. Being able to plot things out on a seemingly infinite sized canvas, without being overly constrained in formats, and being able to zoom in and zoom out to specific areas is very useful in being able to conceptualise a whole project, and where specific aspects of the project fit in.
Miro feels so much more expansive than Jamboard, which only seemed to allow a small, fixed area. Miro's features and templates seemed to be on a completely different level. Trello is a rather different product: well suited to a very set format, but it's not nearly as good for flexible and completely freeform brainstorming.
Zoom, mmhmm, Slack
  • Brainstorming
  • Project Management
  • Planning
  • Used for presentations: ability to Zoom out to big picture, then individual slides
  • for managing group projects
It is the best collaborative "whiteboard" application that I have used. Allows quite freeform expression and very visual. Great for brainstorming collaboratively, and also later for tracking things to be done. Also, with working in different offices vs home etc — it's great to have a "whiteboard" that is easily accessible from any space.
No
  • Ease of Use
It's very intuitive to use and gives the flexibility to use it in so many different ways.

I often just like being able to lay out post-it notes and move them around with colleagues, but it's also great to be able to embed images and pdfs etc.

Most of us don't have the time to do a training for another software. Nearly every co-worker seems to be able to use Miro basically out of the box.
I don't know that I'd do anything differently.
  • Implemented in-house
No
Change management was minimal
Lesson for me personally is that if a tool can provide value immediately without requiring time investment for training etc, then people are much more likely to adopt and use it regularly.
  • minor: coworkers being invited to a different email address to the one they were logged in on. This was very minor and easily fixed.
500
Management. Research and writing teams. Educators.
I am not aware of in-house staff for the support of Miro, nor would I think it necessary. The appeal is that Miro is very intuitive.
  • No Training
For busy people, I would not recommend any form of compulsory training for Miro. The appeal of Miro is that, for my teams, it immediate saved us time, and is very intuitive to use.
Miro has everything that I want. Except perhaps ability to change fonts on post-it notes.
No recommendations other than to explore the templates and community templates. Also google to see if someone is already sharing something they've set up for your use case.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code
I did not customise Miro, other than to use templates that other people have shared online and in the community.
I have never required support, so I am unable to comment. Please also disregard all other answers on this. I have never contacted support.
We have not purchased premium support. Budgets at the moment are limited.
No
I have never contacted support, nor needed to.
I find Miro exceptionally easy to use. The fact that coworkers use it without any explanation or training speaks to this.
The only thing I sometimes find tricky is that when I try to select a group of say post it notes using by selecting a large area, it sometimes pulls background frames etc. I believe this is just because I have not looked into the proper way to handle this in Miro.
  • Making a freeform Kanban
  • not particularly difficult, but sometimes fiddly to move many post it notes without disturbing the structure of headings or outlines below.
For my own personal use cases, I've never had any issues with using it to collaborate with as many people as I needed.
I do not remember any outages that have affected me.
Works remarkably well. I'm able to draw on a whiteboard and course participants can see and interact essentially in real time with very little lag.
  • never tried any integration
  • no
I have not used any of those
If the functionality to have GPT summarise changes in a report does not already exist, using GPT-4-vision, then that would be very helpful
Everything was very smooth.
No issues at all. It's been very easy.
Academic usage did not need to be negotiated, there is already an academic usage policy.
No, all of the interactions were very good.
No
  • I am not aware of any upgrade

Yes
My team changed because there is a limit on the number of boards we can have on the free plan.

The change went very well: we already knew we liked using Miro, and the change gave us the ability to create more boards.

Miro is the virtual collaboration tool of choice for my organization. In various aspects of the business, from sales to finance to operations, we use Miro to visualize processes so we can better understand various aspects of it from different points of view. The ease of use of the platform and different features of it enable people from many backgrounds to participate and contribute so others can understand their work. For example, we've mapped out the process by which we collect and analyze data for processing of rebates, as well as approvals in order to build a standard operating procedure for it and improve upon it for future use. We've also used the tool to outline the process by which we demo equipment to customers and return it, or even how we assign cases in Salesforce to different teams for resolution. Some of the use cases are regional, while others are global issues that help us to solve problems which in the long run, save hundreds of thousands of dollars for the business.
  • Enables visualization of processes
  • Stores information and organizes it in a tidy manner (files, etc.)
  • Great for brainstorming and ranking ideas (impact matrix)
  • Enables live collaboration on projects and tasks with others
  • Embedded files
  • Consistency of text formats (labeling frames vs. text boxes vs. sticky notes)
  • Seeing with whom a board is shared
  • Incorporation of AI or VR/AR
Visualizing a process with a team that works remotely! It's absolutely fantastic for this and enables people to see the process from different perspectives so we can improve. For storing files and creating an "information repository" however, it's not so great. I usually just link to a SharePoint to get that done.
  • Reduce the number of misassigned cases per month from ~5,000 to ~1,000
  • Reduce number of defects during demo processes from ~90% to ~30%
  • Create a standard process for evaluating and approving resources for dedication to custom projects for customers
  • Enablement of Daily Management for my virtual team
It was a task to implement Miro in my organization, however with the help of the Miro staff, the process was much easier. We had support when we needed it, and ongoing collaboration enabled us to spread the tools use to all parts of our organization, and give our organization the resources necessary to thrive using the tool
Similar to my last response, integrating it has been easy thanks largely to the Miro staff who've assisted us. Without them, I don't think we would have been able to integrate it into as many products. There is still some work to be done with for example other complicated platforms like SalesForce or our ERP, but we're off to a fantastic start.
It's been fantastic in this regard. Especially for me, having come from a manufacturing operations background where I was always onsite to work with others, I've been amazed with how easily I've gone to remote work, due in part to the use of Miro. I feel like I'm right there with my team as we collaborate on projects, even though we're located thousands of miles apart. With different time zones, we can contribute on our own time and hold each other accountable for completion of tasks. It even helps with Comradery because we can insert funny memes or links in there :)
Miro is by far the best for visualization of processes. Nothing is quite like it, however for storing information and important files, I've tried to do this but it just doesn't work out as well as having clearly labeled and/or colored folders in SharePoint for example. Some folks prefer PowerPoint for mapping something out, and I've tried it before, but the functionality just isn't as intuitive as Miro, and it's much more difficult to modify anything there.
  • Process Mapping
  • Sharing ideas and information (files)
  • Collaborating over a long time on a long term project
  • Transactional Process Improvement Events
  • Speed of Trust Trainings
  • Daily Management
  • Storing files and organizing materials
  • Editing documents and sheets like in Quip
There is no other tool like Miro for process Mapping in particular. I've tried PowerPoint, Word, and other programs, but when collaborating virtually on how to improve a process, Miro has all of the tools and more to enable successful mapping. The colors, different types of shapes and text books, along with the ability to integrate different documents and other functionality, make it ideal for this purpose. In a virtual world, it's a must-have.
No
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
Ease of Use: Everyone in our organization can use this tool, and the extra training sessions provided by Miro on functionality and different features help tremendously as well. There was even an ongoing webinar series with Miro Experts where they would introduce new features, and all were well received by our organization. This also enables everyone's voice to be heard and all valuable input to be considered when making a decision.
I wasn't that involved in the evaluation and selection process since I'm only a key user, however, I would like to think that we could demo and deploy Miro in our organization before making a more full, long-term commitment. I would have also taken this strategy with other virtual collaboration tools so that we could gather feedback from the organization on a variety of tools.
  • Don't know
Change management was minimal
On a high level, change management may have been a big issue, however for my team and smaller part of the organization, change management was minimal. We never really used a tool quite like Miro, so it was more of an enhancement than anything. We were already well-versed in remote ways of working and some other similar, but not competitive tools. Implementing Miro made things easier and allows us to collaborate more efficiently.
  • Finding out where to stop using Miro and start using another tool
Almost every function uses Miro in my organization. To make a list: Research and Development, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Operations, Manufacturing, Legal, Human Resources, Finance, Scientific and Laboratory Services, Field Service/Applications. If I missed any common business function, I'm sure they use it too! There really isn't a function where it wouldn't be useful.
I am unsure of how many people we have in-house to support Miro ongoing. I do know that Miro is great with support and if I have issues, they are a simple communication away with their knowledgeable support staff. To support Miro, it helps to be familiar with virtual collaboration tools, and just have general computer skills. You also need to be responsive and know how to ask questions to understand a users' process and solve their biggest issues.
  • Online Training
There was a series of webinars which Miro hosted with our organization that went over the basics, then progressively became more advanced with additional sections. The instructors were knowledgeable, and provided examples throughout the sessions, as well as answered peoples' questions. There was ample time and experience on the calls to cover a range of topics. The instructors were also very friendly and sociable, as well as honest. Of course Miro isn't a "God-tool" that does absolutely everything, but the instructors were aware and emphasized the strengths where Miro had them and sincerely accepted feedback.
It's just right, there's enough leeway to be able to do what you need to do and configure the program to your needs.
For me, I love the use of templates to configure your Miro Experience. Start with a blank workbook and work from there to set things up the way you need them, and input different frames and other integrated files, shapes, colors, etc. If you have a different template for different scenarios such as process mapping or training, or something else, it really helps.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code
There was no additional configuration we did for Miro.
The support staff at Miro are fantastic. Whenever I have had an issue, they have been timely and helpful with their response. They are also very knowledgeable and go out of their way to not only help, but offer proactive training sessions on different topics and new functionality so everyone can try it out.
I did not because there was not a need. The issues my organization have not required anything above and beyond from a support perspective.
No
While trying to find a template for a training I was going to hold, I couldn't find anything, however I contacted support and they saved the day by showing me how to find templates for different things, and helped me to narrow my search so that I could find exactly what I was looking for in time to prepare for the training.
Everything is laid out very easily in the site. The sticky notes are obvious, as well as text boxes and other features due to the shapes of the icons, and descriptions when you hover over the boxes or that are stated right there in the title for the feature. I have introduced Miro to newcomers on my team and they pick it up in a matter of hours.
  • Posting Sticky Notes
  • Uploading a Word File to download later
  • Making things visual and colorful
  • Uploading Excel files
  • Integrating Powerpoint
Yes, but I don't use it
Miro is great for scaling. In every department and subdivision across my entire organization, there is someone using it. From Sales to marketing, to manufacturing and operations; and even in legal and finance, there isn't a process or a department that is not using Miro, and if they aren't, they're missing out! Even at the highest to the lowest levels of the organization, it is essential for virtual collaboration.
I only give a 9/10 because of the speed at which it loads. I have never experienced issues with Miro logging me out early, or some other technical issue causing the program to crash, or even it just loading in perpetuity without ever actually coming up (unlike other programs such as SFDC). It take a minute for all of my boards to come up after I click on it in my favorites, but besides that, it's all good.
I took the loading quickly to be related to availability which I commented on before, so ditto with those comment on load time here. Although to reemphasize, Miro doesn't crash or just refuse to load like some other programs. The weak point of Miro for me is integration of files like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint (especially the later two). When you embed these, it gets slow, and complicated to bring them up while you're in the application.
  • Excel
  • Word
  • Powerpoint
I've tried to integrate these into various boards, but have not had great success. Implementing files is difficult because the more you add, the longer it takes for things to load and the board becomes progressively less usable.
  • No
I do not plan to integrate anything else into Miro, it stands on it's own very well.
I have not used any of the tools
N/A
I didn't do too much direct interaction with Miro during the sales process since we already had Miro at the time I started using it, however Miro seemed very willing and able to support users and the organization as a whole as we started to implement Miro in our everyday work lives.
As said before, Miro worked with us to implement the tool in our daily work lives, and provided a webinar series going over everything from the basics to more advanced functionality. Now that it's embedded in our virtual workspace, I couldn't imagine working without Miro, and if I ever have any questions, I'm confident that they can be answered in a timely manner.

We use it for all kinds of stuff, especially for remote working. We have a lot of daily scrum & retrospective formats and use them for OKRs, Team Canvas sessions, creating story maps, product goals, etc. It's an ideal tool for working from home with your colleagues and using the digital whiteboards Miro offers.
  • It's a great solution for working hybrid.
  • It offers lots of easy templates to use.
  • It's easy to use Agile workflows in Miro.
  • Simply create story maps en roadmaps.
  • It can become a bit slow when working with a lot of users at the same time.
  • Sharing projects can be a bit difficult sometimes for new users.
  • The more people using the board, the more licences you'll need.
During Covid, it was absolutely great to use Miro for working hybrid. Even though we mostly returned to the office, we still use Miro on a daily basis. It's just very easy to use this instead of a physical board. Even during physical events, we often use Miro at the moment as our whiteboard. Sometimes it's difficult to learn for new users. There's so much to do in Miro.
  • Improved productivity.
  • Created transparency.
  • It isn't the most cheap product to use.
The implementation went pretty smooth although I wasn't really involved with implementing the tool.
It's very to integrate Miro with other tools. Lately, we have been integrating it with Jira, Confluence, and Teams. All of this works pretty smoothly, to be honest. At this moment we can even create Jira tickets in our Miro boards and the other way around. Everyone is quickly getting used to these integrations.
It's a great tool and helped us a lot with collaborating on existing and new projects. We have some people working from the other side of the country or even abroad so working with Miro online works amazing for us. It creates a lot of transparency the way it's set up.
I wasn't involve with the selection process but I prefer Miro over MURAL because of the look & feel.
  • In addition for working remote
  • Doing retrospectives
  • Use it for SCRUM boards
  • Facilitate meetings
  • Connecting it with JIRA and sync our boards 2 ways
  • Using it for themed meetings with a lot of fun
  • use Miro to gather public feedback and engage citizens in urban planning projects.
  • isualize and analyze data related to city demographics, infrastructure, and public services
I use it almost daily, so we'd really like to keep using it. We have a lot of users using it on a daily basis. For me, it is the best online whiteboarding tool with the best functionalities available on the market. Even though people start coming back to the office, we keep using the tool very often.

It's very easy to use and easy to integrate with other systems. It's not needed to get an extended training to start using the tool, beginners can easily use it as well. It's also very handy that we can integrate it with tools like JIRA and Confluence to sync work.

Miro is used mainly for collaboration, planning solutions, analysis, and team contributions mainly since teams are remote. I use various diagrams and templates to achieve an outcome for a session. it could be product roadmap, product planning, or solution discussion.
  • Great Collabration Templates
  • Lots of Graphics and icons and stationery to use
  • Allows various users to contribute to the board
  • the navigation around the board is very clunky
  • resizing and moving around
  • zoom in and out is tricky
  • picking and grouping objects without disturbing others

Superb. very well explained videos. Really helps get the knowledge up on the product. The slides are divided into the topics of usage. I have enjoyed following and implementing all of these slides. The videos are well explained and it is easy to follow. There are tutorials that you can take yourself later. It would be nice however if more training modules were added.
Yes it was very easy to learn. I first started using this product without any training. it is very intuitive and you can do a lot with this product.
I took the online training much later and it really helped with more knowledge on this product. I will be continuing with the tutorials to help use this tool to the max.
