I think Monster.com fills a different niche. SeekOut/LinkedIn are more about finding candidates from the overall pool of millions of profiles and resumes. Monster.com shows you immediately who is looking, who is applying, etc. Monster.com also has the salary tools, which I think is very unique. The other sites do not have that and aren't as transparent about the market. Which I think is very valuable during competitive hiring times like these.

I started using Monster.com in my initial days of recruiting and the UI of Monster.com is much interactive and user friendly. While using CareerBuilder.com I faced many issues while sorting profiles location-wise and keyword-wise so there is no comparison between Monster.com and other portals, but as I mentioned previously getting the same profiles sometimes makes things annoying to be honest.

Attracts candidates. Matches candidates to positions. Weeds out unqualified candidates. Easy to use.Advertising for open positions. Doesn't force you to change your password every other month or so. Very logical layout of the website. The search strings are very accurate. If you put in the right keyword you will definitely get the right candidate. I have used the asterisk (*) keyword, and every time I use it, I get candidates that I am looking for. This keyword will help me to find candidates writing the same base word in the resume. The job posting is another service that Monster excels at. There is a filter question within the job posting option which lets you make sure that only relevant candidates apply to your job posting. This is a very efficient method with which you do not waste your time dealing with not relevant candidates.

I selected Monster.com for the complete package and very useful database. Find monster.com very easy to use, track the activity of the recruiter as well as of the candidate. Checking inventory remaining is very easy to find in Monster.com. The is the best database to get the qualified candidates in short period.

We evaluated two more job boards. One of them was free of charge and it is much harder to manage meaning the layout of software is not easy. The other service that we used, we barely got applicants at all.
What was not helpful for us, is that in Monster.com we didn't find a way to add custom application questions. Not a lot of way to customize the process or change it.

We have used Indeed.com and LinkedIn Jobs as well as Monster.com for posting open positions online. Monster.com was consistent in the quality of applicants that they delivered to us. The other online job boards are okay with the applicants they provide but we have found that Monster is a consistently reliable responder to the positions we need to fill.

The powerful feature that Monster has is its Boolean search, which is incredible. The resumes that pop up are the ones that are not able to be found on any other job boards. The Power Resume Search feature is the pro here. When it comes to Dice, the filters help us find the right set of candidates. But it's no match when it comes to Monster's Boolean Search and it's Power Resume Search.

Indeed - You cannot do active sourcing on this. It is only passive recruiting in which you need to wait for the candidate to get back to you. Also the number of candidates that you can approach is limited.
With Monster you can do active hiring and there is no limit to which you can call and reach out to candidates.

Dice - This portal just does not have the database depth that Monster has in terms of software positions. Most of the candidates do not even have their contact numbers or emails updated.
With Monster the database is richer and the quality of candidates is also very very good. I rarely find candidates who don't have contact details updated on their profile in Monster.
