We unfortunately utilized TSYS Gateway for many years to process our customers credit card payments. Recently we ran an audit and realized how expensive thier fess added up to every month, so we canceled and started running all of our payments through Quick Books online. We canceled TSYS aka epay early December 2023. I just received a statement from them for ZERO transactions processed by them and a notification that they deducted $327.98 from out business account. This what they charge monthly rather you utilize their services or not. I called to let the know that I did called over a month ago to cancel and that they were steeling from my account. Is customer service Representative was extremely rude and uncooperative. fire beware, worst customer service ever and they are professional thieves.
None. This is the worst company I have ever worked with. We will never recommend or even think about doing business with them again.

Credit card processing at a brick and mortar store and online processing for monthly reoccurring billing.
In my experience, ever since Global Payment bought TSYS Payment Gateway, they nickle and dime you every chance they get. Now they are charging a monthly fee of $179 and I get charged twice for both my online account and my store.
My credit card processing used to cost me around 3.5%, now with Global Payments, they take 7%. I think it is outrageous. In my opinion, if you are a small business, stay far away from any company owned by global payments.
In my experience, the other unethical thing they do is when they periodically update your software, they eliminate your ability to take debit payments.
Then you have to call customer service for them to reprogram your machine to allow debit. In my experience, it will take an hour if you are lucky. Pretty soon you give up.
THey make less money on debit transactions. THey don't tell you when you are not PCI compliant then charge you $125.
So if you don't want to give 7% of every hard earned dollar to this billion dollar company, I say stay far away from TSYS Payment Gateway and any other Global Payment subsidiary.
  • In my experience, customer service in generally helpful and easy to reach
  • I think the new website is pretty cool
  • In my opinion, they are very courteous as they rob you blind.
  • Stop taking away my ability to use debit cards
  • 7% is outrageous. I can't continue at this rate
  • In my opinion, the yearly fee is an obvious profit grab. Discontinue it.
In my opinion, no small business should be charged 7% for CC processing fees. I think you should stay away if you are a small business.

  • I have had to ask for cash for a lot of transactions because the fees take up to 30% of my profits. SO for some of my service repairs, I take payments in cash of check only since my profit margin is only 20%

I was contacted by TSYS about using them for credit card services. [I was told that] [there] were no minimum use fees. I told them I already had a processing service and they said they were HIPAA compliant. Since [I thought] there were no minimum transaction [fees], I signed up for their services. I never did use them [beforehand]. I was then billed.
  • None.
  • [Changed] fee schedule.
  • [TSYS Payment Gateway] [said] they would issue [refunds] and then it was denied.
My contract with no fees all of a sudden I noticed over $200 of fees. I contacted the company and was told that they changed their terms and agreements and were now charging fees. I was told that customers who never did use the service were not on the lookout for the sudden change to fees. Several customers had called with this concern and they were issuing refunds. I was told that issuing a refund was no problem and to expect the refund by 4/24/21. Well, I never received the refund and was charged again on the 4/12/21. I contacted TSYS again and was told that the refund had been denied higher up. That because I did not take steps for PCI compliance, I could not get the refund. I was not PCI complaint because I was not using there service. But because of this and the fact, my refund, after having been confirmed to be sent on or before 4/24 was now denied.
  • none
  • [Huge negative impact for my business]. For a service that was [promised] to have no fees, if not utilized, cost me over $200 in fees.
Clover and square were up front with all fees. [I think] TSYS will try to sell you their product saying medical credit card processing has to be HIPAA complaint. [I feel] [this] is [not] true. They will say they don't have a minimum processing fee. [I feel] [this] is also not true.

We use TSYS Payment Gateway to track our credit card purchases at our medical practice. We generate daily reports and cross check these reports with our practice management software to ensure both reports match up. We utilize TSYS through a web interface and solely use it to cross-check and manage credit card and debit card transactions. As a medical practice we deal with a lot of benefits cards. Many patients are unsure as to how much is left on the card and we need to process payments frequently. TSYS allows us to see if and when the card has been declined or used at our practice.
  • Generates detailed reports
  • Allows for multiple users to access at one time
  • Easy to read statements
  • Pricing is not competitive
  • Extra fees and charges frequently
  • Difficult to navigate to the correct spot from the website-- there are 22 products listed for Merchants to use. No shortcuts or quick links
  • Interface is very simple once in transaction central. It does not look as professional as other services.
TSYS Payment Gateway is well suited for a small business or medical practice looking for a payment management system that is, overall, easy to use and straightforward. TSYS is user-friendly and generates detailed user reports to show businesses which credit and debit card payments have processed during the specified time period.
  • Positive impact on work flow- employees can quickly cross-reference reports to close out the day
  • TSYS can be expensive. We are considering alternatives as we continue to improve our practice.
  • More than one employee can be logged in at one time allowing for responsibilities to be shared to help with work flow and productivity.
