Product Details

What is Xero?

Xero is an online accounting software platform for small businesses and their advisors, as well as for personal finance. Xero competes most often with QuickBooks Online. Its features, beyond the ubiquitous general ledger and double-entry bookkeeping support, include invoicing with quotes, bank reconciliation, purchase order and expense management, tax management, and it is mobile-accessible. Xero integrates with over 800 third-party applications, covering everything from inventory and logistics to cash flow, project management, customer relationship management, and e-commerce.

The product is sold by subscription (a distribution model commonly known as software as a service or SaaS) requiring the payment of a monthly fee. This charge is proportionate to the number (and type) of company entities managed by the subscriber. The lowest tiered pricing option is the $9 per month Starter pack, which supports unlimited users but a limited number of transactions. The $30 Standard pack breaks open usage limits and adds e-filing and payroll options. The $70 Premium package doubles the number of supported employees on payroll from 5 to 10, and supports multiple currencies.

Always respond and keep issues open until you are satisfied with the result. Generally good responses, in the past, I had some support responses that were really basic and really annoying. They type where "have your tried restarting your computer" style of answers. Well, of course, I went through all the basics before contacting them. Duh, but I suppose not everyone does. Otherwise, it would be a 10. The last year has shown a marked improvement in the support responses however.

Need to have more live user interfacing. Need to have more online/video support options. Need to identify clearly what improvements there are, preferably with videos or emails. Need to better organize or classify support posts by country, especially when regs like taxes are involved. Need to have more support tools besides user posts because most posts are answered by other users with infrequent responses by Xero or certified bookkeepers/accountants. Need to convert some help responses to blog posts or videos with clear options and directions for how to implement the solutions or troubleshoot for each option, since often multiple ways to log, change, or do something in xero.

The support is good, they respond to us on time, and they are with us when we need them most. We asked support for help at the beginning of the configuration, and they were detailed in the answers. They guided us by hand and gave us suggestions to improve our use. I give it the highest score because our profits have been high with the support of Xero.

The few times I've needed support, I've used the help feature, and I was able to resolve my issue. It has been very rare that I've required support, though. I haven't had to reach out for live support. The major support issues I've needed help with are related to my bank feeds disconnecting

Fortunately, I have had limited experience with support, but whenever I needed their help, they have been helpful. Their accountant partnership program had professional salespeople which was a great experience. Their forums aren't as good as QuickBooks but it's good to have a platform where you can ask questions. Their normal support was good in the few instances I had to talk to them.

I have been using XERO for the last 2 years. It works very smoothly without any hurdles. We can also pull out any report whether it is standard or customize or we can also create our favorites reports and pull them.
Secondly, it also gives us the facility for Payroll and other taxes too.

Xero has absolutely the worst possible customer service. It is 100% obvious that they don't care about their customers and they don't even try to hide this fact a lot of the time. Read up about them before you consider them and don't believe the reviews that show more than 4 stars! Some review sites show 4+ stars, where a misinformed and/or ignorant writer comes up with the rating, but when you go in and and read actual customer reviews, even on that same website, it's a very different story.
