there's two points to consider about performance : the key is the performance of the application you deploy on OpenShift (design, development & resource constraints). then, if you properly size your OpenShift platform, you can manage your applications scalability in a very simple and intuitive way, and Openshift performs very well at that.

Self healing capabilities for pods running containerized workloads are a great tool that has completely helped us move away from Docker stand-alone. We considered Docker Swarm and AKS or GKE. But for environments running in a hyper-converged Infrastructure, OpenShift came out on top.
OpenShift is providing us a highly available application layer to keep the apps up and running. In cases of load, we can set auto-scaling options on the application to scale across anytime high loads are encountered. Lots of autoscaling options also provided - like vertical or horizontal scaling.

It has definitely enhanced the performance not only directly but indirectly as well; it has helped in the smooth running of the application and also handled different workloads at the same time. It ensures that the applications work well, consistently, and efficiently. Although it was a bit taxing to learn, now I feel at ease in using it.

When we needed S3 support, we deployed the ODF operator. Initial 3 node deployment didn't give us the performance we needed for our app. Increasing the nodes for ODF was pretty easy and gave us the results we wanted.

No degradation of performance observed while running on Red Hat OpenShift vs running in vm. We use a filesystem that was tuned and designed for high performance application with large scale , surprisingly no performance degradation was seen while running this application on Red Hat OpenShift, scalability is also reasonably good. Though we are yet to test it on full scale environment surprising

We've not been running Red Hat OpenShift long, but I can already tell a big performance difference over our previous Kubernetes clusters. We had several weird issues in Kubernetes that we have not yet seen be an issue in Red Hat OpenShift. That alone made a world of difference to my entire organization.

And as far as integrations and stuff like that, I definitely give it a 10. It hasn't had a significant impact on anything we've integrated it with. I guess the only caveat that I'll put on there is it has a lot of self-healing capabilities built into it, which is great, except I am impatient. So when things start breaking, I start looking into them. And my team jokes that we have this rule of thumb of we have to wait four hours and let Red Hat OpenShift try to do its own thing to fix it before we try to intervene. So that has been tough.

Openshift performance is based on the underlying infrastructure, the K8s design, and the applications' design. Cloud-native applications should have resilience baked in and should not depend on infrastructure resilience. Standard stateful apps may still depend on the underlying infrastructure. It depends on the approach.

Compared to the older legacy systems, Kubernetes itself is a really complex stack. So you have to do the networking things. You have a lot of communications running between parts of the application on different layers and these slow down applications sometimes. But on the other hand, it's okay because we can speed up the deployment or the application deployment itself. We have other benefits, so that's not that negative seven is still fine for us.
