Dynatrace was better suited for the needs of our organization
Nagios still is used today as our main alerting tool. It does repeat static checks well, but Dynatrace blows it out of the water when it comes to connecting all the app dependencies together. Also, Davis makes MTTR and root cause analysis simple compared to Nagios.
Datadog is a good system but does lack a lot of features provided by Dynatrace, and more importantly, it does not have the support Dynatrace provides. Many other systems, Zabbix, Nagio, AppDynamics also exist, but so far, Dynatrace really shines above them all.
