Likelihood to Recommend The Sophos email solution is a good fit for my organization which is a mid-size resort with 200 users. Sophos email has revealed unwanted emails that were getting through our built in Microsoft email security scanning and policies so having this extra layer was a no brainier. With that we were able to focus on the bad stuff and even tweak our products with this information from Sophos email.

I have already recommended Zix to a number of our coworkers in the home healthcare industry, and a number of those coworkers also use Zix, which makes it quite simple to connect with one another. Because it pertains to health care, which is an industry in which it is vital to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity, we also utilize it within our own organization to communicate with one another.
Read full review Pros We could customize it to have a certain level of workflow. We manage to enforce certain email (based on key-phrases) to be quarantined before send it to the recipient. And the email needs to be approved (manually) before being released. For certain type (using regex) of email, we will encrypt it if it's sent outside our organization domain. Makes it easy for those receiving emails to create an account and retrieve the email. Peace of mind knowing emails are secure, and can be tracked. Monitoring inbound email threats is easy. Support has been very quick resolving or explaining support tickets I've created. Read full review Cons I would love to see tips integrated into the user interface from the management side to allow for easier dissection of email headers. This would allow lower level admins that may work at smaller companies to better understand the information presented. Read full review Webroot, an OpenText company
Ease of use. Other competitors platform is WAY easier to use and customize. You have to cover THE ENTIRE ORGANIZATION with coverage, even though only a handful will need to use email encryption The Zix Protect platform is a complete joke to customize and use. Read full review Likelihood to Renew It was easy to use and easy to implement. You don't need previous knowledge on the products, after we got this up and running, it took us hours to put everything together. The transition was easy and seamless.

It did delivers exactly what is needed, what was promised, is cost effective, and is incredibly easy to use and manage.
Read full review Usability It's mostly great and for policies and features, it does everything we would ask it to and more. The only thing keeping it from being a 10 is the lack of granularity in the reporting, which is actually an issue within Sophos Central as a whole. The ability to drill down from dashboards into accurate, detailed data would be very helpful at times.

It is much simpler to configure and operate in comparison to other anti-spam applications. Zix's customer usage is comparable to that of other spam filters on the market; but, in terms of convenience of use, Zix comes out on top. Daily delivery of logs is provided, and the user is not required to sign in order for an email to be sent.
Read full review Support Rating Support is slow to respond. They call back outside of normal business hours despite clearly being advised when they should call. They try to BS you that the platform is working properly although there is hard evidence to the contrary. Once you get to senior level of support they agree that the product is incapable of performing properly in its current iteration.

Zix is very good about response times and information. They even proactively e-mail us about known issues. I have never had an issue go unresolved, and the support team tends to answer quickly unless it's a strange, complicated request. The only time that happened was doing a search through logs, and that was entirely on me and my unfamiliarity with their flavor of Linux.
Read full review Alternatives Considered I have only tried Sophos Email, and I find it to be a very useful tool, as it protects against information leakage such as fraudulent emails, cloud sandboxing and quarantine, which are essential functions and the product works excellent.

Cost is competitive, but factoring in Office licensing really made sense for my organization. Cost is lower for more features - I was able to move to Zix and get the top of the line package, moving from a mid-tier product at a competitor. Workflows and process have improved, and the filter is more accurate than our previous filter
Read full review Return on Investment Sophos Email has been protecting our users, including the administrative branch, who are the target of attacks most frequently. Every month Sophos Email stops about 100,000 malicious emails. We calculate that if these attacks have saved the company time, it prevents us from having a lot of support staff to attend to the cases. Read full review Webroot, an OpenText company
Recommended Zix as secure email resource to the salesforce and seems to have been nicely adopted. Peace of mind that some emails are hopefully getting encrypted and that we are more secure than we were before...sometimes. Again, there should be some indication to the sender that their information was sent securely. Even if it is a pop up or something. Read full review ScreenShots
