Overall Satisfaction with Apache Flex (formerly Adobe Flex)
We utilized it to create a multi-device internal app for tracking hours as well as created a couple of apps for customers. Nothing too big, but it was helpful in creating the apps pretty quickly & making them cross-platform. Otherwise, we would have had to look outside the agency for additional help.
- Runs on flash (at the time this was handy, not so much now. hah).
- Good support from the company.
- Ability to run offline.
- Relied too much on flash at some times in its history.
- Not web standard.
- html5 took over its market.
- Cross platform usage
- IDE support
- Easy debugging
- Positive: Easy to learn if you already knew AS.
- Negative: Too heavy on flash knowledge (I know it's contradictory, but it was a plus & a minus).
- ROI was great since it saves time on multiple devices compiling.
