Overall Satisfaction with Google Sheets
Wonderful for sharing and updating teams on the status of collection accounts and other projects. That it is web-based and easily accessible by all team members is the most useful part.
- Multiple users
- Web-based product
- Multi-column V-lookup is handy. Type formula once, multiple columns returned.
- Shifting to Sheets after years and years of Excel is like learning to crawl after I've been running for years. Some sort of translator document. Such as if you use XYZ in Excel, the same function can be found here in Sheets
- Functionality shuts down after 5K or so lines are used. I work in finance. We have hundreds of thousands of transactions we need to analyze.
- If Big Query is the answer to large amounts of data, it needs to be as easy to use as Sheets is.
- Wonderful for dashboards.
- Easy to connect with and update multiple users working remotely on same project.
- Still need outside program to deal with large amounts of data.
Excel can house large amounts of data so it is easy to work with, analyze, make visualizations, import/export other file types. It does it all, except be easily shared. Sheets is fantastic for sharing instantly, creating team dashboards, organizing tasks. Formulas that are in Excel are now functions within Sheets as well. The largest drawback with Sheets is how functionality slows to a stop and crashes with large data sets. It would also be nice for there to be an Excel to Sheets reference guide for those of us who have been using Excel since the 1990s. Now that there is another viable option for most things, all you can do to help us learn where to find what we have been using would be helpful.
