Overall Satisfaction with IBM Watson Media's Video Streaming
Currently, it is used to stream externally to our "customers". It is used in a house of worship, so we stream our worship services out to our congregation. This allows people who can't attend in person to feel connected to their community. It has also extended our reach into two retirement communities allowing them to age gracefully.
- It just works!
- Reliable.
- Handles different devices, formats and bit rates automatically.
- Support isn't all that helpful.
- The online interface is lacking, hasn't changed much in 9 years.
- No HLS ingest or other ultra low latency options.
Somewhat. We generally only stream to 20-250 viewers, externally. I'm aware you support much larger audiences, but we don't have that level of viewership.
We haven't needed it since we aren't streaming to a large audience or internally. This sounds like marketing speaks for P2P video within a local network. SD-CDN doesn't mean anything to me. Tell me what it does, the value prop, not the abstract.
Those details help us understand the basics, making sure we can see who is watching. However, they lack any real useful data like rebuffer events, startup time, which bit rate is being watched, etc.
I haven't used it, and I'd really like to start. This is incredibly important to our user base as we have folks who are hard of hearing or deaf. I will be looking into this feature. My assumption is it won't be available on my grandfathered Ustream Pro account.
