Overall Satisfaction with Lattice

We use Lattice primarily to collect and distribute performance management assessments. We also used the survey features to regularly collect and track employee satisfaction surveys. Lattice also enabled employees to provide feedback on peers and submit suggestions to the virtual suggestion box. We had an API feed from our HR talent management system into Lattice.

  • It allowed us to achieve a multi-year goal to track employee satisfaction across multiple dimensions over time and identify patterns and levers to improve employee engagement. The reminders would be sent only to employees who had not yet responded, minimizing redundant emails for many staff. Our response rates were typically in the low to mid 80%.
  • There was some negative ROI on the administration of Lattice due to the inability to pre-schedule or set recurring performance cycles and surveys. We had to manually create the reporting periods each time which was consuming due to our performance review process.
Lattice is more fully featured than BambooHR on the performance management functionality. It allows greater customization and more capabilities. If your company is mid-sized or large, Lattice is the way to go. However, it does require having some staff dedicated to understanding the system and committed to managing it. TINYpulse was also an interesting offering with some benefits, but also not as fully featured as Lattice for a medium to large business.

Lattice works very well for our two primary purposes: Performance Management and Employee Satisfaction. On the employee satisfaction surveys, we are able to capture comments as well as quantitative ratings. We are able to maintain anonymity for respondents and cut the data based on several descriptors. Lattice was a bit overbuilt for small companies. There were many features built in that we did not use.
Lattice has a virtual suggestion box feature but it actually only generated an email window for the user. I would have preferred the suggestions to be sent within the system and maintained in the system rather than externally via email.
