Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp
We use Mailchimp to contact customers who have signed up to a newsletter as well as for marketing purposes.
- Storage and management of email lists in different categories
- Integration with website forms to capture and store contact details
- Clear, easy to use data on mailing success etc.
- As a small company it would be good to have more flexible invoicing dependent on use.
- It is not always clear on how to manage lists
- Easier explanations on the type of sign up or storage of a contact
- When contacting a group involved with a current project it has been very useful to be able to contact the group as a whole and to change contact names if needed.
- We find it can get expensive to store the contact lists that we use less often.
- It is easy to access and jump straight into even if you haven't used it for a while
Mailchimp is a means to an end and a way to stay within GDPR laws. We may not use it if this wasn't a requirement. Other platforms are better for design or management of contacts, but Mailchimp offers that secure storage of data that is required. I have not tried other bulk mail applications, so am unable to compare these.
As previously mentioned, it offers a service that we need, but if we found something better we would not be too bothered about moving on. It does the job, but something more suited to a small business would be preferable in regards to cost.
We have learned not to store less used lists within Mailchimp as we are charged for something that is not getting used.
However, the ability to re-edit previous posts to send again is very good, and saves lots of time when you are only updating a previous mailing.
