Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I run the HRIS system for my company. I like the ease of Paylocity versus other HR systems. It is a little quirky at times but it isn't hard to figure out once you dig into it. Paylocity integrates nicely with our other benefit systems like Fidelity and Ease. One the other end, my employees are not totally impressed with the employee portal piece. It is a bit confusing for them but once I show them it is pretty easy to use.
  • Onboarding
  • E-verify
  • Integrating with other systems
  • Employee portal is not up to par
  • Some times the system glitches out
  • Not sure this will stand out once we are a larger company
  • Need to integrate with more applications
  • Ease of onboarding
Would like it to integrate with Lever recruiting software. I know every month they are adding more integrated systems that will work seamlessly with paylocity. We were finally able to integrate our 401K, and our benefits portal which has saved me a lot of time. I am the sole operations person so it is important to streamline these systems.
we only use for harassment training and we had some issues. We haven't implemented any of these pieces yet but I am sure in the future, as we get bigger, we will find a way to make these work for us. We could use some engagement tools to help guide us on what we need to work on.
This is much better than Paycom, and much simpler than Dayforce. Paylocity does have some limitations, and as we grow bigger we may run into some issues with it. For now, it works well. Some things don't make sense but I eventually figure it out. We will see scalable it is and the new few months.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

Onboarding is really easy for my new hires. It isn't to difficult to program but there are a few pieces that could use some work. When I make fillable pieces for onboarding I have to redo every page vs. making changes to one page. This is cumbersome and requires a lot more time.

Using Paylocity

70 - We use Paylocity for for our Human Resources information system. People use this to view their paycheck, tax set up and harassment training. We also do some PTO tracking.
1 - I am the sole employee to to assist the staff on how to use and any issues that arise with this system. Luckily, I haven't had many issues and it is very easy to use. I have only had a few employees come to me to ask for help, mainly with their tax set up.
  • Tracking
  • Onboarding
  • Training
  • Payroll
  • nothing unexpected at this time
  • additional training
  • recruiting
  • tracking
I believe it is easy to use for both onboarding, offboarding and reporting. I have been able to figure things out pretty quickly and haven't run into too many issues. I really like the interface, and the help files. In the past I have issues with other HRIS systems and I haven't run into too many problems.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - We were much smaller, we were using Gusto which is not a great systems for companies that are growing. We did an integration about a year ago and it was pretty seamless. I was worried that things wouldn't move over properly but was pleasantly surprised that things worked out in the end.
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
Integration was my first worry. I have had bad experiences in the past with integrating new systems together but so far things have worked out well. Scalability is another worry I have but we will deal with that once we get a bit bigger and will re-evaluate the software at that time.
I wasn't part of this initial selection process but I am not sure I would have changed anything. Paylocity works well for what we need at this point in time. Once we get larger we will see if this is still the situation. I hope so, I really don't want to have to change systems again, it is such a hassle.

Paylocity Implementation

there weren't many issues with the implementation of paylocity. Again, we don't have that many employees so it was easy to do spot checking to make sure each bucket was filled in correctly from the other database we were using. We have much functionality with paylocity and I do a lot less manual report than I did before.
Yes - We started slowly to make sure the data was getting uploaded correctly. We ran multiple tests and reports to make sure each section was getting pulled into the right places. We had a consultant and Paylocity help us with the implementation piece of this. It was fairly easy process and didn't run into many issues.
Not sure - Nothing that I am aware of. We were a much smaller company so there wasn't much change for us. Going forward, we will have to see how thig will change things at the company. So far so good.
  • time
  • effort
  • some flow issues were found

Paylocity Support

Support has been pretty good. It does sometimes take a while for someone to get back to me and sometimes I figure it out before they answer me back. I have also taught them a few things they didn't know about their system. I assume some of these folks are newer to the company and are still learning.
ProsCons
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response
Not kept informed
No we didn't purchase the premium support. We are not big enough for this yet but we may see in the future if it is worth it. I am pretty tech savvy so I usually can resolve most problems without assistance.
No, like I have said I haven't had many issues so my contact with support has been limited but they seem very nice and committed to those questions I have asked.

Using Paylocity

It is a good software, it is very user friendly and I haven't have many issues with usability. I hope to not have any issues with this in the future but sometimes things happen and you have to roll with it.
ProsCons

  • Onboarding is fairly easy once you have it set up, saves a lot of time
  • Payroll
  • Training
  • Flow of information to another system
  • programing onboarding
Yes - It works but it is very boring and not that interactive. That is one thing I would for sure change. It is just static but it does have everything you need for employees. It is easy to use but not very exciting. I have used other mobile HRIS and they are much better but it works for now.
