Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks for Mac
I use quickbooks for Mac to manage all of my finances for my consulting company. It's incredibly helpful to organize receipts and invoices with the multiple clients I work alongside. A large problem it addresses is being able to handle recurring invoices for clients I have on retainer. Interacting with international clients is also convenient as it does automatic currency conversions.
- Recurring invoices.
- Multi-platform support.
- Simplified reports.
- Improvement for marking receipts as billable or reimbursable - it currently has a few user glitches and unnecessary extra steps.
- Forecasting tools to visualize anticipated cashflow.
- Being able to file quarterly tax reports with the pro account (currently it is only offered in the solopreneur version).
- High implementation cost for small business, but expect to see good return by saving time.
- Has increased reporting and communication between employees and external accountant.
- I had to pay for the Pro version simply to access recurring invoices which was unfortunate.
I used to use Wave Accounting for quite awhile and switched to Quickbooks for Mac this year because I need some more rigorous software and record keeping for my accountant. Wave Accounting was an excellent start for a small company but as soon as I had decent revenue, it became worthwhile to pay for advanced software to get my time back.
