Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat OpenShift
Interested in migrations from vsphere to rhv. I am also interested in standardizing on-prem K8s to OpenShift from a variety of other distros, including Tanzu and Rancher. Openshift has stood the test of time while other platforms have come and gone or have failed to live up to their promise. The support of the opensource community helps a lot.
- Solid on-prem k8s stack.
- Simplifies managing kubernetes.
- Adds new relevant features.
- Still complex to deploy and manage on bare metal.
- Consolidation of K8s platforms.
- Fast path to cloud native.
- An enterprise class platform.
Positive impact. We use OpenShift extensively for our container workloads, which can be COTS or homegrown. We also plan to use it as a landing zone for general-purpose VMs or VMS that would benefit from K8s APIs and pipelines. We look forward to the production release of hosted control planes, which will be very beneficial.
