Adlumin, an N-able company vs. Confluera

As an IT organization a SIEM solution is a necessity these days, and Adlumin is a pretty good option since we're already using N-able products. The 24x7 MDR is nice to know that our environment is being watched while the staff of my small company sleep. For an IT provider and for clients of IT providers that deal with compliance or need for additional security, it's a great way to get more coverage on possible threats and to point out any potential items that might slip through the cracks. I think compliance reporting will be great once it's complete. The one thing I wish it had that other products offer is a built-in security awareness training that we could offer to clients we put on the platform.

• Wish there were a series of training videos or courses through the training section in the portal to become more comfortable with using the product

It's relatively easy to navigate once you become familiar with the layout and controls, and the platform does a good job of centralizing key security functions in one place. However, there are times when access to certain features feels misleading or unintuitive, most notably when expected controls or configurations are not readily visible or are located in less-obvious areas. This can create some friction during day-to-day use and make training a bit more extensive, particularly for newer users or when performing more advanced tasks.

We toured Barracuda's MDR services before going with Adlumin, an N-able company, as we utilize Barracuda for email security. Overall, we prefered Adlumin due to its easier integration with N-Central and price point.

• On the negative side, there is more administration work to be done handling the incidents and the emails and tickets they generate.
