Capture One Pro vs. Procreate

It is the best tool available to us for our workflow. Able to do most things really well, especially in the area of colour handling/management. It cannot be used for more creative work, such as making montages. Although it can be done, it is not the ideal tool for that.

We are using Procreate less and less as Adobe tools catch up with more iPad applications and sketching styles, but Procreate is still superior in flexibility and online tutorials. We are using other, more formal tools more, just because the changing nature of work is less illustrative.

• Custom Asset Sizes
• Animation Options
• Intuitive Design

• Perhaps have more AI features, as included in some competitor products
• Although file handling is pretty good, there is a steep learning curve to understand how it works.
• Difficult to understand how to use it and it's features for new people.

• It would be nice to make it easier to turn drawing processes into animations.

Procreate is easy to use and easy to learn for new users.

Much easier and faster to use compared with Photoshop. However Adobe lightroom does provide similar features but isn't as capable with colour management.

We broadly use the Adobe suite for other applications, so as Adobe tools have advanced, it is difficult to have an outlier in the toolkit, but Procreate still offers a lot of ease of use and competes with more formal Illustrator tools. We use Illustrator a lot for general design work once they pass initial concepting.

• The product has saved significant time through being able to batch process images
• Collaboration has become almost realtime with clients able to view images and select the best ones through setting up an online session. Prior to this images had to be emailed across, this has shaved off days in getting feedback.
